Cough, cough.

A group of gossipmongers turned around at the sound of the coughing, nearly scared out of their wits.

"Captain Jiang?"

Shit!

Once they snapped to their senses, they dispersed in a flash, quickly vanishing without a trace.

Jiang Ye looked up at his own apartnt level, indeed, smoke was billowing out.

Feeling good, he didn’t bother making a fuss with those youngsters.

As he reached the second floor, the sll of delicious food greeted him, and his smile deepened, a warm sense of happiness blooming in his heart.

Such a life had only been possible in his dreams before!

Climbing up to the third floor, he fished out his keys from his pocket to unlock the door.

Lu Jing had just co out of the kitchen with freshly cooked dishes when they both paused in surprise.

"Cough, you’re back?"

"Hmm, what a coincidence, the al is ready just as I return?"

The man spoke as he changed his shoes at the door, casually tossing the keys onto a cabinet.

Lu Jing pressed his lips together, feeling sowhat embarrassed:

"I had asked Instructor Qin."

"Old Qin?"

"Yeah, he passed by not long ago."

Alright, that made sense.

The smile never left Jiang Ye’s face as he followed into the kitchen, washed his hands under the tap, and splashed his face with cold water, spraying it everywhere.

Lu Jing couldn’t avoid the splashes despite stepping back repeatedly:

"Can’t you find sowhere else to wash?"

Being a doctor, one tended to have a bit of a Little Clean Freak streak.

Lu Jing was no exception.

"Sure, next ti."

It was a trivial matter, so he readily agreed.

Indeed, the woman had nothing more to say, and she served the last dish, a mixed vegetable soup.

"Grab a bowl, let’s eat."

"Alright."

Seeing the simple dishes and soup on the dining table, Jiang Ye’s sense of contentnt deepened even more.

The dishes might be plain, but they were lovingly handmade by his own wife.

Lu Jing had lived abroad alone for six years, so cooking was certainly no challenge, it just might not be as tasty as restaurant food.

"I just whipped this up, my cooking skills aren’t that good, if it’s not to your taste, you can still eat in the canteen."

At those words, Jiang Ye outright laughed:

"Why would I go to the canteen when I have your cooking? Don’t worry, I’d eat poison!"

As long as it was from you.

Lu Jing blushed and felt hot under the collar:

"That’s enough, let’s eat, ’don’t talk while eating, don’t speak while sleeping.’"

The person didn’t act up, just heartily enjoyed the al.

"Wife, your cooking is quite good."

He’s gotten used to calling her wife, huh?

Lu Jing frowned:

"Don’t call that!"

Hiss!

"I won’t."

"You..."

"What about ? Aren’t you my woman?"

That’s not the sa, right?

’Wife’ is a term that’s used only after a relationship is confird and marriage has taken place.

There still existed a vague barrier between the two of them, how could it be so hasty?

"Don’t call that!"

"Fine, Lu’er, Xiao Lu, is that better?"

He compromised, since sooner or later it would be the case anyway.

Lu Jing used to be unable to accept it, but now, compared to being called wife, it seed tolerable.

After dinner, the man took the initiative to wash the dishes.

Of course, Lu Jing had no complaints, especially since he dreaded washing dishes.

With soone else washing up, Lu Jing went back to the bedroom, took out a set of pajamas from the closet, ready for a bath and to wash his hair.

After cooking, his face felt like it was covered with a layer of oil, it would be uncomfortable not to wash it.

The bath took half an hour, and he ca out with a mask on his face, fingers restlessly moving about on it.

Jiang Ye watched the news for a while, and it was almost over.

"Done washing?"

"Yeah."

"Co here."

Hiss!

"What for?" He didn’t move.

Only a fool would rush over imdiately.
