"It’s nothing serious, just got bitten by the ’J’ bug, that’s all."
For a mont, pen holders, folders, books, and whatnot were all swept from the desk onto the floor.
Instantly, there was chaos all around.
"Wife~"
"Honey~"
Lu Jing’s cheeks were flushed, and he was gasping for air.
"I have to work tonight," he struggled to say.
"Mhm, I know."
But what ’know’ really ant, probably soone was completely clueless, right?
However, as Jiang Ye would put it, he really was being very restrained.
...
After everything ended, it took a while for Lu Jing to co back to his senses.
The man, however, still easily picked him up and carried him out of the study.
After returning to the adjacent room, Lu Jing was placed on the big bed, and the man couldn’t resist kissing him twice more:
"I’ll go clean up."
Who knew when soone might co over?
Lu Jing humd twice in response.
From that day on, their affection for each other rapidly heated up.
Soon it was the day of the fire brigade’s fan eting event, scheduled for the afternoon.
Lu Jing had just finished his night shift the evening before, so he could go ho, sleep a few hours, and then get up to attend the event.
Several people from his departnt had signed up, including Xiao Tang, Xiao Zhu, and the intern Dr. Zhang.
They agreed to et at 1:30 in the afternoon, and Lu Jing would pick them up at the fire brigade’s entrance.
Actually, there was no need for a pickup; there would undoubtedly be many people, they could just follow the crowd and register upon arrival.
But Lu Jing still agreed, several girls were quite shy and thin-skinned.
"Doctor Lu, don’t forget, okay?" They couldn’t help but remind him again.
Lu Jing chuckled and humd several tis:
"I won’t forget."
Then he packed up his things and left for ho.
Just stepping out of the hospital, he saw that the entrance of the fire brigade station diagonally across was festooned with many balloons, making quite a scene.
Once inside, he was even more surprised.
Flower baskets, chairs, water, snacks, all arranged row by row; a few team mbers were setting up a stage.
Jiang Ye was nearby, talking with Old Qin.
After spotting Lu Jing, he left Old Qin behind and ran over.
"Off work? Why didn’t you wait for to pick you up?"
Lu Jing gave him a sidelong glance:
"It’s so close, I can walk over in no ti. Aren’t you busy?"
On closer thought, it had been almost three days since he had seen him.
Despite being around, they just hadn’t t.
Unexpectedly, the mont he got off work today, he saw him.
"These past few days, things have been a bit busy at the station. Wife, could you be a little more accommodating?"
"Hmph~"
"I promise, once I’m done, I’ll co ho and work like an ox and horse for you!"
Pfft, pfft, pfft!
"Who needs you to be an ox and horse? Am I that demanding?"
"Mhm, it’s just a figure of speech, to get the idea across."
Lu Jing couldn’t help but roll his eyes:
"You get on with it. I need to go back and catch up on so sleep."
Saying this while yawning, his eyes stinging and feeling like they were on the verge of tears.
A typical case of eye strain.
"Alright, did you have breakfast?"
"I did."
Hearing that she had eaten, Jiang Ye didn’t say much else. He gently fixed the few strands of hair falling by her ears and tucked them behind:
"Go back and sleep, I should be able to co back around noon."
Ugh.
Of course, Lu Jing was happy inside, but obviously, he wouldn’t show it on his face:
"Whatever!"
His little prideful nature ca out involuntarily.
Jiang Ye laughed:
"What, not seeing your man for a few days, and you don’t miss him?
I’ve missed you every minute and every second, wife!"
His words carried a special significance.
