Mateo felt the ground rumbling underneath his designer shoes.

He grabbed Radu over his eyes and held them closed.

"W-What-"

"Silence."

Mateo’s decision proved wise when the entire roof of a building was blown apart by a column of red energy and blue water.

As the waves flooded the streets, a figure descended from the pillar of power.

It was no longer a man, more so an embodint of power. The swirling black and red of it’s flesh was dotted with stars of the purest white. Their glow was almost as magnificent as the twin-colored hair that billowed above his head.

Mateo blinked, and Abaddon was before him, hovering underneath the dark red sky ominously.

He knew already that his brother-in-law must have known everything already. And judging by the pressure radiating off him, he had seen the horrors firsthand.

"What is it?"

Abaddon spoke with no mouth, but his words, as well as his lack of patience, were easily conveyed to his brother-in-law.

Mateo rubbed the back of his head. "You... need to hear this." He turned to Radu and shook him by the head. "You. Speak."

The weaker vampire snarled at him. "What are you doing!? Let go of this instant! I tell you, you don’t know what you’re doing, you dodgering old fool! I tell you, I am ordained by one of the chosen!

I am his arm! Going against is the sa as going against him, and going against him is the sa as challenging Vovin! Surely you know of his imnse strength and don’t- Gurk!"

Radu suddenly felt soone new grabbing him by the neck.

His eyes uncovered, he ca face-to-face with an entity he didn’t recognize. But one that terrified him to the depths of his very soul.

His eyes burned just from looking at him. It was every bit as agonizing as staring into the sun.

"...Speak now, child. Were your words just now a spell of falsehoods?"

Radu trembled fearfully. . "N-No... B-But they said that you had-"

"I will not ask you a second ti." Abaddon’s grip beca ever firr.

Gasping for air, Radu scratched uncontrollably at Abaddon’s arms, but his hands helplessly sank into them. It was as if the drago’s entire body was made of gas...

"Ti’s up."

Abaddon’s third eye opened impossibly wide, and Radu’s entire body went rigid. His burning eyes rolled into the back of his head as drool spilled past his lips.

Information was ripped directly from the mind of the weaker vampire. In turn, Abaddon received a bit of... enlightennt. In his anger, Abaddon crushed Radu’s head with less effort than it took him to lift his tail.

The Earth did not belong to the gods anymore. Nor the humans. It was the monsters who had claid this place for themselves.

The surface was dangerous. In response to the explosive introduction of mana into the world, animals had twisted and mutated into things far beyond what Eris, or Yesh, had originally created.

They wrought chaos and pandemonium across the land. That was until the Chosen arose to ta the chaos.

The Chosen ca forward, boasting of their imnse power and gifts said to be handed down directly from the great Dark Dragon himself.

Basillius the Man-Eater. A werewolf said to be able to turn into a wolf as large as a mountain, and capable of letting loose a howl that could be heard thousands of miles away. The actual mbers of his pack numbered in the tens of thousands. It is rumored that they share so of his power.

Raciel The Mist. A witch they claid had drunk the blood of Abaddon himself. As a result, her magic is so extraordinarily powerful that they say she can manipulate ti on a whim, or speed it up forward and backward. Her territory is difficult to pin down. It is the kind of place that one never finds twice unless she wants you to. The entire region is covered in a thick cloud of nether, said to be made

Argul of Avarice is a demon who has apparently been on earth long before the end war actually started. Unlike the others who deal in violence and protection, Argul deals in trade. His territories are where lost souls go to obtain things that the apocalypse has deprived them of.

Jamaerah the Bat God is the na of the chosen whom Radu was boasting about with such fervor. A vampire who arose to fill the void left by Mateo’s absence. He is rumored to be just as powerful as Mateo, but exponentially more cruel.

Jamaerah is apparently responsible for the supply chains. He has nurous other cities like the one they stood in currently, governed by n he has anointed into higher positions, like Radu.

In each city, there are at least five different farms. The only reason this one had only a single one is that this place was relatively new. The rest of the farms help ship out blood to the other cities with a vampire population.

The chosen believed that diversifying the number of monsters underneath them would ensure that their blanket weaknesses could not be used against them. Still, they took precautions. Basillius and Jaarah had worked to eradicate all silver, garlic, iron, and holy relics that they could find.

Their only real force of opposition in this world were the fallen gods and a very, very small group of human hunter clans who still lived. But it wasn’t enough. All they could manage to do was kick the hornet’s nest and run away afterward.

The Chosen’s might was formidable. This only further fueled the rumors that they were creatures blessed by Vovin himself.

Abaddon felt his rage building. The space around him began to distort as the air began to simr.

"Those weak, spineless little fucks...!"

Gods, no matter their age or power, are famously sensitive about their nas. Slander, in any form, was imdiate grounds for retaliation.

And Abaddon would never have his na associated with such thoughtless cruelty.

The re fact that they had claid to do all of this in his na made him angrier than he had been in decades. And his body reflected it.

Abaddon’s body ballooned astronomically.

He beca a colossal black loong, with scales like the swirling cosmos and a body that spanned for miles upon miles, until he seed to be the only thing taking up the sky.

As water flooded the city below, Abaddon roared hatefully from above.

From his body, creatures began to fall from his scales.

Swarms of pitch-black locusts. Eldritch horrors of shifting shape and creatures that appeared as floating eyeballs with the wings of dragons.

Not to ntion komodo dragons as large as African elephants that had horns coming out of their heads and breathed fire.

The creatures dropped out of the sky by the hundreds. The thousands.

The millions...

As they were born, in their minds, they held only a singular drive and purpose. It was echoed by their maker and heard nearly across the entire hemisphere.

"MY CHILDREN!!! FIND THOSE REPULSIVE FUCKS EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO RAZE DOWN WHATEVER CROSSES YOUR PATH!!!!!"

Mateo held his hands over his ears to keep himself from going deaf.

"Well... I did tell him it would make him mad."
