Varian slightly paused at Orion’s calm yet pointed question, his sharp amber eyes narrowing thoughtfully as he leaned back into his chair.

The room, previously buzzing with the intensity of their conversation, suddenly grew silent, the faint sounds of breathing and shifting bodies becoming audible in the oppressive silence. Varian t Orion’s gaze calmly, clearly understanding the significance of his inquiry.

"What do you want in return?" Varian finally asked in a deep and calm voice.

Orion’s lips curled into a faint smile, tinged subtly with amusent, as he slowly shook his head. "What could you even offer us, Duke Varian? We hail from a higher world. Every resource or treasure you possess, we have access to superior versions. Your weapons, your artifacts, your cultivation resources, all would be redundant to us."

The statent fell heavily upon everyone in the room. The temperature seed to drop noticeably, a sense of growing tension and uncertainty quickly filling the chamber.

The Tigerkin elders sitting opposite Orion’s group visibly stiffened, their tails flicking anxiously behind them as their expressions hardened, their eyes reflecting a mixture of concern and unease.

At Orion’s side, his club mbers subtly straightened in their chairs, their expressions turning serious as the group prepared for any possible battle, their mana surging through them.

Duke Varian studied Orion’s composed expression carefully, his amber gaze unwavering. For a mont, it seed as though the tenuous negotiations might devolve into outright hostility.

Then, with a long, weary exhale, Varian visibly relaxed, his rigid posture easing slightly as he nodded in resigned understanding.

"Very well," Varian finally responded, his tone heavy yet resolute. "Then allow to offer sothing unique, sothing that perhaps even your higher world cannot easily grant you."

Orion’s dual-colored eyes subtly narrowed in curiosity, waiting patiently for Varian to continue.

Varian leaned forward slightly, his expression turning solemn yet sincere as he explained carefully, "If you and your friends aid us in this war, I will personally ensure you receive the opportunity to challenge the Tower’s trials."

Orion remained quiet, carefully observing Varian’s serious deanor. His own initial reaction was mild dissatisfaction, because when the fight truly begins, it wouldn’t be in the Tigerkin’s hands whether Orion and his group go for the Tower’s trial or not.

But he was also looking for an excuse to help them, as he didn’t want any direct conflict with the people of this world. And he also understood that the Duke’s offer was probably the very limit of what the Felian Kingdom could provide.

He quietly glanced around at his companions, silently assessing their reactions.

Arya softly nodded her head with a gentle smile, clearly in agreent. Nyss just quietly looked at him, her eyes showing clear approval. Emilia, Sylvia, Kale, Felira, and Elias all similarly nodded in subtle agreent, silently acknowledging that, although sowhat underwhelming, this opportunity was the best possible reward this struggling world could offer.

Having gained his companions’ consensus, Orion calmly turned his gaze back toward Varian. "Very well then," he agreed quietly, voice firm yet calm. "We shall assist your kingdom in fighting against this anomaly."

Instantly, a wave of relieved tension visibly swept through Varian and the elders. Varian nodded gratefully, his voice filled with genuine sincerity. "Your willingness to help us is deeply appreciated, Young Warrior. With your help and so others, perhaps we can finally turn this desperate situation around."

The remainder of their discussion focused ticulously on sharing detailed information regarding the anomaly.

Varian described in depth the outsider’s powerful and ruthless abilities, battle tactics, and known alliances. Orion and his companions listened carefully, making ntal notes and quietly exchanging insights, preparing themselves thoroughly for the challenges ahead.

Afterward, Orion and his group settled into a comfortable guest room provided by House Kaelen.

Soft evening sunlight gently filtered through the windows, casting warm golden rays upon the cozy furnishings of the chamber.

Orion sat thoughtfully near a large, polished wooden table, while Arya, Emilia, Nyss, Sylvia, Kale, Felira, and Elias positioned themselves comfortably around him, their expressions contemplative as they quietly discussed their current predicant.

Arya was the first to softly break the contemplative silence, her voice gentle yet troubled. "This world... it’s in a worse state than we had anticipated."

Orion nodded slowly, leaning back in his chair as he sighed softly. "Indeed. Their endless war over that tower has nearly exhausted their resources and destroyed countless lives. And now, with this powerful anomaly leading one faction, the entire world is approaching its breaking point."

Sylvia crossed her arms thoughtfully, her calm voice tinged with mild disapproval. "It’s unfortunate. Such endless conflict over greed and ambition often leads civilizations toward destruction. Neither side seems willing to compromise until they’ve lost nearly everything."

Nyss, who had remained quiet up until this point, spoke softly, her icy gaze fixed calmly upon the floor. "Yet, from their perspective, that tower represents their only path of ascension. For those with limited horizons, such a chance would indeed drive them into madness."

Felira nodded slowly, her gentle eyes filled with quiet sadness. "It’s still tragic, though. The innocent people suffer most while the powerful fight endlessly over a fleeting chance at ascension."

Elias shook his head with mild frustration, voice slightly bitter. "Honestly, why can’t they just share access to the tower peacefully? With cooperation, both races might’ve ascended long ago."

Kale raised an eyebrow, his voice softly sarcastic yet resigned. "Unfortunately, Elias, logic rarely prevails in the face of centuries-old hatred and bitterness."

Emilia sighed softly, her expression carrying resignation. "Indeed. Our only realistic choice now is to prevent further tragedy by defeating this anomaly. Perhaps afterward, we can guide them toward a more reasonable path."

Orion leaned forward slightly, his dual-colored eyes calmly eting each of his friends’ gazes as he spoke with calmness. "Our first priority is our own safety. If the anomaly proves to be far stronger, then we’ll run at the first opportunity. No one is allowed to hesitate."

The others exchanged glances and quietly nodded their heads in agreent with Orion’s cautious stance.

After a mont of contemplative silence, Elias leaned back and stretched his arms with an audible sigh. His expression was restless as he looked around at the group. "What now though? Are we just supposed to lie around here and wait for this war to break out?"

All eyes imdiately shifted towards Orion, each pair reflecting curiosity and expectation. Orion himself didn’t imdiately answer. Instead, he calmly looked out the window, observing the fading light of day over the distant rooftops of Valoria.

A slight seriousness crossed his face, and after a thoughtful pause, he finally admitted softly, "I don’t know."

The others stared at him quietly for a mont, their lips subtly twitching at his overly mysterious response.

Elias rolled his eyes dramatically, clearly annoyed at Orion’s vague reply. Standing up abruptly, he stretched once more before announcing, "Well, I’m done sitting around. I’ll go explore the city for a bit. Anyone else interested?"

Felira giggled softly, quickly jumping up beside Elias with an enthusiastic nod. "Yes! We didn’t have much of a chance to look around earlier because of this eting. Now’s the perfect ti to explore."
