"Mm." He Zerui nodded obediently and said, "I was bored, so I played gas for a while."

Upon hearing this, Mi Wan paused and a touch of pity flashed in her eyes. "Do you really want to go out and play? Like other kids do."

"Not really." He Zerui’s face showed no expression, just as his words indicated, with no expectation of leaving the house.

Mi Wan had also heard Ji Dongquan ntion that He Zerui had autism, so his different thoughts and behaviors from other children were considered normal.

Children with autism tend to be quieter and prefer being alone. For them, familiar places like their own ho provide a stronger sense of security, so compared to going outside, he prefers staying at ho.

He Zerui walked into the kitchen two steps ahead of Mi Wan. Since he was taller than children his age, he didn’t need to stand on his toes. He easily lifted the shopping bags and placed them on the countertop.

"Aunt Wanwan, do you want so water?" After putting things down, He Zerui turned and asked Mi Wan blandly.

"Hmm, now that you ntion it, I do feel like having so." Mi Wan smiled and said.

"I’ll get you so water."

Watching He Zerui’s small figure walk out, the smile on Mi Wan’s face never faded. She kept smiling as she took items out of the shopping bags and skillfully organized them.

Just as she started cooking the rice, He Zerui walked in with a cup of warm water, followed by the middle-aged butler.

"Here, drink so water." He Zerui handed the cup to Mi Wan.

Receiving the cup, Mi Wan slowly finished the warm water and then handed the cup back to He Zerui.

To communicate more with He Zerui and give him more opportunities to do what he could, Mi Wan was always happy to accept his help. Over ti, they had developed a tacit understanding. Tasks like pouring water and carrying plates had beco He Zerui’s responsibilities, so he didn’t say much when he took the cup back and walked out.

Perhaps because of He Zerui’s reclusive personality and strong aura compared to other children, the butler and bodyguards were all very respectful of him. At this mont, after He Zerui left, Mi Wan could clearly sense the butler’s previously tense expression relax considerably.

"Miss Mi, let help you." Normally, the butler was in charge of cooking, but whenever Mi Wan was around, she took over the cooking because both Ji Dongquan and He Zerui loved her cooking.

With the butler’s help, cooking naturally saved so ti. By the ti Ji Dongquan returned, there was only one dish of vegetables left to cook.

Pouring so oil into the pot, Mi Wan turned to pick up the washed vegetables. Suddenly, she realized that the butler, who had been standing nearby, had left at so point, and Ji Dongquan had taken his place.

"Go wash your hands and get ready for dinner." Mi Wan glanced at Ji Dongquan, while pouring the vegetables into the pot, she said.

Ji Dongquan stood still, observing Mi Wan with a smile in his tea-colored eyes.

With a thought, Ji Dongquan took a few steps to stand behind Mi Wan. He hugged her from behind, burying his face in her neck, planting gentle kisses and nibbles, making Mi Wan’s ears turn red.

"Ji Dongquan, can you be a bit more proper?" Despite being affectionate, it was not the appropriate place; she was cooking, and the kitchen door was wide open. The butler or He Zerui could co in at any mont. Even as gentle and composed as Mi Wan was, she couldn’t allow him to do as he pleased.

"No."

Hearing Ji Dongquan’s straightforward answer, Mi Wan felt a wave of frustration. She set down the spatula in her hand, using both hands to pries Ji Dongquan’s arms from around her waist, urging, "Go wash your hands quickly."

But Ji Dongquan didn’t want to eat; he wanted to hold Mi Wan and not let go.

Standing still, Ji Dongquan’s arms wrapped around Mi Wan’s waist like creeping vines, hugging her tightly as he whispered in her ear, "Wanwan, you’re so gentle and virtuous, how can you be so cruel to ?"

"I’ve made ribs today, so if you want to eat, wash your hands and co for dinner." Mi Wan completely misunderstood Ji Dongquan’s words and replied in a very unromantic manner.

This woman, really...

A hint of frustration surged in Ji Dongquan’s heart. He bit Mi Wan’s earlobe, letting go when she gasped, washed his hands, and then walked out.

Be proper?

Hmph, towards her, he definitely wasn’t a proper person!

Ji Dongquan walked out, muttering to himself.

When Ji Dongquan ca out of the kitchen, He Zerui was already seated at the dining table. He walked over, pulled out a chair, and sat down. The two didn’t speak, glaring at each other, then both set their sights on the fragrant pot of ribs.

"Zerui, eat more ribs today." After the last mishap, Ji Dongquan didn’t dare compete with He Zerui for food anymore. This little rascal was too crafty. With just a small trick, he could ruin Ji Dongquan’s happiness.

"Sure, just rember to go easy on later."

Seeing He Zerui’s stance of monopolizing the ribs, Ji Dongquan’s face darkened slightly, then after a second, he smiled, saying, "Of course."

Given a choice between happiness and a delicious al, Ji Dongquan would undoubtedly choose the forr! Only a fool would give up the chance to get close to his woman for a bite of food.

Soon, Mi Wan brought out the vegetables from the kitchen, placed the dish down, and seated herself next to Ji Dongquan.

He Zerui had already served the rice. Seeing him staring eagerly at the steaming pot of ribs, Mi Wan smiled, picked up a spoon, and served so into his bowl. "Zerui, eat more."

Looking at the ribs in his bowl, He Zerui’s eyes sparkled with joy. He nodded heavily at Mi Wan and then grabbed his chopsticks, eating happily.

Since his parents passed away, He Zerui hadn’t felt this kind of warmth in a long ti. Though Ji Dongquan had cared for him over the years, their relationship was more like friends, buddies. Rarely did he feel paternal love from Ji Dongquan. Mi Wan’s presence was like a warm ray of sunshine in his cold, dark heart. Her gentleness, thoughtfulness, and genuine care made him feel maternal love again. Plus, her cooking brought back the taste of ho, delicious and nostalgic. Because of this, he was willing to interact with Mi Wan and enjoyed being close to her.

Seeing He Zerui eating heartily with a good appetite, Mi Wan felt very satisfied and picked up her chopsticks to eat. Just then, Ji Dongquan put a large spoonful of ribs into her bowl, saying considerately, "Wanwan, you’ve worked hard, eat more at."
