Chapter 571: Chapter 290: Shadow Factory
"I can only say there’s a possibility, but ever since I knew her, I haven’t let her go around randomly hacking at people."
"Ever since?"
"It’s not random hacking, they’re just very noisy," luna said.
"Then why don’t you just walk a bit farther away," ii suggested.
"Li Ang’s here."
ii rolled her eyes.
Li Ang actually wanted to leave already, but this ti Andasu’s feet seed rooted to the ground, unable to be moved.
"According to tradition, our racers can choose a fan to accompany them, so everyone, show your best! This is your chance before the official race!" the host announced.
As soon as he finished speaking, Li Ang and his group realized why these fans were so excited. There was an opportunity like this.
"I see, the people on the ship yesterday were so-called fans. I thought they were girlfriends of the racers," Dorothy comnted.
"What training? They arrogantly sped past us while we were on the ship!" Zoe said displeased.
As soon as the host finished speaking, enthusiastic fans began stretching to show off, while the racers, already prepared in advance, found their designated targets and reached out, while others started picking from the surrounding group of girls.
"Let’s go, I can’t stand watching this anymore," Dorothy urged Li Ang’s arm.
The Star Flower Travel Corps pushed and squeezed their way through the crowd to finally leave the gathering area.
Li Ang constantly surrounded his group with the Wind Shield to prevent outsiders from getting directly close, but he couldn’t overtly use the Wind Shield to fully push the crowd away, as this might cause a stampede. Thus, their progress wasn’t difficult, just slow.
Next, finding an inn was also troubleso since many places were fully booked. The City of the Ship’s Rudder typically doesn’t have many foreign visitors, and there aren’t many inns here. After walking half a day, as the sun was setting, they finally found a tavern with resting rooms, though it didn’t seem very reputable.
Clearly, the young girls weren’t satisfied with the environnt and cleanliness here, purely dealing with it for one night.
The group stood in the hallway, and before Li Ang could take out their luggage from the Dinsional Rift, a suppressed voice ca from deep within the throat from the room next door.
Soone like Farina, who has traveled far and wide, showed no change in expression, and luna, who always seed indifferent to the outside world, but the young girls who were no longer naive all blushed in unison.
The place was truly just a pitstop; since it wasn’t yet ti to sleep, there was no need to stay at the tavern, and with the poor environnt on the first floor, to avoid discomfort from overly aggressive gazes, the girls all donned cloaks with hoods, similar to what Andasu used to conceal her figure.
The crowd gathered earlier for the speedboat training race temporarily dispersed, and Li Ang planned to find a better restaurant in the bustling area.
"Take a detour on the way; Xiaomo’s place isn’t far from here," Farina suggested.
"Who’s Xiaomo?" luna imdiately asked.
As she spoke, Dorothy and Zoe only managed to open their mouths halfway.
The Half Elf teasingly said, "You’re more eager than us. What’s your identity, huh?"
After speaking, she predictively circled behind Li Ang, separating herself from the Female Sword Hero, crouching to avoid being seen.
luna, sure enough, had her hand on the sword hilt.
"Don’t mock her," Li Ang quietly told the Half Elf.
"Hmph, I just can’t stand the clingy behavior. Not afraid of dying, just afraid of pain," she retorted.
"I’m not afraid of dying either," luna argued.
"Who asked you," Li Ang said, pressing his temples, nudging Dorothy forward.
Following Farina’s lead, the group arrived in front of Xiaomo’s house, a standalone villa with a yard in a residential area that greatly contrasts with the overall style of the City of the Ship’s Rudder, built independently on flat ground following the City of Trade’s architectural style without using pre-civilization equipnt.
"They built this pretty well. Didn’t expect such a coarse city to have such a unique spot," Dorothy remarked.
Just as Li Ang was about to knock, Farina chuckled and stopped him, touching the mailbox by the gate.
A magic device was activated as a precaution against intruders, Xiaomo clearly inford Farina about it, considering her an old visiting friend.
The next mont, the villa door blasted open, and a black lightning bolt struck across the sky.
Almost simultaneously, two sharp blades crossed before them, blocking the incoming giant sword wrapped in black lightning.
"Annihilation Knight!"
The enemy rushing out from Xiaomo’s ho was indeed an Annihilation Knight, wearing black heavy armor, with a single-eye mark imprinted on the helt, but this one was more massive than any Li Ang had seen.
luna and ii drew their swords. Li Ang and Farina reacted similarly, but having had little direct confrontation with Annihilation Knights, they only raised shields to prepare for retreat. anwhile, the two swordsn, deeply familiar with the Empire’s combat thodology, knew exactly how to respond imdiately.
The blade dance transcended everyone’s visual limits, and before the knight could act, luna’s Celestial Fury instantly ignited the Annihilation Knight, burning the flesh and Annihilator flesh inside the armor into a heap of ice shards.
