Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk Chapter 197: Apologies Should Be Sincere
Nora Northwood took a few steps inside, the sll of disinfectant making her feel slightly pungent. She sniffed, then replied to Rachel Woodward: "Apology? Indeed, if it’s my fault, I certainly won’t avoid it!"
Imdiately, Rachel’s eyes lit up, she raised her chin arrogantly and said, "Since it’s an apology, it should be sincere. I want you to publicly apologize in the dia."
Nora crossed her arms and nodded with interest, indicating agreent: "Miss Woodward makes a very good point."
Her deanor left Rachel puzzled.
The two sides stood their ground for a while, and Rachel’s smile gradually faded. Her brows furrowed slightly as she asked in confusion, "Nora! What kind of trick are you playing?"
Nora shrugged. Even though she was standing calmly by the hospital bed, she exuded an imposing aura.
Perhaps after spending so much ti by Jasper Sinclair’s side, she had learned so of his essence.
At least, bluffing soone was no problem.
In Rachel’s puzzled gaze, Nora spoke clearly, word by word: "But why should I apologize for sothing I haven’t done?"
Nora had always had a plain face, but now, she looked completely harmless.
"You..."
Imdiately, Rachel’s expression changed. She struggled to say "you" for a long ti without producing any justification.
As their eyes t, the prideful expression Rachel had worn just monts ago morphed into several complex looks, then turned into a frenzied growl: "It was you who pushed !"
Her reaction was within Nora’s expectations; after all, this was a preditated act.
Nora stepped forward, pressing on, "Miss Woodward, we barely know each other. Why are you so determined to fra ? Who’s really behind this instructing you?"
Rachel seed to realize Nora was trying to extract information from her. She forced herself to calm down, adjusted her breathing, and said again, "No one is instructing . I am just stating the facts."
Nora’s expression suddenly cooled down, and her gaze towards Rachel beca glacial. "Since things have co to this, since you are willing to speak the truth, I don’t need to spare you out of respect for The Sinclair Family."
Rachel’s heart trembled; could it be she really left evidence for them?
This thought quickly vanished, and she bit her lip, convinced her plan was flawless and had no loopholes.
She was worried that continuing the discussion would reveal weaknesses, so she lay back down, "The doctor said I need to rest. Please leave."
"Since the person framing isn’t you, what are you avoiding here?"
As the two were at an impasse, another person entered the hospital room.
It was Jasper Sinclair.
He stood beside Nora, in a protective stance, shielding most of Nora’s body behind him.
The man exuded a mysterious danger, he softly said, "Nora, there’s no need to waste too much ti on her. The police have already gotten involved, and it won’t be long before the truth cos out."
Watching the man she had long admired protect Nora even at the cost of hurting himself, for Rachel, it was truly torturous.
Her hands, hidden beneath the covers, clenched into fists, looking utterly resentful.
Nora glanced at Jasper, speaking with intention, "I am confident the police will clear my na. I will certainly never admit to sothing I didn’t do. It seems Miss Woodward doesn’t want to settle privately. I hope next ti I visit, you will still hold to your beliefs."
