Chapter 190: Complete

Fan Teng Fei leaned forward to give

a kiss on the forehead, not caring that I was still sitting in Rip’s arms.

I loved and appreciated how far he was willing to go to make

feel safe and secure, but even I knew that keeping all of the guys within my eyesight 24/7 was a bit much. Hell, even Bin An Sha had snuck into that group, even though I don’t know when or how.

I mused through my thoughts, trying to figure out what I needed when there was pounding on the door.

Bin An Sha and Fan Teng Fei shared a look, and the forr walked calmly toward the door while the latter stood in front of . Rip remained impassive, burrowing his nose into my neck. It was like he knew the others would take care of things.

"Doctor, we need you down at the first South gate," panted the ssenger. "Two teams went out yesterday to grab supplies, but they ca across a group of humans. Most are injured, and the blood has brought out the zombies. There are even reports of a few Reavers circling on the fringes.

My heart shot up, and I pushed myself out of Rip’s lap, almost falling on the ground.

The ssenger continued to pant, and I was impressed at how clearly he was able to get his ssage across.

But my brain was focused on only two things: my n might be listed under those hurt... and there were Reavers around.

I looked at Rip wide-eyed. If I could get my hands on a Reaver or two, that would save

days of recovery.

Rip nodded and gently passed

over to Fan Teng Fei. "Keep an eye on her. Don’t let her do anything stupid," he grunted before he barreled past the ssenger and down the hallway.

It was funny; I might not like him out of my sight, but I didn’t feel the sa panic as the guys. Probably because I knew Rip was a wreaking ball that could co out of any confrontation without a scratch. The other guys, on the other hand...

"Let

get my bag," grunted Bin An Sha as he turned around and went into the guest bedroom that doubled as the hospital room.

"We need to go with him," I said, looking up at Fan Teng Fei. I needed to see with my own eyes whether or not the guys were okay.

I was just scared of what would happen if they weren’t.

"You don’t need to," he assured . "They will co up here as soon as they can, and you’ll be able to see them then. They won’t want you to push yourself if you aren’t comfortable."

"I know," and I did. "But I still want to be there."

"Then go put on your shoes, and I’ll carry you down. Leave it to the pretentious doctor to need to be on the upper floors. No wonder he doesn’t leave the house. No one wants to go up and down all those stairs," joked Fan Teng Fei as he scooped

up in a bridal hold.

I chuckled, but sothing told

he wasn’t that far off.

-----

"Fan Teng Fei!" grunted Bai Long Qiang as soon as he saw the man. "Why did you bring her?"

"Hello to you too; I guess not even a bullet could make you less of an asshole," replied Fan Teng Fei as he carried

over to where my guys and a few others were huddled around in a circle.

Bin An Sha imdiately went to work, triaging the patients.

I tapped Fan Teng Fei, and he gently set

on my feet. "I’m good," I murmured up to him, not sure he could hear

in all the chaos.

Troop were running around in formation, getting ready to defend the city against any zombies, and people were screaming as their loved ones breathed their last breath.

It was a warzone and not one that I really expected to see when I woke up this morning.

But that was the thing about this New World: nothing ever went as expected.

I left Fan Teng Fei to hiss at Bai Long Qiang and walked over to where Bin An Sha was crouched over a patient. I could see his power healing the man, and I shuddered, expecting an attack at any ti.

But there was none. Instead of hatred, the man looked at Bin An Sha like he was a Saint or a God.

Going into his d bag, I pulled out a pair of latex gloves. While that man looked grateful to be healed, I wasn’t going to take any chance.

"What do you need?" I asked, taking in a deep breath. I didn’t want to go down this route again, but it seed like I couldn’t keep my backbone for more than a few hours. As soon as soone was injured, the training over two lifetis kicked in, and I was ready to go.

"You are too weak," he grunted, never pulling his attention away from the man in front of him.

"I am not too weak for minor field surgery or stitching soone back together," I said, dismissing his concern. He knew I was the Healer, but he didn’t know why I would never take the chance on healing anyone with that power ever again.

Even I had to laugh at myself for that thought.

Okay, so I wasn’t going to be healing an outsider with my power without a damn good reason.

"Okay, the ones to the left are the least injured. If you want to start with them?"

"No, I start on the other side," I shrugged. I understood where he was coming from, but even if he was at full strength, at least fifteen people was needing ’serious’ healing. He would be drained before he got even halfway through.

"Cheng Bo Jing!" I yelled out as I made my way to the right side.

The man in question broke away from the group and made his way toward . "What do you need, Little Rabbit?" he asked, coming to a stop at my side.

"Here, you are probably going to need this," added in Fan Teng Fei as he ca running toward . I looked down at his hand, only to see that he had my full doctor’s kit. The one of the many that I had left with my supplies back in City D.

"Thank you," I breathed. The feelings that ca over

when I saw that black backpack was like nothing I could describe.

I felt... complete.
