The cold war between the two lasted about a week, and December mid-month quickly approached with a chill in the evening.

Nora Northwood was cleaning the living room when she swept out a lipstick from under the sofa.

She recognized the lipstick, recalling it was the one from Jasper Sinclair’s pocket.

She sat down casually, her posture lazy, lost in thought.

Perhaps Jasper doesn’t even know what’s in his pocket?

Perhaps soone did it on purpose?

While she was trying hard to figure things out, a soft rustling sounded from the entrance.

Soon, Jasper Sinclair’s tall figure appeared.

"I passed by the cake shop." He placed a delicate little box on the coffee table.

Nora glanced at it; it was a strawberry mille-feuille.

Instantly, she picked up the lipstick, "Have you seen this lipstick before?"

Jasper was puzzled by her sudden question and honestly replied, "No."

Upon hearing this, Nora sat up straight.

"How could you not have seen it? Who was the woman who drove you ho that day?"

Jasper was already confused, and hearing about a woman sending him ho only made things more bewildering.

"What woman could there be?"

Now it was ti for both of them to stare intensely at each other.

Soon, light filled Nora’s almond-shaped eyes, as if an undercurrent surged within.

"One night, when you were drunk, a woman drove you ho; this lipstick was in your clothes pocket."

"Impossible," Jasper instinctively blurted out, "I called Louis Hayes; how could a woman have sent ho!"

Nora quickly stood up and stopped him, "So you have no recollection of that day at all."

Determined to clear his na, Jasper insisted on making a phone call.

...

The truth ca out: It was the secretary of a certain leader who sent Jasper ho after Louis Hayes got drunk.

Now everything made sense.

Nora was temporarily speechless, "You were the one drunk beyond recognition, yet you suspected I wasn’t coming ho."

"Honey, you really let sleep on the couch for a night."

"Who told you to put your hand on soone else’s shoulder for you both to stick so close together!" She gave Jasper a sidelong glance, her eyes still carrying a hint of playfulness.

"You had dinner with Aaron Lowell and didn’t tell ."

"I sent you a ssage." Then the two of them checked their chat history again.

Ultimately, it was all caused by signal issues; neither of them received each other’s ssages and thus missed a lot of things in between.

Finally, after many days, the misunderstanding was resolved.

Suddenly, a low laugh sounded in Nora’s ears, "Honey, you were jealous."

"I’m not just jealous; I’m ready to bite soone’s head off."

...

Stanton City’s many days of continuous rain turned into sunny weather the next day.

On a rest day.

Nora packed away the sumr clothes, replacing them with autumn attire.

After organizing everything, she went to The Sinclair Group.

Unfortunately, that woman was again in Jasper Sinclair’s office.

This ti, Nora wasn’t intimidated, confidently reaching out to greet, "Thanks for bringing my husband ho last ti; you left behind a lipstick."

When hearing the last two words, the person opposite visibly paused.

Being a woman, how could Nora not understand her thoughts?

"Just a small favor, as for the lipstick, could you please handle it?"

"Then I’ll throw it away. Rember to keep track of your belongings in the future, don’t leave them around."

Nora’s unspoken ssage: Stay away from my husband!
