Chapter 704: Demonised
The mory of Charles's grueso killing incident surfaced in Reynolds's mind.
"Expect for Reynolds, all of you should leave the house. Whether you inform the Cardinal hiding in my estate or even the Pope himself, I don't care." Charles paused as he looked in the direction where his villa was located and instantly released his wisdom power.
The next instant, everyone in the city, even Cardinal and his other friends staying in the Wind Villa, suddenly felt suffocating.
Although it only lasted for two seconds, Cardinal and his other friends realized that they were gazed at by a Legendary Powerhouse and hurriedly looked in the direction of Riverdale City.
Head Deacon David was so familiar with this kind of oppressive force and knew that they had offended soone they shouldn't.
'Even His Holiness's spiritual aura isn't as powerful as this!'
He dropped the dagger and instantly bowed his head, greeting him.
"Head Deacon of the Life Church greets his Excellency."
Charles didn't even look at him as he removed the invisible strings from the silver-armored lady and added.
"You guys have 5 minutes. If anyone other than Bishop Reynolds stays in my house, I'll not hesitate to slit your throat."
"W-We'll leave imdiately, Your Excellency!" Head Deacon David turned pale as he heard the warning and hurriedly stood up.
"We are leaving," He glanced at the other two red-robed n and the Silver armored lady nad Mary and urged them to follow him, leaving Reynolds dumbfounded.
As Head Deacon David and others reached the entrance and helped the High Priest wake up, Charles thought of sothing and added,
"Also, inform the Cardinal of yours that Charles Nightwind is here for a small talk. Tell him I'm also holding S-13 if he refuses to co."
"Yes, Your Excellency." Head Deacon didn't even turn around as he grabbed the half-unconscious High Priest and dragged him out of the house.
Before long, all the Life Church mbers left the house and hurriedly moved to the Life Church.
"They finally left. I thought they would argue back, but this is good." Charles nodded satisfactorily and waved his hand, casting the [Ignis Sanctuary] spell.
A mont later, a golden forcefield-like structure made of pure lawful fla suddenly appeared outside the two-storied house and enveloped it.
"Now, let's see what to do with your current situation." Charles finally shifted his attention towards Bishop Reynolds and continued.
"Take off your robe, Father. I'll take a look at how ssy your current body is."
A hesitant look appeared on Bishop Reynolds's face. At that mont, countless questions were whirling in his head, wondering why the Head Deacon bowed his head towards Charles. But he soon shook his head and removed the eyeglasses first.
After that, he put the wooden cane on the nearby table and slowly took off his white robe.
The next instant, Charles couldn't help but widen his eyes.
Wrinkled dark skin with creepy vertical eye patterns appeared all over his body, and his whole upper body seed to be invaded by so spider-like black webs. At the center of his heart region was a strange transparent egg-like orb structure filled with nothing but reddish liquid. He saw a fist-sized fleshy thing floating within the egg and appeared to be incubating. But as Charles looked deep, he soon realized it looked more like a tiny humanoid creature.
Whenever Bishop Reynolds's heart beat, the transparent reddish orb also resonated and glowed eerily occasionally.
"Demonised." Runeth instantly identified the cause and muttered solemnly.
"It looks more like a Parasite. It seems to be sucking his life force continuously and growing. Do you know what is happening in his body, old man?" Charles also observed the unique mutation happening in Reynolds's body and asked.
"Yes. Currently, his body is infected by a demon's parasite. When his life force completely vanishes, the parasite inside that orb will hatch and beco a new demon with Reynolds's soul." Runeth answered solemnly.
"Is it like replacing his original consciousness and taking over the soul Core itself?" As Charles spoke, he instantly cast the [Purple Consciousness] spell and sent it into Reynold's Inner World.
A second later, the Purple Charles entered Reynolds's Inner World, stood in a desolate land, and noticed his eerie dark surroundings.
But all of a sudden, an overwhelming force appeared from ahead, causing the Purple Charles to almost fall.
But he instantly created a shield of purple fla, blocking the pressure, and looked ahead.
The next instant, the Purple Charles saw an eerie, towering humanoid monster with three creepy heads start walking in his direction.
Suddenly, the three-headed humanoid monster's left side head's creepy vertical eyes blinked, instantly attracting Purple Charles's attention.
A second later, Purple Charles's Consciousness was enveloped in the sa purple fla and slowly vanquished, leaving no trace behind.
"Charles... No, John Browning... What an interesting toy. Hmm? Why do I feel a familiar presence?" An ancient voice resounded from the endless void as it tried to probe further but suddenly t with a severing connection.
At that mont, all the eerie vertical eye patterns on Reynolds' body started to vibrate and blinked for a mont before returning to normal.
Upon watching this, Charles felt eerie goosebumps all over his body and stepped back.
At the sa ti, Runeth released his wisdom power and waved his hand while dropping a unique golden ring with seven leaf patterns.
"Seven Leaf- Activate!"
As he spoke, the whole living hall was enveloped in reddish light, blocking the eerie probing power from Reynolds' body.
Soon, countless rune arrays appeared under Reynolds' feet, wrapping him whole.
Before long, those mysterious rune arrays disintegrated into countless rune words, aligned in a straight line, and crept toward his body like slithering snakes. Then, all those lines settled onto those vertical eyes and started blocking them.
As the reddish light completely vanished from the living room, Charles relaxed a bit and spoke in a grim tone.
"It's a Divine's probe, isn't it? I also felt soone's stare from sowhere."
"I noticed it, too. And its stare is so powerful that it almost made think of that Ti God monster. Strangely, I felt it sowhat familiar." Runeth paused for a mont and soon looked at Charles.
"But aren't you attracting too many enemies? For twenty years, I felt no threat in the Rebirth Tower and enjoyed a relaxed life. But it hasn't been even a few days, but I almost attracted another monstrous enemy." At that mont, he felt like Charles was a natural disaster.
"I didn't do anything on purpose," Charles grumbled inwardly and soon asked.
"But what the heck was that? My Purple Consciousness also died in a blink and didn't send any information from Father Reynolds' Inner World. Moreover, everyone said that all Gods couldn't interfere in this world and couldn't contact its believers, right? Then, how does this make sense?" He had never experienced anything like this when invading soone's inner world and was startled greatly.
"No. I saw a similar situation when I tried to send my Consciousness to the mysterious Purple Bead."
A strange silence appeared in the living room.
After a short deliberation, Runeth let out a deep sigh and spoke.
"Charles, the demon that infected Reynolds isn't sothing we could handle. And the sa goes for this man. He is beyond saving now."
"Can't we just extract this orb and separate it from his body? As long as I use my soul fla, I don't think saving him is hard for us." Charles suggested.
"That's where you are wrong, lad. Unlike us, Demons born in the Abyss can't reproduce. Do you know why chaotic beings like Demons invade other planes instead of staying in their ho? The whole Abyss Plane doesn't have any concept of the reincarnation cycle. Whenever a demon dies, its soul will either be enslaved by another demon or enter the Eternal River of Life to go through reincarnation naturally. In a sense, the soul of that demon will be given a chance to be reincarnated as a human or any other being in planes other than the Chaotic planes like Abyss. What will happen if more and more demons die and enter the Eternal River of Life? It will result in a scarcity of souls. That's why the Demons can't reproduce. Even if they gave birth to a new demon, they will always be born dead."
"So, that's why they invade other planes and capture the souls of other beings, huh?" A look of understanding appeared on Charles's face.
"Yes. Currently, Reynolds's body, Consciousness, and soul have already been demonized and beco a part of an abyssal being. He is transforming into a chaotic being. So, killing that parasite is no less than killing Reynolds." Runeth said in a solemn tone.
As Reynolds heard those words, he couldn't hide the shock and almost fell while staggering.
"I know this will happen one day." His rough voice echoed in the living room as he moved to the nearby table and took the cane.
Then, he slowly sat on the cold floor and leaned on the wall.
Although he didn't break down completely, Charles saw his whole body trembling and shivering.
