It had been two or three minutes, and soone on the helicopter rappelled down.
"Old Jiang!"
By now, Jiang Ye managed a rare smile at the sight of the newcor.
Once they approached, he called out,
"How did you guys get here?"
What a surprise, they were all old acquaintances!
The newcor’s face bore a naive smile,
"What? Can I not co if you can?"
Jiang Ye raised an eyebrow, of course, that wasn’t what he ant.
It was a bit of a shock because, after all, people from his old unit weren’t dispatched casually.
The old teammate clapped Jiang Ye on the back,
"Just happened to be on a mission in the neighboring city. As soon as it ended, they sent us here. Let’s go."

Jiang Ye didn’t catch the aning imdiately and clapped his old teammate on the back,
"We’re still on a rescue mission here, let’s catch up another ti."
He really didn’t have the extra ntal capacity to do anything else; he was extrely anxious as there was still no news about his wife.
However, the old teammate suddenly said,
"Co on, hurry, don’t waste any ti. You have a more important task awaiting, the commander-in-chief is up there waiting for you."
Jiang Ye thought he understood, but wasn’t entirely sure if it was what he thought,
"What do you an?"
The old teammate shrugged,
"Just that, get a move on, your unit already made contact."
At this point, Jiang Ye was clear; he had absolutely no power to refuse.
This was an order!
Who dared not to obey?
That would an facing a court-martial.
The helicopter hovered overhead, its roaring sound was so loud that it almost burst his eardrums.
Jiang Ye moved toward a nearby spot,
"Xiao Mao," he called.
"Hey, Captain Jiang, I’m here."
Instantly, a head wearing a firefighter helt popped up from below the cliff.
Jiang Ye squatted down, his expression solemn and his tone serious,
"I’m leaving this side to you for now, rember, our people need to return safely, just as they ca."
"Ah? Why ? Where are you going, Captain Jiang?"
Jiang Ye gestured to the helicopter overhead,
"I have another mission now, can’t stay here."
Seeing this, Xiao Mao nodded emphatically,
"Understood, Captain Jiang, rest assured, I’ll take good care of everyone."
"Alright, I’m off."
His teammates watched as Jiang Ye climbed aboard the helicopter, which eventually disappeared into the night sky.

On the helicopter.
As soon as Jiang Ye got on, he saw a figure sitting across from him and couldn’t help but feel moved for a few seconds.
Then he walked over, stood at attention, and saluted,
"Commander!"
The man was probably in his forties or fifties, with a genial appearance, but his eyes were undeniably sharp—clearly, soone who had been honed on the battlefield.
The man waved his hand and pointed to a chair,
"Sit down, it’s not like a new bride entering her ho."
Old acquaintances, no need for such formalities, right?
Jiang Ye pursed his lips before sitting down.
Once seated, he naturally maintained his silence.
The middle-aged man shouted to those around,
"Everyone gather."
Suddenly, the teammates all crowded around.
With a sideways glance, Jiang Ye noticed that apart from the commander and the old teammate, all were indeed new recruits.
His old teammate had already ntioned they had been on a mission nearby.
It seed he might have been leading these newbies.
Though it had been several years since he left that place, he rembered everything vividly; every mont felt as if it had happened just yesterday.
