Chapter 309: One Of Those Faces
It had taken us a little bit of ti to get from the third circle to the core, even with Zhao Jun Jie’s get out of jail free card. By the ti we got to the building itself, the man was pacing back and forth in front of the door.
"What’s going on?" asked Bin An Sha, still more than a few feet away from the agitated man.
"Where the hell have you been?" demanded Zhao Jun Jie as he stopped suddenly and turned to look at us. "You were supposed to be at your house if you weren’t at the hospital. You were at neither place! I had to send at least 20 n to hunt you down! Where were you?!?"
"Alright," smiled Bin An Sha, his hands raised as if to placate the man. "I understand that you are upset, but you need to back the fuck off. I am not your private doctor, nor am I under your control. I will go where I want when I want, and if you don’t like that, I suggest you find soone else to help you. Soone you can control better."
"Look," sighed Zhao Jun Jie. As soon as he spoke, he started to deflate, and I could see the sheer fear in his eyes. "I’m sorry. But Wu Bai Hee isn’t doing well, and I need you to co heal her."
"Thank you for that," nodded Bin An Sha gracefully. "Could you tell
what happened?"
"I don’t know," admitted the other man. "I ca back maybe about mid-morning, and she was lying on the floor in her own blood."
I knew I wasn’t the only one wondering why the hell he was out here when he should have been by her side. Weren’t they madly in love? Because I could tell you right now that if one of my guys had left
in a pool of my own blood, you would never find his body.
"Then let’s hurry," nodded Bin An Sha, never once changing his expression. "Hopefully, we can still save the baby."
Zhao Jun Jie’s eyes widened when he heard that. "Do you think that there is sothing wrong with the baby?"
For the fourth ti today, the stupidity of n managed to shock . How could he not assu that her bleeding out would affect the baby? Even if it wasn’t directly linked to her going into labor, losing blood when pregnant was not a good thing.
We might not have rushed up the 20 so floors, but we did get up them as fast as we could. Rip, more than a little upset with the idea of
struggling with all the stairs, picked
up like a bride and carried
the whole way up.
Opening the door to our floor, I could see a few people scurrying around the hallway like chickens with their heads cut off.
One woman, who looked to be our age, rushed up to Bin An Sha and almost threw herself at his feet. "They found you, oh thank the gods. I know you’ll be able to save her," said the woman as she looked up at Bin An Sha.
The look on her face wasn’t sothing that I usually associated with fear or concern... it was more like she was drinking in the sight of him.
But not in a creepy; she wants to sleep with him way... more like... long lost family? Was that possible?
"I’ll do my best," grunted Doctor Daddy as he gently pushed the woman to the side and went straight into Zhao Jun Jie’s condo.
"You guys go ho and have fun," I smiled, ruffling Wang Chang Ming’s hair from where he was seated in Cheng Bo Jing’s arms. "We’ll be back ho when we can."
"Be safe, mommy," nodded Wang Chang Ming as the rest of the guys gave
a kiss on the cheek.
"He’s yours?" asked the woman, tilting her head toward the now closed door of Bin An Sha’s place.
"I’m afraid that you are going to have to be a bit more specific," I said, putting on my best doctor smile. "The n are mine, and the little boy is too, even though I didn’t give birth to him."
The woman nodded as she reached out and took my hand. Placing it in her elbow, she walked us over to Wu Bai Hee’s place as if we were long lost friends.
I have to admit, I liked the feeling.
"I lost my boy when he was young. He followed another woman ho, and I haven’t been able to get him back since," admitted the woman, and my heart went out to her. Child abduction was alive and well in my first life, and I had heard more than my fair share of horror stories about children who just disappeared one day, never to be seen again.
"I am so sorry to hear that," I murmured, not knowing what else to say. In situations like that, words were pretty much pointless, like offering your condolences at a funeral.
"You’re a dear," smiled the woman. "Is the doctor one of your n, too?"
Her words caused
to blush because while we had never really said the words out loud, I did consider him to be one of mine. But calling him my boyfriend was just weird.
"Ah, so sweet. What’s your na," crooned the woman, a big smile on her face as she let
into Wu Bai Hee’s condo. There was no one around, but I could see a pool of dark red blood on the floor of her living room.
"Wang Tian Mu," I replied, glad that I was spared seeing Wu Bai Hee like that. I greatly disliked the woman, but I wouldn’t wish that on my greatest enemy...
Which I guess she was.
"Huh, did you know that Tian Mu is the na of a goddess?" smiled the woman. "She controlled lightning."
"That would be an interesting power to have. My power runs more into healing," I shrugged.
I had no idea why I was still talking to this woman, but it felt like sothing I used to do all the ti. "Do we know each other?" I asked, my brows furrowed as I tried to think about where I would have t her. "You seem familiar."
The woman tilted back her head. "My western na is Deter, but you can call
Yi She Ji," she said. "And I guess I have one of those faces."
