Capítulo 1094: Aftershocks

Lucifer appeared inside a dark room.

He could feel his brother’s will gnawing at the inside of his soul, pleading with him to be free.

He arrived at the conclusion that it might be best to leave Michael inside for now at least until he cald down.

Lucifer wasn’t a naive man. He didn’t expect to have his brother’s forgiveness.

He just wanted the chance to be able to talk to him whenever he wanted again. That was more than enough.

Lucifer started to make his way out of the room, but his foot struck sothing solid.

He looked down and saw the lifeless body of his son lying on the floor. His eyes were still wide open.

Percival was a ticulous sort. He barely even left his room without making duplicate bodies.

But all of those bodies were still tied to his essence. And with that absorbed by another force, these bodies of his were as good as fish food.

“…”

Lucifer looked both ways over his shoulder.

He took a small pee break on his son’s body before sending it up in fla. Flipping off the corpse in the anti.

His ear suddenly picked up the sound of vibrations coming from the other side of the door.

Seconds later, there was a fierce knocking that splintered the wood. Lucifer could see three very panicked demons on the other side.

“M-My lord, we-”

“Yo.” Lucifer tipped his horns to the demons.

“””Old King!!””” The demons gasped in shock.

“More like The One True, my dimwitted demons. And Paimon.”

The last living mbers of the Ars Goetia were so baffled they could hardly make a sound.

“I guess the plan of going and antagonizing Abaddon didn’t work as well as he thought it would. Shocker.”

Paimon felt imnsely vindicated in his hypothesis.

“What happened to-”

“A bit of child rearing was in order. The long overdue sort.”

Lucifer started rummaging around the room for clothes before realizing he could make his own.

“Anyway, I’ve sent the little one off to his room and the adults will be taking over the day-to-day operations of the demon race.”

Looks of elation showed up on the faces of the demons.

One by one, they all lowered themselves onto one knee.

“Then once again, My King, let us swear our allegiance to-”

“Please, don’t try to suck off here. I promise my ego is already quite healthy and there’s no way you could fit your mouth around it if you know what I an.”

The demons laughed nervously. They felt more gratitude than they knew how to express.

If you had to choose between leaders, the laid-back charismatic was vastly superior to the hedonistic zealot.

“What happened to the others?”

“Dead.” Baal answered.

The various holes in his chest said that he wasn’t far away from joining them.

“Oof. So I’m the only one here with good news?” Lcifer complained.

The demons had no response to that. It hadn’t been a very good day at all.

Lucifer sighed and shook his head. He went back to staring into the roaring flas in the room.

“Well, it’s not like it matters. That’s what all of you have lieutenants for anyway. It’s just ti for the next generation to step up.”

The demon Paimon intruded into the room. Lucifer thought he was moving funny, and that was when he realized his servant was missing a leg.

“This alleged good news you have… What is it..?” He asked respectfully.

Lucifer, surprisingly, cracked a small smile at the question. He continued watching the flas twist and dance as if they were the greatest source of entertainnt the woman would ever know.

“A woman nad Karliah.”

“I’m not familiar?”

“No, I suppose you wouldn’t be. It’s not as if she leaves the house much. But if we can get our hands on her, then it’ll turn things around for us trendously. Every demon can have a power equivalent to the Seraphim.”

Needless to say, the demons were elated to hear this. The looks of excitent on their faces couldn’t be hidden, no matter how hard they tried.

“Easy now. It’s too soon to get our hopes up.” Lucifer shook his head. “She won’t be easy to get to, and let’s just say that she’s… well guarded. Patience is the na of the ga here.”

The demons looked a little less excited. Patience wasn’t exactly a strong suit of the demon race. Even less so for those who stood at the pinnacle of it.

Lucifer turned around and grabbed a wooden chair in the corner of the room.

Pulling it out, he lounged in the seat like a content housecat.

“Pull up a chair, gentlen. Lick your wounds and get comfortable, because I’m afraid we’re all going to be here for quite a while.”

As the demons limped around looking for places to sit, Lucifer ford a cigarette in his hand and placed it between his lips; already lit.

While the smoke filled his godly new lungs, Lucifer’s eyes were deeply contemplative.

Things had gone to hell quickly, but their exit had placed them in the perfect position.

No doubt Abaddon and the rest of his family would believe Percival was still out there making moves and scheming. They were paranoid like that.

In the anti, Lucifer and his demons would have all the ti in the world to sit and sche.

‘I think it’s almost that ti… wonder when we’ll get to hear those horns.’

Abaddon and his family all arrived at ho at the exact sa ti.

When they appeared in the burning ss that used to be the living room, their extended family was already in the middle of a tearful reunion with their own version of Eris.

Abaddon almost couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Even Satan looked to be crying.

‘Well, I guess it’s not as if I don’t understand…’ He thought.

Abaddon moved around the pile of bodies that hadn’t yet noticed him and walked over to the barrier covered in shadows.

He waved his hand over the surface and revealed the man inside.

Where he expected to find Percival, he found only an unconscious man lying on the floor. His chest was steadily rising and falling as if he were in a blissful sleep.

“I-Is he..?”

Abaddon didn’t hear Yemaja approach him from behind. The nervous look on her face was hard for him to witness as a father.

“…I don’t know. The body is asleep for now, so I can’t tell who’s piloting it. We’re just going to leave him inside for now and monitor him carefully.”

Yemaja swallowed. “L-Let in there and i’k=ll-”

“No.”

“I need to know if he’s still in there! I could help get him out!”

“We’re not running that risk right now.” Abaddon denied. “It would be irresponsible to let you in when we don’t have any clue what’s going on right now.”

“But-”

“Yemaja. I said no.”

Yemaja didn’t want to hear that. Not even a little bit.

On a day when emotions were already running high, Yemaja didn’t see her father’s refusal as an effort to protect her. She saw them as an inkling of resentnt.

She felt angry with her father for reasons she couldn’t explain. Angry enough that she didn’t even want to see him at the mont.

Abaddon felt Yemaja’s hostility for him, and it gave him quite the shock.

He started to think that maybe he should retry his delivery, to at least give his daughter the consolation she might have needed.

But he didn’t get a chance. She was gone before he ever even saw her leave.

“I’ll go after her…” Thrudd volunteered.

“No.” Abaddon sighed against his better instincts. “Just leave her be for now..”

“Are you sure…?” Thrudd questioned.

‘Of course not…’ He thought.

Instead of answering, Abaddon reached into the pile of sobbing bodies and pulled out Satan by his collar.

“Uncle. What happened after we left?”

Remarkably, Satn had been crying so hard that his eyes were puffy and his entire face was slick. Abaddon would have taken a picture for posterity and blackmail if he had been in a better mood.

“O-Oh, that… T-The evil overlord suddenly summoned his dad and Uncle and made them jump us, but it was weird. We thought they were just skittish of our numbers at first, but then your grandpa realized they were trying to nab Karliah.”

“WHAT!?”

Bekka’s shrill shriek crumbled what was left of this wing of the house and shocked everyone else in the room.

She imdiately ran up to her husband and snatched Satan out of his grip; shaking the demon like a child’s teething toy.

“Speak! Where the hell is my mom!?”

Satan was pretty sure his brain was going to turn into a milkshake at this rate. And Bekka, glutton that she was, would likely drink it.

“S-S-S-S-She’s f-f-f-f-f-f-f-ine!”

“Stop stuttering!”

“You have to stop shaking him for that…” Abaddon reminded.

Bekka’s expression almost broke as she realized what she was doing. Satan’s eyes were rolling around in his sockets like loose golf balls.

“We… sent her away with bougie-girl’s bougier sister…” Satan finally revealed.

Audrina took no offense. She wouldn’t apologize for liking nice things.

“What did he want with her!? Why was he trying to grab my mom!?” Bekka asked again, applying more force into her hands.

“Ack! We don’t know! But we protected her, even though she’s a huge pain in the ass! Then Eris showed up and the dickless duo left!”

Bekka finally dropped Satan when he failed to tell her anything useful.

The sour look on her face confird that none of this was over for her. Not by a long shot.
