He sent her one or two messages daily, in a casual, chatty manner.
Momo looked at the message for a long time before sending back a smiling emoji.
Less than five seconds after she sent the emoji, he instantly replied with a surprised emoji.
Then, Huo Song sent a video call invitation.
Momo’s expression changed slightly.
After a moment’s hesitation, she pressed accept, and on the screen appeared Huo Song’s handsome, smiling face, filled with a warm and cheerful glow.
“Junior sister, where are you?”
“I’m at a hotel.”
Momo replied with a playful smile on her face.
Huo Song chuckled, “I can see you’re at a hotel, but when are you ing back?”
“Not sure, maybe after the New Year.”
Momo got up, walked over to the sofa, and sat down.
“You left just as I arrived in G City, I’m not really used to it.”
“Really?”
“Alright, maybe a little.” Huo Song’s face lit up with a bright smile.
After chatting for a while, Huo Song learned that Momo hadn’t eaten and urged her to have a meal.
After asking where she was at first, he didn’t mention it again.
After finishing the video call with Huo Song, Momo opened Ji Anyun’s friend request message.
She smiled faintly and accepted her friend request.
She tossed her phone onto the bed and left the room to go downstairs for dinner.
After dinner, Momo went out for a while.
By around ten o’clock at night, feeling exhausted from playing, she returned to the hotel room.
Before entering the room, she told the two bodyguards that they’d be leaving for the next destination the next day.
As soon as Momo opened the door, her phone on the bed kept ringing.
She went over, picked it up, and saw it was a voice call invitation from Ji Anyun. Frowning, she answered with a slight “Hello.”
“Miss Mo, you finally answered. Thank heavens.”
“Is there something you need?”
“Miss Mo, what I said on the phone the other day might have caused a misunderstanding. I’ve been feeling guilty these past few days, and I’m here to apologize.”
Ji Anyun’s voice came through sincerely.
Momo rolled her eyes. “Is there anything else?”
“I heard you even deleted Ah Zhan from your WeChat friends. He was sent away… he just asked me after ing back yesterday. Miss Mo, please don’t blame him because of me. That day was my fault for expressing poorly. Ah Zhan is always about evidence, and it’s impossible for him to blame you in such a situation.”
“Ji Anyun, can you represent Ye Zhan?”
A surge of anger rose in Momo’s heart, and her words were inadvertently tinged with a hint of sarcasm.
She had never seen Ji Anyun in person.

“Since he’s injured, you should be with him rather than wasting your efforts calling to explain to me. I don’t really know you guys that well, and we aren’t friends, so let’s not engage in such pointless things in the future.”
With that, Momo hung up the call.
Momo hesitated, considering calling Gu Zhitong to ask if she knew about Ye Zhan’s condition.
Just then, a dark figure suddenly crashed through the window and rolled onto the carpet.
A sharp smell of blood filled the air.
Momo screamed in fright.
Even though the figure was injured, they moved with incredible skill.
In an instant, a sharp knife was pressed against Momo’s fair neck. “Don’t scream, or I’ll take your life immediately.”
Momo’s face turned pale with fear.
Her whole body froze.
