Chapter 534: Confrontation
After a short pause, Jessie's voice ca from the other side.
'Okay, Mr. Charles. Capture Ezra and try your best to gather as much information as possible.'
Nodding his head, Charles told them to move towards the rchants' Market.
As the carriage disappeared from his sight, Charles shifted his gaze towards the graveyard and searched for Ezra.
He soon saw that a wavy blonde-haired young man moved out of the Northern Graveyard, entered the dirt road, and walked towards the Underground District's main road.
'There he is!' Charles's eyes flickered.
At that mont, a luxurious four-wheeled carriage drove past Charles and soon stopped as it arrived near Ezra. Then, a middle-aged man in his leather suit opened the golden curtain and signaled Ezra to get in.
'The security captain John?' Charles raised his eyebrows in suspicion and soon saw Ezra entering the carriage.
After that, the coachman pulled the horse reins and drove the carriage in the other direction.
anwhile, Charles cast [Crimson Steps] on himself and followed the carriage while maintaining distance.
On the other hand, the carriage moved on the dirt road, entered the main road, and soon stopped as it reached the opposite side alley.
Then, Ezra stepped down from the carriage and shifted his gaze towards the front.
The alley road was large enough for two carriages to pass through but looked deserted at this ti. Only a few stray dogs road here and there, and one even started growling at Ezra.
At that mont, a 40-years-old looking man stood a few ters away from the alley's entrance and seed to be waiting for his arrival.
The man's face was wrinkled and grey, and his hair was completely white. He wore a dirty white vest, white leather shoes, and a walking stick in his hand. Small bumps protruded on his right cheek, and his face was yellowish, while thick eyebrows covered his eyes.
"You are late, Ezra." The man spoke in a cold tone, turned around, and started walking in the other direction.
"It's not easy to escape without attracting anyone's attention, Hayden." Ezra hurriedly walked closer towards Hayden and added.
"We should move faster. We already got marked by soone."
anwhile, Hayden showed a surprised face and asked in a startled tone.
"Soone is tailing us? How did you know?"
"Professor contacted us a while ago. He said that soone might be interfering with our plan and ordered the security captain to take care of the problem."
While speaking, both walked through the alley, exited the path, and soon disappeared from there.
At that mont, John opened the golden curtain, walked down from the carriage, and gestured the coachman to leave.
After that, he took a step forward, walked deep into the alley road, and soon stopped as he arrived at the center of the alley.
He then closed his eyes, released his wisdom power, and checked the surroundings but found nothing abnormal.
"No one is there?" His eyebrows rose upward.
He then touched the silver bracelet in his left hand, used his wisdom power to activate it, and contacted Professor.
"What happened, John? Did you catch the suspect?" A cold voice ca from the other side.
"I still hadn't t him yet-" Before he could finish the sentence, he perceived soone from behind and squinted his eyes.
As he sensed a presence, John turned around and saw that a blurry shadow appeared a few ters away from him and vanished.
Upon seeing this, his eyelids twitched.
"I saw him a mont ago. But he just vanished out of thin air." He added.
"Where are you now?" Professor asked him from the other side.
"I'm currently in Rowan Alley, Professor," John said grimly.
"Don't let him escape. I'll be there in a minute." Saying so, Professor cut off the connection from the other side.
anwhile, John nodded his head subconsciously, glanced around, and soon squinted his eyes.
At that mont, he saw a young man in his late twenties standing a few ters away from him and blocking his path. He had deep blue hair, jade eyes, an oval face, and he wore a double-breasted coat.
"A Spatial Mage?" John stared at Charles for a mont and made a hand gesture.
At that mont, a warning notification popped up in front of Charles's eyes.
[Alert! Alert! Alert!]
[A foreign power is pulling the User's consciousness from your body!]
Charles noticed that the surrounding walls started to warp and soon disappeared from his eyes.
A second later, he noticed that he was floating in the cloudy sky and soon beca confused.
Even though he was floating in the air, he wasn't affected by gravity, which caused him to frown deeply.
'Sothing is wrong. Where am I?' He glanced around and soon froze.
At that mont, a silver-haired John appeared a few ters away from him and held a long sword in his right hand. Unlike before, his outer appearance looked illusionary, and he wore different cloth than before.
"I'm in your Domain?" Charles furrowed his brows and was about to say sothing but stopped.
'Wait! I'm in my consciousness form. It ans...' As he muttered, he looked at his own illusionary hands and turned grim.
At that mont, he knew that he was in John's Inner World now!
"You realized the situation you are in?" John said as he turned into a cluster of white clouds and disappeared from there.
The next instant, the white clouds that appeared behind Charles started to gather and ford into an appearance of John.
Before Charles could act, John raised his hand, created an eerie black sword out of thin air, and thrust it in his direction.
anwhile, Charles instantly tried to cast his [Sphere of Invulnerability] spell, but his thoughts were interrupted by a foreign power.
At that mont, the eerie black sword directly penetrated him from behind and appeared on the other side.
Charles felt a sharp pain as the sword appeared in front of his chest and thought of backing away but couldn't.
No, he felt the sa foreign power was corrupting his consciousness from backing away!
'He has a skill to corrupt my consciousness?' He instantly looked into John's eyes and cast [Burning Thoughts] spell.
The next instant, a small purple fire appeared inside John's head and erased his current thinking.
Then, he raised his hand, cast [Hands of Wonder] skill, and released an invisible string towards the surroundings.
At the sa ti, he linked his mind with his soul and physical body and soon curled his lips upward.
Although John's Inner World was powerful enough to block any consciousness from leaving, it didn't have the power to stop Charles from taking sothing from outside using his [Hands of Wonder] skill.
The single string could travel through dinsion, much less a barrier between one's Inner World and the physical world.
A second later, Charles turned into his elental form, backed away quietly, and returned to his original appearance.
But unlike before, his form didn't appear illusionary but looked more real!
When John woke up from the strange mory loss effect, he noticed a big difference in Charles's appearance and beca stunned.
"You- How co your body appears in my Inner World?!" Confusion appeared on John's face.
anwhile, Charles opened his arms wide and started casting [Fire Seed], [Knowledge Seeker], and [Burning Consciousness] spells continuously.
Countless purple rays, purple fla seeds, and even Charles-like consciousnesses appeared out of his body and started burning his Inner World!
Before John could understand the situation, he noticed that so of his precious mories were disappearing one by one.
Charles let out a chuckle and spoke coldly upon seeing the panicking look on the enemy's face.
"You shouldn't have pulled my consciousness into your Inner World, John. Unlike others' souls, mine is a mutated one. It ans my soul form, body, consciousness form, and elental body form had already fused and beca a single entity. Not only that, but my soul also has reached the level of Demigod level.. Your mind skills are useless against ."
