Hearing Mi Wan’s question, Xuanxuan imdiately perked up and replied loudly, "Yes, will I get to visit Auntie’s house then?"

"Yay, that’s great, I’ll go call Cancan right now." With that, Xuanxuan dashed ho like a whirlwind. Watching her petite figure, Mi Wan’s eyes were overflowing with love.

Xuanxuan happily ran upstairs, breezing past the second-floor living room without noticing He Zerui sitting on the sofa. However, Kabi, who had followed her ho, suddenly stopped in its tracks. It seed quite afraid of He Zerui and didn’t dare to approach him, instead, it just stared longingly at the cookies in his hand from a distance.
"Kabi."
Only after Xuanxuan finished her call did she realize Kabi hadn’t followed her into the room. She called out while walking out of the room, soon spotting Kabi’s white tail at the corridor’s corner.
"Kabi."
Xuanxuan called again, but Kabi acted like it hadn’t heard her, not running towards her, only flicking its tail slightly.
Seeing this, Xuanxuan’s heart skipped a beat. She quickened her pace, "Kabi, what’s wrong? Are you..."
Before she finished her sentence, Xuanxuan noticed Kabi wasn’t lying on the ground sickly but sitting and staring longingly at He Zerui, clearly ignoring her presence!
Kabi, how can you be so smart yet so unaware? This big bad guy doesn’t like you, how could he possibly give you any cookies?

Kabi still didn’t move, continuing to drool over He Zerui’s cookies.

Frustrated, Xuanxuan bent down and forcibly picked up Kabi, striding back to her room without even glancing at He Zerui.
"Kabi, didn’t you just eat? Why are you craving again? We can’t eat the bad guy’s stuff. If you still want to eat, Xuanxuan will get you dog food." Entering the room, Xuanxuan closed the door, then placed Kabi in its bed, educating it seriously.

Upon hearing this, Kabi stared at Xuanxuan with its big, watery eyes and barked twice as if saying sothing. But Xuanxuan, not understanding dog language, looked at it puzzled and asked, "What are you saying? Do you agree with Xuanxuan and want the dog food?"

Kabi barked twice again and then stood up, running to the door, scratching it with its short front legs.
"You want to go out?" Xuanxuan asked with a pained expression. Seeing Kabi’s pitiful look, she didn’t relent, instead opened a drawer, took out so dog food, and said, "Kabi, co over and eat."
"Aroo."
Kabi glanced at the dog food in the bowl, looked back at Xuanxuan, whimpered softly, and continued to scratch the door with its front paws.
"Sigh, you’re even greedier than Xuanxuan!" Xuanxuan sighed helplessly, knowing Kabi was fixated on He Zerui’s cookies.
Scratch, scratch—
The door being scratched by Kabi made a noise, but fortunately, its claws had been trimd and weren’t too sharp, so the door showed no visible damage. Xuanxuan always cherished Kabi, pampering it like a little sister, so she couldn’t bear to scold it harshly. She could only compromise helplessly, "Alright, stop scratching, I’ll open the door for you."
But Kabi didn’t understand Xuanxuan’s words, staring at her confused. Only when Xuanxuan walked to the door did Kabi seem to realize she was going to open it. It wagged its fluffy tail and wiggled its butt ingratiatingly.
"Don’t get too excited! That big bad guy might not give you any cookies!" Seeing Kabi’s excitent, Xuanxuan couldn’t help but dampen its spirits, not caring if it understood her words.

Xuanxuan walked into the living room and saw Kabi drooling, almost salivating. She couldn’t help but feel a sense of disappointnt. Yet, despite her disdain, Xuanxuan still felt sorry for Kabi and decided to put aside her pride to ask He Zerui for a cookie.
"Ze... Zerui brother, can you give two cookies?" Xuanxuan hesitated, then slowly walked to He Zerui’s side, awkwardly and cautiously asking.
"Is it for you or the dog?" He Zerui looked sideways coldly, neither agreeing nor refusing, and asked indifferently.
"Uh..." Seeing He Zerui’s cold and bright eyes, Xuanxuan was intimidated, and her words got stuck. She stamred, "It’s... it’s for Kabi."
"Cookies for the dog?" As he spoke, He Zerui’s eyebrows furrowed.
"Yes, Kabi really likes cookies." Xuanxuan answered honestly.
Hearing this, He Zerui glanced coldly at Kabi, who was staring at his cookies, then arrogantly shifted his gaze back to the TV screen, coldly saying, "Waste!"

Xuanxuan didn’t understand what He Zerui ant by that, so she asked in confusion, "How is it a waste?"
"Dogs should eat what they’re supposed to eat. Is a dog still a dog if it eats cookies?"
"Of course! A dog is still a dog even if it eats cookies. Such simple knowledge, don’t you understand?" Suddenly, Xuanxuan felt a bit sorry for He Zerui. She knew that he had always stayed at ho and never went to school. Therefore, she didn’t look down on him or want to laugh at him. She just felt he was a bit pitiful for being unable to go to school and learn many things like she did.

Suddenly, He Zerui’s eyes twitched, finding Xuanxuan’s words sowhat amusing. A cold, sardonic smile ford on his lips. But the next mont, when his gaze t Xuanxuan’s eyes, which were soft and filled with pity, he froze. A complex emotion surged, and the mocking curve on his lips slowly smoothed out.
"Here." He Zerui changed his mind without thinking, putting the box of cookies into Xuanxuan’s hand.
