"Are you sure you want to jump together? But neither of you have bungee jumping experience, you might get hurt."

The staff reminded Caleb Lockwood and Serena Jennings.

"Yes, we will jump together."

Caleb replied decisively.

Serena stood at the edge of the cliff and glanced at Caleb beside her.

The wind blew her hair into disarray.

"You didn’t even ask if I wanted to jump with you."

As Serena said this, Caleb’s big hand already reached out, patiently helping her tidy up her ssy hair.

In Serena’s mory, Caleb’s hands were always cold.

Just like Caleb himself, indifferent and harsh.

At this mont, they stood on the cliff, the sea breeze fiercely salty and wet, penetrating through their bones.

Fortunately, Serena changed into workout clothes, otherwise she would definitely be shivering from the cold.

In contrast, Caleb’s hands had sohow turned warm.

The slightly rough fingertips brushed unintentionally against her cheek, bringing a trace of warmth.

Such a subtle warmth, yet incredibly, ward Serena’s entire body.

After tidying up her hair, Caleb finally answered Serena’s question slowly.

"I wanted to jump with you."

Seeing Caleb and Serena so calm, the staff confird again and helped them put on the safety gear.

Standing at the cliff edge looking down, the rocky bottom and unfathomable sea water below.

One would feel dizzy and a sense of weightlessness.

Weak knees and panic are the norm.

But Serena was unaffected.

Although it was her first ti bungee jumping, the thrill of challenging limits and the nerve-wracking feeling of hanging by a thread was not much different from racing cars.

So when she heard Caleb say he wanted to bring her bungee jumping, she had no objection.

In fact, she was even a bit excited.

Serena didn’t understand why Caleb deliberately brought her to bungee jump.

And she didn’t expect Caleb to have such strong psychological quality, standing side by side at the cliff, able to remain calm.

If Caleb had anything that made her see him in a new light, it would be the courage he showed at this mont!

"Aren’t you afraid?"

Serena asked Caleb instinctively.

Caleb glanced at Serena lightly and smiled.

"A little bit..."

Serena burst into laughter.

Caleb frowned.

"You’re laughing at ?"

"I’m not, I’m not."

Saying she wasn’t laughing, but the curve of Serena’s lips never subsided.

She was surprised that Caleb would honestly admit to being scared.

"I thought you feared nothing and nobody!"

This was Serena’s genuine thought.

Caleb chuckled, looking down at the abyss and the rolling waves.

"If I weren’t jumping with you, I might be more scared."

Serena gazed at Caleb’s angular profile, unable to discern from his calm face just how afraid Caleb was inside.

Under the staff’s guidance, Serena and Caleb jumped together.

No one backed out.

At the sa ti, a white Lexus parked below The Lockwood Group building.

After finishing his work, Ethan White wanted to invite Serena to dinner, but her phone couldn’t be reached.

By now, night had fallen.

Ethan couldn’t get hold of Serena, so he ca to find her personally.

He didn’t know where Serena was, but given her career focus, he guessed she might be at The Lockwood Group.

After all, The Lockwood Group was Serena’s largest current venture.

However, Serena wasn’t there.

Ethan learned from the soon-off-duty receptionist that Serena hadn’t returned to the company.

Returning to his car, Ethan’s mind was occupied.

Serena hadn’t returned to the company...

Her phone was unreachable...

In Ethan’s mind, Caleb Lockwood’s image appeared.

Currently, Caleb was Serena’s assistant, and also her driver.

In all likelihood, Serena was with Caleb.

Ethan’s hand clenched into a fist, hitting the steering wheel.

He thought that now Serena and Caleb were divorced, Serena could finally be free from Caleb’s entanglent.

To his surprise, Caleb shalessly beca Serena’s assistant.

Despite the divorce, the two seed closer than ever.

Ethan gritted his teeth, his usual gentle face showing rare anger.

He sharply turned the steering wheel, and the white Lexus dashed away from The Lockwood Group.

At this ti, the brightly lit city gradually dozed off, with more and more lights dimming.

But there was one street that remained bright as day even at midnight, bustling with voices.

Caleb grabbed two bottles of peanut drink, handing one to Serena.

He noticed Serena was looking at him incredulously.

"What’s wrong?" Caleb asked curiously.

"I didn’t expect you could eat at a place like this." Serena glanced around.

This was the night market.

She and Caleb were sitting at a roadside skewer shop’s outdoor seats.

The table was filled with various snacks Caleb bought along the way: stewed bean curd, grilled tofu skin, octopus balls, cold noodles, fried noodles, and roasted corn.

And they were waiting for their ordered skewers.

After bungee jumping, Serena’s stomach grumbled.

Bungee jumping didn’t seem to consu physical energy, but it actually drained energy more than imagined.

Especially after finishing an extre sport, the sense of release only heightened hunger.

As Serena’s assistant, Caleb naturally drove to find a restaurant for her.

At this ti, there were many restaurant options, though Serena hadn’t thought of the night market.

Caleb slowed down, asking if she wanted to grab so snacks at the nearby night market.

Serena hadn’t visited the night market in a long ti, and Caleb’s suggestion suddenly sparked her interest.

She originally thought Caleb would feel uncomfortable eating in such a place, but he seed more enthusiastic than her, wanting grilled tofu skin one mont and roasted corn the next.

Caleb even wanted to buy spicy snacks several tis, but Serena stopped him each ti.

"The skewers are here."

The server brought over freshly grilled at skewers, half sprinkled with chili powder and the other half without.

The ones not sprinkled with chili were for Caleb.

Serena picked up a reddish at skewer, enjoying it imnsely.

She realized Caleb was watching her, his eyes shining brighter than the surrounding lights.

"Do you want to try this?"

"Um..."

Caleb nodded honestly.

The chili-sprinkled skewers slled delicious.

"No way, I’m not sharing."

Serena rudely ate three skewers.

Caleb found it amusing.

He knew Serena wouldn’t let him eat spicy food to prevent his gastric problem from flaring.

Caleb picked up a non-spicy skewer.

The non-spicy skewer seed less flavorful than those sprinkled with chili, but knowing it was Serena’s way of caring for him, Caleb felt that these non-spicy skewers were the best-tasting food in the world.

Serena and Caleb savored their feast.

Especially Caleb, who devoured the various snacks.

While eating, Caleb heard Serena’s laughter.

"What’s wrong? Is my eating funny?"

Caleb asked Serena, who shook her head.

"No, I’m laughing at myself..."
