.....
Under soone’s stark gaze, the sisters-in-law sat together.
Oh, not right, to be precise, there were three of them!
Jiang Yuan sat in the middle, flanked by Lu Jing and Li Wu.
As for Jiang Ye and Jiang Huai, this pair of troubled brothers was squeezed into sitting catty-corner from each other.
As all kids know, the longest distance between two points is a straight line.
Aside from the Leng family elders, who were not present, both the Jiang family elders and the Lu family elders were there.
From the mont they entered the private room, Lu Jing had successfully beco the special protected person of the evening, she didn’t even have to lift a finger to serve herself food, if it were possible for soone to eat on her behalf, soone would have probably volunteered already.
""Mom, Aunt Su, that’s enough, I really can’t eat anymore,"" she was nearly in tears.
It’s really difficult to refuse such things, the caring from the elders after all!
Lu’s mother finally cald down, as her own mother, she was of course full of worries about her daughter, as for the little one in her daughter’s belly, for the ti being, had to take a backseat.
Jiang’s mother was by no ans a domineering person, but rather quite humorous:
""What’s there to be afraid of? If you can’t finish, let Aye help you."
Isn’t this very normal between a couple?
Cough cough.
Better not to have ntioned it, as soon as she spoke, Lu Jing and Jiang Ye could not help but twitch their faces uncontrollably.
""Mom, can we just eat peacefully?""
Captain Jiang glanced at his mother a few tis and said.
Jiang’s mother humd twice, then started beckoning Li Wu with a smile:
""Xiao Wu, we’re all family here, don’t be shy, eating more is good for your health.""
Li Wu was relieved that she was sitting fairly distant from Jiang’s mother, or else she might have just gone through the sa ordeal as her friend.
So embarrassing, and mainly difficult to refuse.
Plus, it was Li Wu’s first ti dining with the Jiang family mbers, how could she not be nervous?
""Aunt Su, I understand, I understand, I’m not being polite,"" she quickly replied.
Jiang Huai silently chuckled across the table, and purposely nudged the person sitting opposite him with his foot.
Luckily, he had long legs, and it took no effort at all.
Li Wu nearly bit her tongue in shock and then glared fiercely at the person across from her, her eyes filled with threats and warnings:
Don’t make more trouble!
That finally quietened Jiang Huai down.
.....
After the al and coming down from the hotel,
Mr. Lu and Lu’s mother had a flight two hours later, with Lu’s mother busy giving her daughter all kinds of advice.
As for Mr. Lu, although not as nagging, he also gave his son-in-law his share of advice.
Jiang Ye listened attentively:
""Uncle Lu, I’ve got it all written down, don’t worry, I will take good care of Lu’er."
For so long, Mr. Lu and Lu’s mother had witnessed the son-in-law’s various cares for their daughter, what worries could they have now?
They were utterly reassured and very satisfied with Jiang Ye.
As the parents-in-law, they had no requirents, just one: to treat their daughter well!
Lu Yan and his spouse were busy dealing with corporate affairs and hadn’t managed to co to pick the parents up themselves but had sent a driver instead.
The driver had been waiting outside the car early and opened the door in advance when he saw the group approaching.
Lu Jing, of course, was reluctant to see her mother leave:
""Mom, if you’re not busy, you should co over."
After all, both elders were retired now and had plenty of free ti.
And she was just at the clinic. She might not see anyone during the day, but evenings were possible.
Lu’s mother smiled and patted her daughter’s hand:
""I’ll co take care of you when you’re further along in your pregnancy, there’s actually sothing that needs addressing in Jing City right now."
Lu Jing had no choice but to agree:
""Alright, then."
Only then did Lu’s mother whisper:
""The Gu Family has run into trouble, it will probably blow up soon, and when it does, make sure you don’t get involved in any of it.""
Huh?
The Gu Family?
