Originally, Mi Jing intended to find Shen Lingxing, but after encountering such a situation, she felt a bit down. So she silently headed upstairs, planning to take a nap in her room.

Shen Lingxing received an important call concerning an ergency surgery. Since he couldn’t make it to the scene in ti, he could only guide through a video call, and before he knew it, more than half an hour had passed. Only then did he rember to look for Mi Jing.

"Honey."

Learning from the servant that Mi Jing went upstairs, Shen Lingxing went directly into the room to find her. Sure enough, Mi Jing was already lying on the bed.

Mi Jing had always had the habit of taking a nap, which Shen Lingxing was well aware of. But at this mont, she wasn’t asleep, her eyelids drooping, looking deeply troubled.

"Where did you go?" Mi Jing sat up from the bed, and just as Shen Lingxing sat down, she opened her arms to hug him.

Thinking of what Shen Zixian said, the more Mi Jing thought about it, the more aggrieved she felt, with a bitter taste in her heart. But she couldn’t tell Shen Lingxing. The relationship between him and his father was already very strained; how could she add fuel to the fire? Therefore, Mi Jing decided to hide it from Shen Lingxing and swallow the bitterness by herself!

"What’s wrong?" Just with a simple action, Shen Lingxing had already sensed that sothing was off with Mi Jing’s mood.

"It’s nothing." Mi Jing rested her chin on Shen Lingxing’s shoulder, holding him tightly, feeling his breath while also trying to find so solace from him.

"When you say it’s nothing, it definitely ans sothing." Shen Lingxing said confidently, "What exactly happened?"

This man understood her.

Hearing Shen Lingxing’s question, Mi Jing’s mood brightened a bit. After thinking it over, she decided not to ntion what Shen Zixian said, but Shen Jiajia’s matter seed necessary to tell him.

With this in mind, Mi Jing said softly, "Jiajia said she likes Chu Chen and asked to help her."

Upon hearing this, the corners of Shen Lingxing’s mouth curved slightly, forming a faint mocking smile, and he said in a cool tone, "Don’t bother with her matters."

Of course, she didn’t want to bother! But Shen Jiajia ca to her, and because of that, Shen Zixian misunderstood that she was bullying her!

Sigh, the feeling of having grievances that can’t be spoken is really unpleasant. Mi Jing paused for a mont, then gently nodded.

"Why aren’t you saying anything? Did she bully you?" Shen Lingxing slightly pushed Mi Jing away, his penetrating gaze intently scanning her pretty face.

"No, she just cried very sadly, looking quite pitiful." Mi Jing’s eyes flickered, pretending to be calm as she spoke.

However, Mi Jing’s disguise didn’t fool Shen Lingxing. The next second, a cold light flashed in Shen Lingxing’s dark eyes, emitting a dangerous signal that Mi Jing couldn’t understand.

"Even if she looks pitiful, don’t bother with her." Shen Lingxing said seriously, with a trace of stern warning in his tone.

"Why?" Mi Jing genuinely wanted to know why both Grandma and Shen Lingxing disliked Shen Jiajia. Was it just because she was the daughter of the stepmother?

Seeing Mi Jing’s puzzled and confused expression, Shen Lingxing smiled, but as he recalled the past, the smile in his eyes vanished instantly, saying deeply, "She isn’t as innocent as she appears."

Although Shen Jiajia was seven years younger than Xing’er, she was much more scheming. When she was seven, she deliberately threw Xing’er’s beloved doll into the swimming pool, nearly causing the water-fearing Xing’er to drown. Fortunately, Mu Bai happened to visit that day and rescued Xing’er in ti.

Mu Bai and Grandma were witnesses to this incident, but no one ntioned it afterward. That very day, Grandma had soone fill the swimming pool and her attitude toward Shen Jiajia changed significantly. Shen Lingxing learned about this from Mu Bai, and from then on, he also distanced himself from Shen Jiajia.

Not as innocent as she appears?

Mi Jing’s mind kept replaying this sentence, while also recalling the teary look in Shen Jiajia’s eyes. The next mont, a sudden thought erged!

Was Shen Jiajia deliberately trying to make Shen Zixian misunderstand her?

But why would she do that? She hadn’t offended her!

Mi Jing, being relatively simple-minded, naturally didn’t think that doing nothing had already made Ma Huilian and Shen Jiajia insanely jealous, and even turned her into a thorn in their eyes.

After a peaceful nap, several relatives ca over in the afternoon. As a new face, Mi Jing naturally beca the center of attention, with inevitable pleasantries. Just rembering nas already made Mi Jing a bit dizzy.

At five in the afternoon, the seven aunts and eight uncles finally left, and Mi Jing finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Shen Lingxing, you have a lot of relatives." Mi Jing exclaid as she followed Shen Lingxing upstairs.

"Tired?" Shen Lingxing held Mi Jing’s hand, turning to look at her.

"Not too bad." Just feeling a bit dizzy.

"Then accompany to the study?" Shen Lingxing asked tenderly.

"Hmm."

In the study, Shen Lingxing held Mi Jing on his lap, multitasking, dealing with work matters while chatting with Mi Jing.

"I’ll go downstairs to accompany Grandma." Knowing how busy Shen Lingxing was, Mi Jing didn’t want to disturb him.

"No." Shen Lingxing domineeringly held Mi Jing in his arms, not letting her leave.

Thus, Mi Jing kept quiet and accompanied him quietly until the servant ca up to call them down for dinner.

A few minutes later, Mi Jing and Shen Lingxing walked into the dining room side by side. Grandma and Shen Zixian were already seated. Shen Lingxing thoughtfully pulled out a chair for Mi Jing. As soon as she sat down, his slightly sharp gaze fell on Shen Jiajia.

Suddenly, Shen Jiajia’s back stiffened, feeling a bit scared under Shen Lingxing’s gaze.

"Brother, do you have sothing to say to ?" Shen Jiajia asked, pretending to be puzzled.

"Regarding your internship at the company, wait until you graduate to consider it. Currently, the company is fully staffed and doesn’t need more people!" Shen Lingxing said coldly, exuding a powerful aura.

"Brother, wasn’t this matter already settled before? I’ve prepared everything, can you..." Shen Jiajia was a bit dumbfounded, completely not expecting Shen Lingxing to be so ruthless.

The company doesn’t need more people?

In such a big company, if he really wanted to let her in for an internship, it would just be a matter of a word! But now, he clearly doesn’t want to let her in!

"I’ve decided, you’re not suitable to join the company now." Even daring to bully his wife, if he didn’t give a little punishnt, she would really think he had no temper? Shen Lingxing snorted coldly in his mind.

"I..." Shen Jiajia grew anxious, imdiately turning her face to look at Ma Huilian. Ma Huilian’s expression remained calm, but her hands under the table clenched tightly, pinching her thighs without even realizing it.
