At this mont, Lu Jing really felt like he was about to puff up like a blowfish.
His cheeks kept inflating, his eyes wide open.
Jiang Ye thought it might be better not to tease him too much, or what if he really exploded with anger?
He tapped his slender fingers twice on the coffee table, creating a rhythmic "tap, tap" sound:
"Co here."
He had already called out a second ti, and he might not be so patient on a third.
Lu Jing, detecting the threatening tone in Jiang Ye’s words, had no choice but to walk over reluctantly since he couldn’t flee or win a fight.
In the corner of his eye, he swiftly scanned the room.
Only to realize in shock, everything here, was it not exactly the sa as six years ago?
The photos on the TV cabinet were still the ones he had placed there, and the little ornants nearby were found during leisurely market visits, including the furniture and ho appliances—everything was unchanged.
To not be surprised would definitely be a lie.
Of course, Lu Jing had no intention of hiding anything.
At that mont, the man had opened two bottles of mineral water, one at room temperature and the other cold from the fridge.
After opening the room-temperature bottle, he pushed it forward.
Obviously, it was for the woman.
Then he took his own bottle of ice water and guzzled down half of it.
The sound of his Adam’s apple moving up and down with a "gulp."
"What are you sneaking peeks at?
Don’t worry; no other won have been here in these years except for the housekeeper."
Lu Jing felt his head go ’boom’, heat rising to his face, his watery eyes blinking as he took a deep breath,
"Don’t spout nonsense!"
Tsk tsk.
Jiang Ye didn’t fuss over the woman’s contradictory words and actions:
"Co sit."
While saying this, he patted the couch next to him.
But in the end, Lu Jing chose to sit in the farthest corner from the man.
"Speak up, why have you brought here? What do you want to say?" she asked with a straight and stiff spine.
The man replied,
"Nothing."
Hmm?
Right as the woman’s confusion flickered, the man had already jumped from his original position straight to her side.
With a big hand, he pulled her into his embrace.
Then, tilting his head slightly, he whispered in her ear,
"Nothing particular I want to say, just wanted to bring you back here."
This place already had a deep significance for both of them.
Lu Jing’s heart was nowhere near as calm as she appeared, every corner here filled with once-shared mories.
Though six years had passed, the images beca clearer and clearer.
"Why... not sell it? Or rent it out?" she suddenly voiced.
Jiang Ye, on hearing this, slowly withdrew his hand from her back.
Then he lifted her chin, his lips drawing closer,
"What do you think?" he asked, his voice sounding as if he were biting his tongue.
Lu Jing rolled her eyes,
"What should I say?"
Feeling sowhat irritated, yet there was sothing indescribable.
At this mont, of course, Lu Jing didn’t think her face revealed any of the contradiction between her words and her feelings.
And that man, seeing this, took it all in stride as flirtation, his eyes smilingly half-closed.
The distance between their lips so close, each breath they took could be felt on each other’s face, incredibly intimate.
"Not selling or renting, hmm, of course, is because I worry my girl might finish her rebellion phase one day and won’t be able to find ."
Your girl?
Suddenly, the blush on Lu Jing’s face beca even brighter, spreading to the back of her neck.
"Who are you talking about?" she muttered softly.
And rebellion?
She wasn’t a child, and even six years ago, she was already grown-up.
Who has a rebellious phase that starts so late?
