Cough, cough.
Who says I won’t face the consequences?
Lu Jing admitted to himself that he was not that irresponsible:
"Dad, I know, I know."
Sweat, can’t I even worry?
After all, it’s just a parent’s love for their daughter.
At this mont, Lu’s mother and the aunt ca out with the last two dishes:
"What are you father and daughter chatting about? Hurry up and co to dinner."
The father and daughter on the sofa exchanged a glance and smiled.
"Let’s go, Dad."
"Alright."
The father and daughter rose together and headed toward the dining area.
During dinner, Lu Jing announced sothing:
"Dad, Mom, I’m thinking of returning to Nanxi City early tomorrow morning."
He could have gone back the day after tomorrow, but who could bla Lu Jing for feeling restless?
Nanxi City is right next to Fangbei City, close by, so any news could be conveyed quickly.
Of course, Mr. Lu and Lu’s mother would have no objections. Their daughter being happy and doing well with that young man was exactly what they hoped to see.
So how could they possibly object?
"A grown daughter can’t be kept at ho!" Mr. Lu exclaid with a sigh.
Lu Jing’s face turned red, and then he quietly put a chicken leg into Mr. Lu’s bowl:
"Dad, have a chicken leg."
Hmm, no need to talk while eating.
Lu’s mother, clearly amused, suddenly asked:
"Daughter, are you still living in the apartnt your brother arranged for you?"
Uh?
Lu Jing was obviously caught off guard by the question and nearly bit her tongue.
"No."
Lying just isn’t her strong suit.
Especially when asked so unexpectedly.
Lu’s mother had a look on her face as if she had seen through it all:
"Then are you living at Xiao Ye’s place now?"
"Yeah, the fire station is close to our hospital, convenient," she explained weakly.
The old couple both sighed:
"Alright, we have no problems with it, but just take care of yourself."
Uh.
This question again?
Lu Jing hurriedly shoveled a few more bites of rice into her mouth, saying nothing else.
It was too embarrassing, okay?
Super awkward.
...
The next day, early in the morning, Lu Jing set off from ho.
Mr. Lu drove the car himself, Lu’s mother ca along, and the family of three arrived at the airport.
"Dad, Mom, no need to see off any further, there’s security ahead."
"Take care of yourself after you get back to Nanxi City, and rember to call after you land."
"I know, I know."
Indeed running short on ti, Lu Jing dared not delay any further:
"Dad, Mom, I’m leaving."
Lu’s mother waved:
"Go on."
A mother’s worry spans a thousand miles!
But no matter how worried she might be, she had to let go. After all, she couldn’t keep her daughter in her grasp like when she was a child, right?
Her daughter was not three years old anymore, almost thirty.
Mr. Lu was actually reluctant to see her go, but as a man, he couldn’t express his feelings as directly as a woman.
Both old folks fell silent, not leaving until they could no longer see their daughter.
Lu Jing had already passed security, and the plane would take off in twenty minutes; everyone was queuing up for boarding.
Lu Jing arrived a bit late, so she was positioned towards the end of the line.
Front or back didn’t matter, after all, once on board, seating was according to your ticket.
Suddenly, there was commotion not far away:
"Soone’s fainted!"
With the airport already crowded, a large group of onlookers quickly ford.
Lu Jing found out what happened by listening to the nearby chatter.
Soone fainted?
Hiss!
Behind her stood a young girl, and Lu Jing asked in a rush:
"Excuse , ma’am, could you please watch my luggage for ? I’m a Doctor, and I’d like to go over and see the situation."
