In the hospital, as soon as Lu Jing stepped into the outpatient office, he was called from behind.
"Doctor Lu, the director is looking for you."
Huh???
"Okay, where is he?"
"In the office."
"Thank you."
After expressing his thanks, Lu Jing said to the intern:
"Don’t call for the next patient just yet, I need to go upstairs."
"Okay, Doctor Lu."
....
Lu Jing walked out from the outpatient hall and made a detour to the elevator next to the radiology departnt.
This elevator, located between the radiology, western pharmacy, and ergency departnts, tended to have fewer riders than usual.
Sure enough, it wasn’t long before the elevator ca down from the upper floor.
With a "ding," the elevator doors opened and people walked out.
Lu Jing waited for everyone to exit before stepping in, along with only three others.
This trip didn’t take much ti to reach the orthopedic departnt.
It had been several days since he was last here, and he felt a sowhat indescribable sense of nostalgia.
The colleagues in the departnt were surprised to see Lu Jing:
"Doctor Lu?"
It had only been a few days, but it felt like ages, almost as if it were an illusion.
Lu Jing greeted them with a smile:
"Good morning."
"Doctor Lu, is it really you?"
There’s a living person standing right in front of you, could it be a ghost?
Lu Jing laughed out:
"Yes, fancy a hug?"
The next second, the person actually lunged forward.
"Oh my, Doctor Lu, I’ve missed you so much."
Lu Jing was slightly tense for a mont. Thankfully, the person rembered Doctor Lu had a "babe" in his belly, so they didn’t really throw themselves at him forcefully.
"Doctor Lu, did you co up here for sothing?" they asked.
Lu Jing nodded:
"The director called for ."
"Well, I won’t keep you then, go ahead."
"Sure, we’ll catch up later."
....
In the director’s office.
"Knock knock..."
"Co in."
Lu Jing pushed the door open:
"Teacher, you were looking for ?"
The director looked up and imdiately bead with a smile:
"Xiao Lu is here?"
You could tell, he was delighted.
Could he have found so money? Or was there so great news?
After all, seeing the director smiling so brilliantly, if a patient saw this, they might question his professional capabilities.
"Have a seat."
Uh.
Lu Jing then sat down:
"Teacher, is there sothing you needed?"
The director nodded vigorously without hesitation:
"Yes, sothing, sothing wonderful!"
Well, wasn’t that guess spot on?
But since it was good news, the anxiety could be relieved.
Taking a quiet breath, he asked:
"What’s the good news?"
The director slid a docunt in front of Lu Jing:
"Take a look."
???
Lu Jing didn’t decline and started to browse through it.
Wow?
An honor certificate?
Without even reading the content, just from the bold words, one could be sure it was great news.
Looking carefully, it all beca clear.
"Teacher, isn’t this the project we did a long ti ago?"
He rembered it clearly, as he had just returned to the country then.
Who would have thought, after almost half a year, that project had won an award?
Lu Jing was of course very pleased inside; no wonder the director received word to call him over early in the morning.
Although Lu Jing hadn’t been involved in the project for long, he had participated in all the critical parts—while it wasn’t the biggest contribution, at least it was significant.
The director’s face was all wrinkles from smiling:
"Xiao Lu, look closely, what place did it get?"
"First place."
"Do you know how much the reward for first place is?"
Ah???
That, he really wasn’t sure about.
"How much?"
The director then extended a hand, showing five fingers. Was it fifty thousand? Five hundred thousand? Or maybe five thousand?
