"Han Bin, since when did you beco so petty? Besides, is this really my fault? When you were in Africa, I couldn’t reach you at all. I tried calling but couldn’t get through, so I had to text you. And even after you ca back, you didn’t tell . How was I supposed to know whether you were still in so remote corner of Africa!" Mi Jing retorted angrily.

"Fine, it was petty of , it’s not your fault, it’s mine! But how could you get married so rashly? Didn’t we agree that you need my approval before marrying anyone?"

Did they really have such an agreent?

Mi Jing frowned, trying to recall. Quickly, the door of mory opened, and she vaguely rembered a certain afternoon when the two of them sat on a big tree at the farm, watching the beautiful sunset. It seed they did make such an agreent, but they were just kids back then — she was ten, he was twelve. Even though they swore by it, it gradually faded from her mory. If Han Bin hadn’t ntioned it now, she wouldn’t have rembered it at all.

"The situation was special back then. My sister was getting a divorce, and my mother was pressuring to get married. I happened to et a suitable and excellent match, so impulsively, I got married. I..."

Upon hearing this, Han Bin snorted coldly again and asked, "A suitable and excellent match?"

"Yeah! Didn’t Aunt tell you?" Mi Jing thought it was impossible for Aunt, who liked Shen Lingxing so much, not to ntion him to Han Bin.

"I’ve heard about it, but both you and my mom have terrible taste," Han Bin said disdainfully.

"I have terrible taste?" Mi Jing asked in disbelief and then questioned indignantly, "In what way do I have terrible taste?"

"Liking that bastard Han Xiujie is proof enough of your terrible taste!"

Han Bin’s words were like a knife to Mi Jing’s heart, as if exposing a previously bloody and raw wound, accompanied by waves of pain that made her feel embarrassed and left her without words to refute him.

Hearing no response from Mi Jing, Han Bin on the other end of the phone seed to realize he had misspoken. He said, "I’ll treat you guys to dinner tonight and see just how great your husband really is!"

The latter half of his sentence was spoken with added emphasis and a strange tone of aggression.

"I’ll think about it!" Mi Jing’s displeasure quickly dissipated, and she decided to put on a facade.

"I’ll give you one minute to think."

Hearing this, Mi Jing covered her phone and turned her attention to Shen Lingxing beside her. "My cousin invited us to dinner. What do you think?"

"Sure!" Shen Lingxing agreed readily, a glint of light flashing in his dark eyes that Mi Jing didn’t catch.

Getting Shen Lingxing’s response, Mi Jing imdiately uncovered her phone and said, "Dinner is fine, but I get to choose the place, or I won’t be happy!"

"Street food on Hubin Road, no other options!"

"Han Bin, did soone sodomize you while you were in Africa or sothing? You not only changed your temperant but also beca so stingy! How can you even suggest street food?" Mi Jing openly expressed her disdain for Han Bin.

"Hate to disappoint you, but I ate well and slept soundly in Africa. So people even wanted to sodomize , but I refused." Jokingly, Han Bin suddenly changed his tone and said, "It’s settled then, see you at six-thirty."

"Beep, beep—"

Hearing the busy tone on the phone, Mi Jing really wanted to throw her phone, but thinking of the money spent on it, she restrained herself.

After so much nonsense with Han Bin, Mi Jing felt her ears were burning. She rubbed them, but her hands were too warm to have much effect. Glancing around, she noticed Shen Lingxing’s finely-jointed large hand and imdiately grabbed it, placing it on the ear that had been holding the phone.

Actually, Mi Jing couldn’t really tell if Shen Lingxing’s body temperature was generally high or low. When she was in his arms, he felt warm, but right now, his hand was cold, just enough to cool down her ear.

"Do you want so hot water?" Mi Jing asked, holding Shen Lingxing’s big hand against her ear, her eyes sparkling as she curved her lips into a smile.

"No," Shen Lingxing said seriously, "I want to drink your saliva."

Mi Jing’s mouth twitched at his words, glaring at Shen Lingxing and saying, "Pretend I didn’t ask."

Shen Lingxing, however, seed preoccupied. His face was calm, and his eyes were deep, unlike his usual playful self.

A while later, the temperature of Mi Jing’s ear dropped, and Shen Lingxing’s hand was ward by her. Letting go of his hand, Mi Jing preemptively warned him, "Shen Lingxing, the place my cousin invited us to doesn’t exactly scream safety or class."

"Anywhere is fine." Shen Lingxing didn’t care where they ate. After listening to Mi Jing’s entire conversation with Han Bin, he realized she has a side she doesn’t show him.

Sotis, Mi Jing could be a bit obsessive, but in front of Shen Lingxing, she wouldn’t express herself as unrestrainedly as she did with Han Bin, which inevitably led him to ponder.

"Is street food okay?" Mi Jing asked seriously.

"Yes," Shen Lingxing affird.

"Won’t you feel a bit undervalued?"

"No." Hearing Mi Jing care so much about his feelings, Shen Lingxing smiled knowingly. That warm smile felt like a ray of sunshine, reaching the deepest part of Mi Jing’s heart.

"You’re the best, hubby!" Mi Jing couldn’t help but exclaim. She then rewarded Shen Lingxing with a kiss on the cheek and happily went upstairs to change clothes.

Hubin Road is a street beside South Lake, located in the suburbs, away from the bustling city. The surroundings are quite serene; however, a lot of students co here to eat. At night, the street food joints are booming with business. Unlike the quiet and leisurely dayti, it gets very lively with people coming and going. Hence, parking is impossible near the food stalls, and cars have to be parked in an open lot two hundred ters away.

Getting out of the car, Mi Jing walked hand in hand with Shen Lingxing through the crowd, confidently accepting the gazes from passersby. Occasionally glancing around, she noticed pairs of eyes filled with amazent, shining brighter than the streetlights.

Once again, it was proven that Shen Lingxing was truly a natural eye-catcher. His handso face, tall and slender figure, gentle and elegant deanor, and outstanding taste in clothing made him unmissable even in a dense crowd. Not to ntion others, even Mi Jing, who had been living under the sa roof with him for a while, couldn’t help but be srized by his good looks from ti to ti. Just like now, she couldn’t stop being awestruck by his handso face, absolutely smitten.
