The mother and daughter followed behind, watching with furrowed brows.
Mr. Lu had drunk so much that he had almost completely lost consciousness. However, Jiang Ye seed rather at ease as he supported him back to the room and steadily laid him down on the bed.
At that mont, Lu’s mother quickly went forward to undress him.
Jiang Ye had already stepped back, standing next to Lu Jing, staring blankly.
It was just as well that Mr. Lu had passed out drunk and Lu’s mother was busy, otherwise, a casual glance would have revealed everything—it was too obvious.
Lu Jing pursed her lips, her eyes fiercely glaring at soone.
Perhaps it was the alcohol, but Jiang Ye wasn’t holding back; on the contrary, he was becoming bolder.
Frightened, Lu Jing imdiately darted forward a few steps:
"Mom, let help you."
"No need, no need, I’ll be done soon, go pour Xiao Ye a glass of water."
Hiss!
"Going, right away."
Pour water, huh?
As she passed by the man, she intentionally shifted her footing, stepping on him with precision.
But who was Jiang Ye?
Such pain could be completely ignored.
He almost laughed out loud.
At that mont, he was pinched hard on his waist.
"Cough cough."
After going out, Lu Jing didn’t really pour water, but walked to the door and opened it:
"Quick, leave!" she urged, none too gently.
This great deceiver had evidently completely bamboozled the old couple.
Lu Jing was angry, yet it seed there was nothing she could do,
and even occasionally she would be alard, always worried that the man might suddenly co up with sothing.
So, the sooner he left, the better!
Prevent future problems!
Tsk tsk.
The man deliberately clicked his tongue twice and moved closer:
"Are you in such a hurry to send your man away?"
Lu Jing could only sll a strong scent of alcohol and instinctively wanted to pull away, but was embraced around her lower back:
"What are you doing? My mom might co out any mont!"
Why did he always like to get physical at every opportunity?
Jiang Ye chuckled to himself:
"Really not coming down with ?" he asked.
"No, leave now!"
The rejection was utterly complete.
Of course, Jiang Ye knew that he definitely couldn’t coax her away and had no choice but to give up.
"Fine, I’ll go. You really are a heartless woman!"
Is that called being heartless?
Lu Jing’s face contorted twice and then she rcilessly shut the door.
...
Jiang Ye’s face returned to its usual indifference the mont he stepped into the elevator.
Where was the drunken deanor he had just now? He was sober to an extre degree.
So, how could a little white rabbit ever outwit a sly old fox?
Unbeknownst to Lu Jing at this mont, she and her mother cleaned up the kitchen together before each of them went back to their rooms to shower.
By the ti they were done, it was nearly ten o’clock in the evening.
It was too late to talk about anything.
"Mom, go to sleep early."
"You too, don’t stay up late on your phone."
"I know, I know."
She used to enjoy staying up late on her phone during her middle school days, even hiding under the covers to play.
But afterwards, she lost interest.
Lu’s mother’s concern was purely unnecessary.
However, even as she lay in bed, she didn’t fall asleep right away.
Turning from side to side.
Everything just felt off.
Could it be that she had gotten used to that shaless person in just a few days?
If that were true, it could only an that old habits were etched deep in her bones.
After all, a couple of days really couldn’t make that much of a difference.
It wasn’t until nearly midnight that Lu Jing finally drifted off to sleep.
But she hadn’t slept long before a phone call ca through.
She answered:
"Hello?"
"Lu’er, my stomach hurts."
Huh?
Hearing that, Lu Jing suddenly woke up and sat upright:
"Does it hurt badly? Where exactly? What kind of pain?"
"It hurts so much..."
Then there was a series of beeping tones.
