Lu Jing had regained his composure by now:
"I’m here, I’m here."
Hearing the response, Miss Dai on the phone finally let out a long sigh of relief:
"You scared to death, what exactly happened?"
Lu Jing took a deep breath:
"Nothing much, just a small collision."
"What, a car accident?"
How could that be nothing?
Just by the tone, he knew there was a misunderstanding on the other end, and he hurriedly explained:
"It’s really not a big deal, just a bump on the rear end, Jiang Ye is already handling it."
"Really?"
"Do I really need to lie to you?"
It’s not that big of a deal, alright?
Miss Dai finally felt relieved:
"As long as you’re okay. With Captain Jiang there, handling these issues is a breeze. Just sit tight in the car, and don’t move around."
Lu Jing was sowhat amused and exasperated—did everyone treat him like a child?
"I didn’t get out. How about you? Have you handled everything?"
"Yep, it’s pretty much settled now, Lu Lu, I’m going to hang up."
"Alright."
The issue with his best friend and the Dai Family was definitely not that simple; there would probably be a whole series of things to follow.
But, he didn’t need to worry about the details; he just needed to stand firmly by his best friend’s side.
After ending the call, Lu Jing looked back to see Jiang Ye and a few male drivers standing together, talking about sothing.
All n, they seed to handle problems with ease.
At least, they wouldn’t make an unreasonable fuss, be illogical, or cry and wail about it.
Everyone owned up to their responsibility, refusing to shirk it, just waiting for the traffic officer to arrive.
Seeing the n chat in seemingly good spirits, Lu Jing naturally wasn’t worried anymore.
Before long, the traffic officer arrived and began to determine responsibility.
Jiang Ye ca back midway, mainly concerned whether his wife was hungry?
Lu Jing had no intention of eating on the roadside:
"You go handle it, I’m not hungry."
"You sure you’re not hungry? There’s a supermarket over there. If you get hungry, I can go buy you sothing to eat."
Lu Jing couldn’t help but laugh:
"I’m really not hungry."
Seeing his wife looking quite serious, the man finally believed her:
"Then I’ll go back there, it should be sorted out quickly."
"Okay, go ahead, no worries."
Anyway, he definitely wasn’t going to make it to work on ti; today he’d have to call off.
For many years, it was actually the first ti such a thing had happened.
Luckily, he had inford the director in ti, otherwise, there would probably already have been a barrage of calls from his departnt.

The traffic officer spent roughly ten minutes handling the situation, mainly because two more cars were involved in a pile-up, which took additional ti.
Now that responsibilities had been determined, there was nothing much left to do: fix what needed fixing, report to insurance what needed reporting, and take care of any liabilities.
Once everything was settled, everyone drove off in their respective vehicles.
Jiang Ye started the car, and once the car ahead moved on, he too slowly drove away.
Lu Jing casually asked:
"How badly is the car damaged?"
"Not too badly, just the bumper needs so work, no major problems otherwise."
Lu Jing nodded:
"Okay then, as long as it’s fine. Where are we heading now? Do we need to go to the traffic police station?"
Jiang Ye shook his head:
"No need, we are going to....."
He got halfway through his sentence when an urgent call ca through. It connected via Bluetooth directly, and Jiang’s mother’s anxious voice ca through loud and clear:
"Aye, your grandfather just suddenly fainted!"
What?
The old man fainted?
Jiang Ye’s expression instantly beca serious:
"Did you take him to the hospital?" he asked.
"We did, we’re on the way to the hospital now, and everything is arranged there."
