160: Chapter 160: Understanding the Reasons Behind It 160: Chapter 160: Understanding the Reasons Behind It “Hello, Brother Zhang!” Yue Feng hurriedly greeted.

“Help take the storage box out of the trunk, let’s analyze it in the house, there are too many prying eyes here!”

“Okay!”

Soon, Old Liu took a large plastic storage box out of the trunk and entered the house with Zhang Fenglin.

After briefly asking about the source of the fish and the water conditions of the fishing area, Old Zhang started to get busy.

His preparation of bait was different from others, not shy about people watching, all his ingredients were unpackaged, stored in transparent plastic bags of varying sizes, resembling a herbalist weighing out dicine, adding a bit of this and a bit of that, and after mixing them, a nondescript concoction was ready!

With the bait ready, Old Zhang began preparing it on the spot, casually grabbing a small asuring cup and sorted out the bait in the food container.

The finished comrcial bait looked average, a yellow-gray color, leaning towards a grainy scent.

“Were the fish biting this morning, do they take to worms?

Did the comrcial dough bait work well, or did the worms?

Have you tried rubber pellet grains?” Old Zhang asked further.

“The worms weren’t effective; I used rubber pellet grains with Loose Powder all morning!” Yue Feng responded truthfully.

“In that case, the fish in the pond don’t really take to worms!

Then the water ratio in this bait is a bit low, let’s add so water and make the bait into a soft sticky consistency!” Zhang Fenglin continued.

At this point, Yue Feng was a bit confused.

What was the logical connection between not taking to worms and making soft sticky bait?

Yue Feng truly didn’t know.

“How should I understand this?

Could you explain it, I didn’t quite get it!” Curious, Yue Feng asked.

Zhang Fenglin pursed his lips and smiled, “This, the principle is quite simple, but it’s a long story, since we’re free, let’s just chat a bit!!

First, let’s talk about the source and classification of the fish.

For us fishern, the cultured carps available on the market also vary, not by quality but rather by the specific conditions of their upbringing!

So smaller aquaculture farrs, in order to save costs, might feed parts of cheaper soybean al, wheat bran, and distiller’s grains, etc.

Fish that have eaten these types of feed tend to be more sensitive to the Loose Powder state during fishing, as they have consud similar baits during their growth stages!

Larger and relatively formal aquaculturists might not feed these items, but solely use comrcial fish pellets.

These two different feeding experiences can create certain differences in the dietary preferences of carps, so being very sensitive to Loose Powder, while others respond exceptionally well to pellets, far surpassing comrcial baits!

Recognizing worms is another similar concept; carps might be cultivated in still water ponds or in flowing water cages.

Still water ponds naturally harbor bloodworms, which fish can naturally co into contact with during their growth.

However, for cages, generally located one or two ters below the water surface, fish hardly see bloodworms from young to old, it’s still the concept of recognizing what they eat, the first encounter might not result in good fishing performance!

Having discussed the basic theory, finally, the connection between recognizing pellets and not recognizing worms is even simpler; carps raised in cages are fed pellets from a young age, so they rember pellets.

And bloodworms live and reproduce in the mud at the bottom of the water, in the upper layers of water typical of cages, there’s virtually no presence of bloodworms, so it’s quite likely that fish comfortable with solid pellets may not recognize worms.

Because of the different modes of upbringing, what seem like unrelated issues are actually connected!”

After explaining the rationale, Yue Feng was thoroughly convinced!

No wonder Brother Liu held Zhang in such high regard.

Just these pieces of knowledge alone were unknown to over ninety-nine percent of common Black Pit anglers.

“So, making it into soft sticky bait is just to simulate the state of the particles after they enter the water?” Yue Feng asked, making an inference.

“Right!

The principle I ntioned might not be applicable one hundred percent of the ti, but when faced with similar fishing conditions, you can try it out.

Usually, within three to five casts, you can make a precise judgent!

Often, the difference in fish caught accumulates from these details, not just from any magical bait or magical additives!”

“I have learned a lot!” Yue Feng respectfully picked up the teapot and refilled Zhang’s tea.

“The bait is also ready.

Do we need to go to the pond and test it?” Zhang Fenglin asked curiously.

“No need!

Yue has a type of Doughballs Bait we had already tried before you ca and the results were good.

The one you’ve mixed, let’s use it as a backup for Yue to ensure our bait is unbeatable.

Handling the fish later shouldn’t be a problem!” Liu Fengnian said.

“Hehe, sounds good!

What ti does it start?

It’s almost ti, right?”

Liu Fengnian answered, “Five o’clock, we’ll start getting ready at four thirty.

We can go out after having so tea!”

“Alright!”

At four-thirty sharp, Yue Feng walked out of the cabin with Old Liu.

Li Cungen had spread the word about today’s fishing competition, and soone had let it slip.

Now at least twenty people were at the pond’s edge, so brought gear probably to fish overnight, and many others ca empty-handed, clearly just to watch the spectacle.

When they saw Yue Feng co out of the cabin, Zhou Tao and his group swaggered over.

“No wonder you’re so confident, you’ve brought Teacher Zhang along!

Hello, Teacher Zhang!” Zhao Dezong greeted him with respect.

“Zhao is as spirited as ever!

I was getting irritated staying ho to recuperate, and when I heard you guys were fishing here, I decided to co and have a look!” Zhang Fenglin greeted him with a smile.

Zhou Tao approached Yue Feng, “Are you ready?

Let’s find a spot and draw lots, and get our equipnt set up!”

“Sure!

I’m fine with anything, I’ll follow your arrangents!” Yue Feng said.

“Since Teacher Zhang is here, why don’t we ask him to help choose a fishing spot for us!” Zhou Tao was also very polite to Zhang Fenglin.

“Sure, I think the middle of the opposite side looks good!

It’s less crowded, and it avoids the oxygenator and edge spots!

Facing the sunset in the evening, it’s easier to watch the float and not get dazzled by the sun!” Zhang Fenglin casually pointed to an area between the central oxygenator and the edge on the south bank to the southwest.

“Great!

The opposite side then!”

Upon reaching the other side, Zhang Fenglin casually made two lots, and Yue Feng and Zhou Tao each drew one and quickly took their seats.

Yue Feng had already checked these two spots, and there were no grey areas with less or no fish, which was fairly standard.

As five o’clock approached, people who had co to fish surreptitiously began to enter the area, and Yue Feng and Zhou Tao both began preparing for the fishing competition.

From the mont he sat down, Yue Feng covertly observed Zhou Tao, who had a lump of soft sticky bait on the lid of his food box, and inside the box was a container of slightly larger-than-average moist Loose Powder.

While Yue Feng was observing others, Zhou Tao was also watching him.

When Zhao, Tao, and a few others saw Yue Feng take out a box of modified red worms from his Fishing Box, they couldn’t help but laugh.
