Chapter 468: Black Sun
A second later, a blackish fla ball filled with wicked fire essence ca out of his hand and soon ford into a 2-ter giant blackish fireball!
Soon, the fla ball absorbed the negative energy from the city and started to enlarge at an unimaginable speed.
The whole sky turned darker at that mont, and it seed to be on the verge of tears. Flashes of lightning and thunders resounded in the sky continuously and disrupted the peacefulness of the city. Startled by the sudden noises, Cardinal looked upward towards the dark sky and got shocked inside.
'What is he doing?' A look of confusion and puzzlent appeared on his face.
He then recited a short chant and cast a defensive spell.
"Sacred Vanish!"
It was a convenient spell due to how little light energy was required for casting. After absorbing a small amount of light energy, which would briefly circle the caster, the spell could use it to pull the caster's body into a separate dinsion for a short period, rendering an opponent's physical attacks useless as they simply pass through the caster.
At that mont, Cardinal Smith's body started to distort suddenly and turned transparent.
Then, he flapped his holy wings and flew upward at an unimaginable speed. Within a few seconds, he finally arrived near Charles and tried to get closer towards the monstrous fla ball.
But a second later, a groan ca out of Cardinal Smith's mouth.
Even though he cast a defensive light spell to protect himself in advance, a small black streak appeared out of the [Black Inferno] spell, ripped through the light energies, and landed on his illusionary chest!
Then, a strange wicked fla enveloped his illusionary body and tried to burn him.
Thankfully, the defensive light spell acted on its own and removed the black fla before it could cause any damage to his consciousness or soul.
"Holy Goddess of Light!" He wore a dubious look on his face and backed away from Charles.
Although he didn't get hurt, he felt fear towards the black fla.
'I have a vague feeling that black fla might pass through dinsion and cause harm to my real body.'
He felt that he had severely underestimated his new friend's strength at that mont!
'A single black streak managed to startle greatly! Is this the power of an otherworldly being?' His heart raced all of a sudden.
"What are you doing?" He also sensed the danger of the black fireball and asked.
From the information he gathered from the Prophecy Book, he knew how destructive this [Black Inferno] spell was and got a bad premonition.
'Why is he getting angry over the death of a few mortals? Am I missing sothing? Wait… Could it be he also got emotional like humans?' He couldn't help but suspect sothing was wrong with Charles's action.
anwhile, the [Black Inferno] spell released chaotic heatwaves in all directions and even caused the citizens of Royal City to feel suffocative.
At that mont, everyone in the Royal Capital noticed that the sky had turned gloomy. Even the Saint Knights and Demon Sorcerers were shaken and looked at the sky in anxiety.
Within seconds, the ordinary citizens, knights, rchants, and even the slum people walked out of their houses and looked up at the gloomy sky in shock and disbelief.
Because what appeared in the sky was not so cracker but a freaking Black Sun!
Currently, it appeared larger than the original one and looked more like a doomsday sun!
The citizens, the knights, and even Charles's elite knights felt a strange sense of fear.
The only ones who remained calm were lody and Irzoch.
In truth, they had long left the wooden carriage and sneaked into the Royal Capital. lody went towards a specific district called 'Nobles Borough' and moved towards Rainbow Street.
That's where Duke Ismael's mansion was located!
In the anti, Irzoch also used her 'Skinwalker' bloodline spell to change herself into Cardinal Smith and started walking towards the center of the Royal City!
On the other hand, Charles calmly let the Black Sun hover in the sky, shifted his attention towards Cardinal Smith, and asked with an emotionless face.
"What will happen if I let this Black Sun explode in the Royal Capital, Mr. Smith?" His voice appeared strangely eerie and cold.
Upon hearing his question, Cardinal froze for a second and soon answered with a forced smile on his face.
"The whole city will get wiped out." He stated the truth.
"Correct. But do you know sothing? This spell isn't even my trump card. In fact, this spell is just an above-average spell. If you don't believe , you can use your 'Truth Domain' to check whether my reply is right or wrong."
Upon hearing those words, Cardinal Smith furrowed his brows in suspicion and went silent for a mont.
'Is he bluffing? But why didn't Victor ntion any of this in his book?' He thought to himself and then used the Truth Domain power to check if Charles's words were genuine or not.
A second later, a shocked expression appeared on his face.
'What?! Does he have more trump card spells? Then, the prophecy book is a fake one?'
Before he could even ask a question, Charles curled his lips upward and spoke.
"I also have so mysterious abilities other than the ones ntioned in the Prophecy Book. For example-" He paused for a mont and then added with a smile.
"Like Victor, I, too, can see one's future to so extent. Not only that, but I also have the power to destroy a kingdom in re seconds, can shapeshift into any person, and also has the ability to travel to different dinsions."
As Cardinal Smith heard those words, he constantly checked his words with the 'Truth Domain' power and soon got frozen in shock.
'All of his words are true!'
"What are you planning to do?" His voice contained a trace of wariness.
Unlike Irzoch and lody, Cardinal Smith had a strong soul and had the divine power to help him stay calm and collective even in hopeless situations.
Currently, he was more like a half-controlled state.
One single mistake, there would be a high chance that he might get away from Charles's grasp.
'What a tricky guy to manipulate. I need to turn him into my side slow and steadily.' But Charles also knew that naive talking wouldn't work on such a person… That's why he thought of cornering him first.
