The child was far from a fool. Even if he was only born a couple of minutes ago.

There was no way he was just going to saunter off with so entity he didn't even know. Much less one he couldn't even look at.

"Fun..?" The word sounded foreign coming out the demon child's mouth. "I don't believe-"

Spare from listening to your refusal. What other choices do you have? Stay in this universe that is about to die and be rewritten, or break free and spread a little mayhem with .

The baby heard sothing that piqued his interest irrevocably.

"The universe… this?" The baby made a gesture of 'fullness' with his arms.

What a smart boy. Only a couple of minutes old and already acquiring a basic understanding of cosmic otherness and his role in eternity. Aren't you gifted.

The child didn't know why, but listening to praise from this individual was almost grating in a way. He didn't really want it at all.

"How are you so certain this is about to end?"

The child watched his reflection place his hand on his chin and assud a thoughtful expression.

It is difficult for to explain it to you. You can attribute it to the fact that my brother's not very unpredictable, but I also happen to have a rather exemplary gift for foresight.

The child wasn't sure what he hated more. Hearing the entity complint him, or complint itself.

Just know that if you and I ever hope to have any fun, then you might find it in your best interest to co with now.

"I told you, I have no need for fun."

No? The reflection asked mockingly. Then what do you plan to do with all of your ti?

The child's answer was instantaneous. "I will lead the entire demon army up the steps to heaven, and then-"

The reflection blew a raspberry. Imdiately earning the ire of the newborn child.

"What was that..?"

That's boring! Pick sothing else, sothing better!

"I pick nothing, I only abide by my responsibilities and-"

Booooooooooo!!! The reflection put down both thumbs.

The child threw a hellish fireball at the mirror and shattered it imdiately.

Now why's you go and do that? You're too young to be lashing out of anger and destroying things like this.

"I was hoping it would make you be silent for good. My hopes have proven to be thoroughly trounced upon."

There was a bottle filled with so kind of wine on the shelf nearby. The child could see 'his' reflection staring back at him again with a pitying look.

He had decided that he didn't like living very much if all that was going to happen was he kept running into people like this.

Ruling an army of demons is so boring, you know? They're so one note, and it's been done so many tis before, and they're all ugly, and they-

"It matters little. My destiny was scribed before I burst into creation. I will take control over the army of demons and march on the White City. Then I shall kill the son of god in the endwar."

I don't think you can actually march on the White City in this tiline though?

"...And why not?"

Soone ate it.

The child was once again wondering why he had decided to stand here and listen to this clearly insane being.

Oh, don't look at like that, puffy cheeks.

"You will refrain from calling 'puffy cheeks'." He glowered.

I shan't.

Suddenly, the reflection in the bottle shifted into a new figure.

Now, the child was staring at a man much larger and more intimidating than him. A primordial beast perhaps.

This one is currently keeping heaven stored away inside of his tummy. And I highly doubt that he would let you near him if you told him that your goal was to slaughter a bunch of angels.

"Then I chase him. And cut his stomach open."

Wow, you really are only two minutes old, aren't you..?

Though it was a fact, that really did sound like an insult. The child's impression of this being took a further nosedive.

You shouldn't be worried about dealing with him. You shouldn't be worried about dealing with angels. If you want to know true joy, true splendor, then broaden the scope of your horizons beyond what you believe to be your 'destiny'.

The child furrowed his brow. "But destiny is-"

Allow to tell you a little sothing about destiny, puffy cheeks. Fate goddesses are either the weakest, or the most powerful deities to ever walk the dust of creation. Do you know why?

"..." The demon child shook his head.

Because they only have as much power as an individual believes they have over them. If you want to break free from them, you and anyone else are free to do so at any ti.

Fate goddesses and those of destiny just see the future, and inscribe it. If you drastically change your life's direction, they record those changes and your new future. But it is never not you who holds the reigns.

Unless you are in direct contact with an angry one, then they can't control you. If you want to do sothing different, then all you have to do is step of the beaten path at any ti and make your own. It truly is that simple.

The child felt sothing in him flower. Sothing new.

Curiosity.

An integral piece of developnt for not just a child, but any being who hopes to unlock their potential over the course of their life.

How much of what the child actually wanted to do was just subliminal programming from his ti in his mother's womb?

He hadn't exactly put much thought into the idea yet, but again, he was only a couple of minutes old. He hadn't thought much of anything yet.

He needed more ti to investigate this new information and phenona.

As if she sensed this, Chaos decided to add the icing on the cake.

I can't linger here too much longer, young one. Or else my presence will start to destabilize the realm. And there's no way he won't notice that.

The child stared into the bottle again.

His brows furrowed. As unsure as he was over his own motivations, he was just as unsure of this entity's.

And as naive as he might've been, he still didn't believe that anyone, anywhere did sothing for purely altruistic motivations.

Shady-hellish-chaos entities even less so.

But as it said, he was running out of ti to make a decision.

"...I still want to rule demons."

Fine. Chaos rolled it's eyes.

"And I will not allow you to call infuriating nas."

You are an uncountable number of years too late to stop .

The demon child gritted it's teeth.

Are you done yet? I estimate that we have around forty-five seconds before he notices , and the spell you need to cast before leaving takes at least thirty.

"Spell?" The puffy-cheeked baby tilted his head.

No ti to explain. Just do as I say.

The child didn't like being bossed around, but he did what he was told anyway.

And thirty seconds later, he was staring at a homunculus of his father that looked, talked, and acted just like the real thing.

"You got your good looks from , you know?" Lucifer mocked.

"...I wish I could kill you a second ti."

No ti for jokes now. Co along.

The child looked around the room. "Where?"

Walk through the door. Right now.

The child did as he was asked and walked through the door, leaving his unconscious mother, and fake father behind.

Instead of remaining inside Lucifer's palace, he erged sowhere else entirely. Sowhere the human mind could neither survive, nor imagine.

- {Current Tiline : Approximately Two Human Years after Lucifer's Rebellion.}

Lucifer sat atop his throne, coughing up blood from the wounds that still hadn't healed.

On the outside, his body was wracked with burns from heavenly fla and a few cuts from a blade of heaven.

He estimated that it would take another 10,000 years to heal all this damage.

"Husband, let help you..."

Igrat ca from the side of Lucifer's throne. She applied a salve to his wounds.

He winced slightly, but this pain was nothing compared to the initial injuries.

Igrat beca tearful. "I'm sorry... As much as we've tried, nothing else seems to grow here, so I'm afraid that..."

Lucifer placed a finger over her lips as he nodded.

"It's hardly sothing that you have any bla for...I can only assu this is all apart of my punishnt for rebelling against hi-"

"Brother."

A flash of light appeared in the hall. And from it, Michael appeared in his pure and regal white robes.

"...It has been a long ti. We need to talk."

Lucifer nearly exploded with rage. His wounds even reopened spontaneously.

"How… dare you..! You think you can just co into my ho after everything that you have done and just-"
