As Wu left, Han Xi slowly lifted his head and looked at Mi Jing with inexplicable remorse in his eyes, "Jing, Uncle owes you an apology."

What was this about? Why did he need to apologize to her?

Could it be because of Han Xiujie?

With this thought, Mi Jing smiled gently and said, "It’s all in the past, Uncle Han, you don’t need to keep it in your heart." Besides, it had nothing to do with him in the first place!

"I..." The guilt on Han Xi’s weathered face grew heavier. After a mont of hesitation, he spoke again, "Jing, it was my fault, my selfishness hurt you, and it hurt Xiujie too."

What did that an?

Mi Jing was puzzled and asked, "Uncle Han, you an..."

"Back then, it was who forced Xiujie to break up with you." Han Xi took a deep breath and quickly said what he had been holding back.

What?

So when Han Xiujie said he had his reasons, this is what he ant?

Mi Jing was only montarily surprised. In her opinion, no matter what the truth was, it was all in the past, and there was no need to dwell on it.

"Jing, you..." Han Xi wanted to ask Mi Jing for sothing, but as their eyes t, he suddenly lost the courage.

"Uncle Han, just say what you need to say." Mi Jing didn’t like to spend energy guessing others’ thoughts, so she hoped Han Xi would just be straightforward.

"Could you... could you go see Xiujie? Only you can help him let go of his burdens."

Back then, he was only thinking of his son’s future, believing that if Xiujie went abroad, if he was with Li Jia, he would have a promising future and wouldn’t be burdened by his frail body. But he never imagined that his wrong decision would cause his son to suffer so much pain for years.

"Sure! I’ll find ti to see him, though I can’t guarantee I can help him resolve his issues." Mi Jing agreed without hesitation. Maybe she was in a good mood, or perhaps because Han Bin had badly injured Han Xiujie, she didn’t refuse Han Xi’s request.

"Thank you, just talking with him will be good enough. Jing, thank you." Han Xi exclaid with gratitude.

"No need to thank ."

After sending Han Xi back to Wu’s side, Mi Jing learned Han Xiujie’s room number from him, morized it silently, and after saying goodbye, she took the elevator directly to Shen Lingxing’s office.

When she arrived at Shen Lingxing’s office, the door was closed. So, Mi Jing knocked, but after a while, there was no response. She then turned the handle and found the door was not locked.

Inside the office, it was quiet. Thinking Shen Lingxing was probably still in a eting, Mi Jing placed the lunch box on his desk and decided to leave. She planned to take this chance to visit Han Xiujie.

The inpatient ward was in another building, but there was a bridge connecting the two buildings, which saved her so unnecessary walking.

Knock knock——

"Co in."

Mi Jing knocked on the door, and soon, Han Xiujie’s voice ca through the door.

"Jing?"

Han Xiujie initially thought it was a nurse, but seeing Mi Jing walk in, he was almost shocked.

He had been in the hospital for a few days, visited by friends, colleagues, and his immobile father. He hadn’t hoped that Mi Jing would co to see him, but after days of waiting, his hopes had faded. Yet, at this unprepared mont, Mi Jing appeared.

"I’m not here to apologize." Mi Jing looked directly at Han Xiujie and said bluntly.

"Just you coming makes happy enough." Han Xiujie said with a smile, not hiding his joy at all.

"I just t your dad. He told it was him who forced you to break up with ." Mi Jing’s tone was calm, without the anger and coldness she had when facing Han Xiujie before.

"..."

Upon hearing this, Han Xiujie remained silent, staring at Mi Jing.

Facing his gaze, Mi Jing was still calm, which made Han Xiujie not only surprised but also disappointed.

Was there really no place for him in her heart anymore?

If not, the girl who used to blush when he glanced at her couldn’t possibly be so calm now!

"Can you push out for a walk?" Han Xiujie restrained his desolate expression and softly requested.

"Can you get out of bed?" Mi Jing had heard from Mi Wan that Han Bin had severely injured Han Xiujie, but she didn’t know how serious it was.

"Yes." Han Xiujie smiled faintly, "But I’ll need you to push the wheelchair over and then help a bit."

The wheelchair was in the corner. Mi Jing pushed it to the bedside, then silently helped Han Xiujie sit in the wheelchair.

From the outside, it appeared that Han Xiujie had injured his right leg and left hand, as only those two parts were in casts, while his right hand and left leg moved freely.

Han Xiujie studied fashion design, so his right hand was vital. This indicated that Han Bin had shown restraint and rcy.

"Where do you want to go?" Pushing Han Xiujie out of the room, Mi Jing asked while walking.

"Let’s go to the bridge." Han Xiujie said.

In this cold weather, did he want to go to the bridge to freeze?

However, Mi Jing couldn’t bring herself to voice her concern. Thinking he would ask to return if he got too cold, she decided to accompany him.

The cold wind howled. Mi Jing was well bundled with a scarf around her neck, so she didn’t feel too cold. But Han Xiujie was different; though he wore a down jacket, he wore only thin hospital clothes and pants underneath, providing no warmth.

"It’s cold here, let’s go back." Glancing at Han Xiujie’s purple lips, Mi Jing couldn’t stand it anymore. After all, he was a patient, and if he caught a cold and got a fever, wouldn’t she be an indirect culprit?

"Wait, I have sothing to ask you."

Han Xiujie gripped the wheelchair’s wheels tightly. Mi Jing couldn’t push him and couldn’t bring herself to leave him here, so she said, "Hurry up and ask."

"By visiting today, are you forgiving ?" Han Xiujie asked with a trace of hope, despite his nearly frozen body.

"It’s not about forgiveness. If you hadn’t let go back then, I might not have t Shen Lingxing. For that, I’m grateful, so I think whether the past was happy or not, it doesn’t matter anymore. What matters is the present and the future." Talking about Shen Lingxing, Mi Jing couldn’t help but feel elated, her words imbued with a smile. To others, it seed as if she and Han Xiujie were having a pleasant conversation.
