"Mi Wan."

Standing behind Mi Wan, Chen Wenyu called softly, neither anxious nor nervous, but very calm.

"Xuanxuan, don’t stand there, co inside quickly." Mi Wan’s attention was entirely on Xuanxuan. Seeing her turn around and then suddenly freeze, she gently urged without noticing Chen Wenyu’s presence or hearing her call.

"Bad person!"

Just as Mi Wan finished speaking, Xuanxuan suddenly ran out anxiously, her face puffed up, and shouted loudly.

Bad person?

Hearing this, Mi Wan’s heartstrings tightened involuntarily. She reflexively ran forward, blocked Xuanxuan’s path, quickly picked her up, and held her tightly in her arms. The entire series of actions was seamless, smooth, and swift!

"Mom, why are you holding Xuanxuan? Xuanxuan saw a bad person, Xuanxuan wants to protect you." Mi Wan’s sudden move left Xuanxuan a little confused. She didn’t know Mi Wan was protecting her; instead, she was eager to protect Mi Wan.

"Xuanxuan is still young. Now, Mom will protect Xuanxuan. When Xuanxuan grows up healthy, she can protect Mom." Mi Wan said softly. Once she finished speaking, she continued to ask quietly, "Xuanxuan, quickly tell Mom, where is the bad person?"

"Behind us," Xuanxuan said obediently.

Suddenly, Mi Wan held Xuanxuan tighter. Although vigilant, she remained calm and asked in a low voice, "Is the bad person very close to us?"

"Not very close, but not too far either. Mom will see if she turns around." Xuanxuan glanced at Chen Wenyu, who was three or four ters away, and answered seriously.

Hearing this, Mi Wan did not turn around but imdiately stepped towards the school gate.

"Mom, don’t walk so fast. Xuanxuan is not afraid of that bad lady. If she dares to bully you, Xuanxuan will scold her and hit her until she’s scared and runs away!" Xuanxuan said, holding Mi Wan’s neck, her face full of righteous determination.

Bad lady?

After a few steps, Mi Wan caught a key word. The next second, she stopped abruptly and asked in confusion, "Which bad lady is Xuanxuan talking about?"

"The bad lady with Dad," Xuanxuan replied.

Chen Wenyu?

Mi Wan froze for a mont, then slowly turned around. Sure enough, she saw a face she didn’t quite like. At the sa ti, she realized that her earlier reaction had been overly tense.

Perhaps the previous incident where Xuanxuan was kidnapped had left a shadow in her heart, so she couldn’t help but be on high alert at the slightest hint of danger to Xuanxuan. Just hearing Xuanxuan shout "bad person" had instantly made her very vigilant, fearing soone would snatch her child away again.

With the "danger alert" dismissed, Mi Wan’s tense emotions relaxed significantly. She bent down and put Xuanxuan down, "Xuanxuan, go inside first."

"Xuanxuan won’t go in, Xuanxuan wants to stay and protect Mom." Xuanxuan clung tightly to Mi Wan’s leg, stubbornly saying.

"Xuanxuan, be good. Mom knows self-defense and can protect herself." Mi Wan bent down, looking at Xuanxuan with a gentle smile. "If you don’t go in now, Xuanxuan will be late. What did Mom teach Xuanxuan? Does Xuanxuan still rember?"

"I rember." Xuanxuan answered obediently, "Mom said, we must be punctual. Now that Xuanxuan is going to school, she must be a punctual, well-behaved student and aim to be a good and obedient child."

"So, will Xuanxuan go to school now? Leave the adult matters to the adults, okay?"

"Okay." Saying this, Xuanxuan let go of Mi Wan’s leg, then turned her face and glared at Chen Wenyu, "Bad woman, don’t think of bullying my mom. If you do, I’ll tell my Mr. Ji and have him teach you a lesson!"

"I won’t bully your mom." Hearing the loving conversation between the mother and daughter, Chen Wenyu couldn’t help but feel envious. Even though Xuanxuan was speaking to her unkindly, she still found her adorable.

A mother loved by her child is happy, and a child with filial piety is the most adorable. Perhaps her mindset had changed; the previous, inexplicable dislike she had for Xuanxuan had vanished.

"I don’t believe you, you’re a bad person!" Xuanxuan put her hands on her hips and expressed her distrust and suspicion of Chen Wenyu without reservation.

"Yes, I am a bad person." Chen Wenyu said frankly, "But this ti, please believe . I will not harm you anymore and I apologize for what I did before."

"..."

She ca to admit her mistakes? Xuanxuan was montarily taken aback, not knowing what to say.

"I’m sorry, Xuanxuan. I was too bad and hurt you before." Chen Wenyu looked at Xuanxuan with so guilt, apologizing sincerely.

"You... you..." Xuanxuan couldn’t believe her ears, nor her eyes. She found it hard to accept the sudden change from a cunning fox to a ek little rabbit, staring at Chen Wenyu, dumbfounded.

As for Mi Wan, she didn’t expect Chen Wenyu to co specifically to apologize this ti. She was slightly surprised but not as bewildered as Xuanxuan.

"Xuanxuan, you’ll be late for class," Mi Wan reminded with a stern face.

"Oh." Xuanxuan snapped back to reality, responded lightly, then waved and obediently said goodbye to Mi Wan, "Goodbye, Mom."

After speaking, Xuanxuan ran toward the kindergarten like a gust of wind, afraid that if she was slow, Chen Wenyu would apologize again, leaving her even more at a loss.

After Xuanxuan left, Mi Wan and Chen Wenyu stood facing each other. Although there was so distance between them, given their relationship, even a chance encounter was enough to make both uncomfortable and awkward. So, naturally, the atmosphere was sowhat strange and embarrassing.

"Actually, you didn’t have to co and apologize. We will gradually forget those unhappy things after all, you are not soone we should concern ourselves with." After a mont of silence, Mi Wan broke the silence first, speaking with composure.

This was Mi Wan, always composed and calm, rational and graceful, dazzling to the point of making others jealous and hateful, making them constantly wary. She even made others want to provoke her shalessly, flaunting their strength eagerly, hoping to step on her!

It was her, always her, the one who once made her feel inferior, now making her feel ashad!

Chen Wenyu lowered her head slightly, not having the courage to look Mi Wan in the eye, speaking softly, "I didn’t co to seek your forgiveness."
