Lu Jing watched with an aching heart:

"Xiao Tang, what’s...?"

Silly girl, is it worth it?

It’s just a man, and if there’s anything the world isn’t short of, it’s two-legged n. If one doesn’t work out, just move on to the next.

But Lu Jing certainly wouldn’t actually say that. After all, he’d been through it himself and could understand.

Xiao Tang shook her head and wiped her face a few tis:

"I’m fine, Doctor Lu, what brings you here?"

"Just got off work and ca to check on you."

There was no one else in the dormitory at the ti:

"Doctor Lu, co in."

He didn’t look around much after entering.

There wasn’t much to see in the nurses’ dormitory; several people lived in one apartnt, each with a small partitioned off area for sleeping.

The living room was small, and then there was a shared bathroom and a small kitchen.

"Feeling better now?"

Xiao Tang was on sick leave.

"Yep, no fever now."

So, it really wasn’t pretense; who could control when they fell ill?

However, her disheveled state was rather concerning!

"Have you eaten?"

"No."

"Then, get ready, we’ll go out to eat."

It just so happened that Lu Jing hadn’t eaten either.

He might as well take her out to distract her.

Xiao Tang didn’t really want to go out, but considering Doctor Lu had co to visit her at the dormitory, she obediently agreed:

"Okay, I might need a little while."

"No problem, take your ti, no rush."

It wasn’t even six o’clock yet; there was no need to hurry.

Xiao Tang hurried to the bathroom for a shower, washed her face, and tidied up a bit.

Because she had put on so lipstick, her whole complexion seed to brighten.

It probably took her close to twenty minutes in total.

"Doctor Lu, I’m ready."

Lu Jing stood up, looking at Xiao Tang, who had cleaned up, and felt relieved.

"Alright, let’s go."

It was only then that Xiao Tang suddenly rembered, hitting her head several tis in realization:

"How could I forget to offer Doctor Lu a glass of water? My head, I’m really muddled."

Lu Jing hadn’t noticed that and didn’t really mind:

"It’s okay, I’m not thirsty, stop hitting yourself, or you’ll end up even more silly."

Pfft.

Afterward, the two left the dormitory.

...

When they arrived at the hospital entrance, Lu Jing was about to hail a taxi to the snack street.

Unexpectedly, a black Rolls Royce slowly stopped in front of them.

???

Who?

Xiao Tang instinctively took a step back and tugged at Lu Jing:

"Doctor Lu, let’s make way for them."

Such an expensive car; if they scratched it, a year’s salary wouldn’t be enough to pay for it.

Lu Jing was just about to move when the rear window of the luxury car rolled down, and a face appeared from the inside.

Hmm, quite familiar.

Lu Jing’s pupils dilated:

"Brother?"

It was beyond his wildest dreams to find Lu Yan here.

Lu Jing was startled, but not as much as Xiao Tang.

Upon hearing Lu Jing’s call of ’brother,’ Xiao Tang felt as though she had been struck on the head with a hamr.

Doctor Lu was actually calling the owner of the Rolls Royce, ’brother’?

Wow!

That’s just too...

Lu Yan humd in acknowledgnt. He had already taken a good look at Xiao Tang. He nodded in response to Xiao Tang’s astonished gaze as a greeting.

Xiao Tang coughed nervously:

"Cough cough, Mr. Lu, hello, hello."

Lu Yan smiled and then turned to Lu Jing:

"Where are you going?" he asked.

Lu Jing shrugged:

"Just out to eat."

Lu Yan didn’t say much else, simply uttering two words:

"Get in!"
