"We've arrived."
The Water Clone suddenly stopped in its tracks.
The corridor ca to an end, with a passageway on either side of the tall central wall. Akuya raised her hand to sense sothing. From a spiritual and magical perspective, Li Ang couldn't tell what she sensed, but she started moving forward again.
The two followed the Water Dragon into the right passage. The temperature here had already risen to the point where the Fire Elent was condensing into Pure Demon Fla, causing the Pure Magic Water Curtain to falter. Li Ang had no choice but to add another piece of Water Crystal.
Endless firelight surged ahead, and the mont their view widened, a chanical marvel resembling a divine miracle appeared before them.
Li Ang's first thought was the Hamr of the Source artisan Hephaestus's Mountain Copper Furnace tracks, but the gigantic creation here could not be simply described in conventional terms.
It was not a track, not a furnace, not a forge, nor even a simple chanical device. It was a fusion of everything.
This was likely the "chanical Creation Furnace."
Countless chanical arms moved slowly, used to complete complex operations, transporting and assembling components from the machine bed as needed. Each machine was located on different movable platforms, rotating and moving as required.
This thod of construction, different from conventional factories, was due to the raw materials needed being produced by the central furnace of the entire chanical system. Various materials were fused by machines near the center, seemingly needing to be transported to the processing table before their forms solidified, compressing the ti in between to the bare minimum.
"Look there!"
Xiaomo pointed to a place under the machinery not far away, where a Steel Giant was being pieced together.
"Is that a Golem? Impossible, how can there be such a huge Golem?"
The tallest Golem Li Ang had seen was the Guard of the Creation Cauldron, which had torn through space to arrive.
But judging by height, this tallic humanoid creation was taller than that Guard, exceeding twenty ters in height.
Co to think of it, the tallic giant being constructed did sowhat resemble the Furnace Guard in appearance.
The three approached, and both Li Ang and Morales, ordinary mortals, were even more awestruck by the creation.
"Wait," the young man with beast ears realized sothing was wrong, "the chanical City Core has existed for so long, does this thing take so long to build?"
Akuya pointed downward.
Xiaomo ran a few steps ahead, then turned back to pull Li Ang, motioning for him to cover them with the Water Curtain and join him at the guardrail beneath the giant's feet.
Outside the guardrail was not ground but empty space. Below this giant chanical Creation Furnace, there was another area. Beneath the giant's assembly platform was a transportation passage as high as the corridor they ca through, noticeable from the tracks set up. Once the Golem was completed, it would be transported inside.
"This doesn't add up. After all these years, if they were constantly making this kind of thing, the storeroom, however large, would pretty much be filled up, right?" Xiaomo said.
As if responding to his words, the tallic giant above them seed to have been completed, and in the next mont, all machinery began running in reverse, starting to disassemble it.
The disassembled parts were transported layer by layer, being reintroduced into the furnace.
"Without a master, the machinery here just repeats the sa process, waiting for its master to return."
Xiaomo paused, cleared his throat: "Then the next question, its energy—"
"No need to think about that."
Li Ang held up the Orichalcum in front of him: "Even this Magic Staff made by the Do Furnace Association can boast a virtually eternal Energy Source, so it's not surprising that an ancient civilization, skilled in craftsmanship, could achieve the sa."
Despite his words, he also felt that such an expansive affair could be considered a miracle.
Or perhaps, to say it that way wouldn't be appropriate.
The entire gigantic apparatus's function was the rational coordination of resources and tools. The intersecting operations of the machinery were set along specific trajectories, appearing crowded yet never colliding, its overall form resembling a giant tal sphere over a hundred ters in diater from afar. Up close, its complexity and precision were awe-inspiring.
This was not the power of a God, but the brilliance of wisdom.
Li Ang and Xiaomo returned to Akuya's side, and she continued watching the Steel Giant being gradually dismantled.
"Didn't expect even this to be replicated." Akuya said.
Finally, she spoke sothing of substance, and Li Ang imdiately followed up: "What do you an by that?"
The Water Clone turned around and replied: "Although I haven't interacted with this civilization personally, I heard Thanatos ntion that such a civilization once existed. Their craftsmanship couldn't reach divine levels, but they attempted to replicate all the great creations left from the ti of Creation with powers that couldn't rival divine spirits, trying to find their path to divinity."
The young girl pointed at the Golem: "This thing really resembles the Guard of the Creation Furnace."
