Lu Jing hadn’t even had a chance to open his mouth when Jiang Ye was the first to speak:
"Old Qin, you’re too kind."
Old Qin nodded:
"It’s not about being kind; I truly am grateful to your sister-in-law."
Lu Jing quickly waved her hands:
"Instructor Qin, really, there’s no need, I’ve always watched over Xiao Kai as well."
After all, Lu Jing was a doctor, okay?
Not to ntion Xiao Kai, even strangers would be treated the sa way.
There has always been a saying: "A doctor’s heart is like a parent’s."
Seeing the father and son hugging each other, the couple quietly left the room.
Standing outside the ergency departnt, Lu Jing finally exhaled a sigh of relief.
Jiang Ye knew very well how tender-hearted the woman in front of him was and took her in his arms:
"Alright, it’s over now, everything will be fine," he softly said.
Indeed, this gentleness was reserved only for his dear wife.
Lu Jing didn’t push him away, and quietly allowed herself to be embraced:
"Jiang Ye, do you know how worried and scared I was?"
"It’s okay, it’s okay, look at the kids, they’ve all been put on IVs, and there’s nothing seriously wrong, right?"
It was a minor poisoning, not too severe.
Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been just IV treatnt.
They would probably have had to perform stomach pumping or even surgery.
Lu Jing was not ignorant of this fact, but she was still frightened after the fact, still haunted by the what-ifs, so many children, what on earth was the kindergarten doing?
Moreover, that kindergarten’s tuition was not cheap, and the monthly living expenses were quite substantial as well.
How could an incident like this happen?
Jiang Ye hugged her even tighter:
"Right, I rember Yaoyao is also at this kindergarten?"
Clearly, Captain Jiang still kept his stepdaughter dear in his heart.
Lu Jing said with relief:
"She just happened to have taken a few days off and didn’t co to school."
So she escaped this disaster.
Sure enough, hearing this, Jiang Ye relaxed a bit too.
"Okay, okay, stop worrying, how long until you get off work?"
Lu Jing suddenly realized that she was still covering a shift.
She quickly stepped out of the man’s arms:
"I have to go back to the clinic, you watch things here."
But Jiang Ye pulled the woman’s hand:
"Old Qin is here, and his wife should arrive soon, I’ll accompany you."
After such a big incident, no one felt like working anymore.
Since it was already after four, and less than an hour left until the end of the shift, Jiang Ye decided to accompany his wife off work and go ho.
Lu Jing didn’t refuse.
One behind the other, they went from the ergency departnt to the outpatient hall, and finally into the office.
Jiang Ye sat down at the intern’s seat, and before long, a patient ca in - it was soone they knew.
"Wu Huai, have your test results co out?"
Doctors really have good mories, having seen so many people, to be able to recall a na imdiately.
The young man nodded and ca in.
However, it wasn’t until he entered that he saw Jiang Ye’s figure, and was taken aback for a mont.
Cough cough.
Damn, who’s that?
Suddenly, he hardly dared to breathe.
It was Lu Jing who spoke again:
"Show the report."
Wu Huai snapped back to reality, quickly handing over the paperwork:
"Here, Doctor Lu."
Lu Jing took it and started to read closely, while Wu Huai mustered the courage to sit down. Once seated, he sat up straight as an arrow, like a good elentary school student, not daring to look around, very proper.
Lu Jing glanced and pretended not to notice.
Soon, after looking over several test reports, she had a complete understanding of Wu Huai’s condition.
"See, it’s fluid accumulation in the knee, quite severe. Did you rember everything I told you before?"
Uh.
The boy nodded:
"I rember, I rember, no vigorous exercise, and definitely no playing basketball!"
