Chapter 129: Why Are You Here (2)

The old butler was worried about Su Qing’s baby. He could not stand his young master’s attitude, so he dissuaded him in a low voice. “Young Master, Miss is pregnant now. Being agitated would be bad for the baby. So you should…” At least go easy on her.

Mu Tingfeng did not answer him. He walked to the sofa opposite Su Qing and sat down. He was taking so ti to appreciate the exasperated expression on Su Qing’s face. The latter was now grinding her teeth in anger. Feeling that his frustration from before had dissipated a little, he asked, “Why did Brother Yi send you to my place?”

Su Qing snorted and said, “Yi has to leave town for a few days. He felt uncomfortable leaving

ho alone, so he sent

to you. By the way, tomorrow happens to be the day of my regular check-up, so you’re coming with

for my prenatal check-up.”

Mu Tingfeng pondered in silence for a long while. He was obviously thinking about whether he could set aside so ti tomorrow to accompany Su Qing to her prenatal check-up.

Su Qing was once again angered by Mu Tingfeng’s act. She was already having mood swings due to her pregnancy, so she cussed imdiately in a low voice, “If you had ti to attend other people’s birthday banquet, why couldn’t you spare so ti to accompany

for my prenatal check-up?”

Upon hearing that, Mu Tingfeng’s expression turned grim, as he asked in a cold voice, “Who told you that?”

Su Qing was startled by Mu Tingfeng’s sudden reproof. Her eyes turned slightly to look at the old butler on the side. Then she smiled faintly and said, “Mr. Butler, I’m hungry.”

Sharp-witted as he was, there was no way the old butler did not get that Su Qing was trying to send him away so that she could talk alone with Mu Tingfeng. So, he nodded with a faint smile. “I’ll have the kitchenette prepare dinner for you and Young Master.” After saying that, he thoughtfully took away all the servants in the hall with him.

After seeing all of them had left, Su Qing stood up imdiately and walked to Mu Tingfeng’s side. She asked curiously, “Cousin Tingfeng, did you really attend the Zhao family’s banquet? I thought you hated the Zhao family? Why did you change all of sudden? Or did you go there on purpose trying to embarrass Eldest Lady Zhao because you resented her for what happened at the cafe that day? But that doesn’t make sense. I heard that Eldest Lady Zhao barely even talked to you that night, while you, on the contrary,…”

Mu Tingfeng’s expression turned grim. The cold aura around him started to churn madly. When Su Qing brought the topic up just now, he was slightly caught off guard. Now that he cald down, he sort of figured it out.

Only one person knew that he went to the Zhao family’s house. It was possible that Su Qing heard about it from other guests who went to the banquet that day, but since Su Qing knew so much about what happened, it was more likely that she was told by soone who was close to him.

Mu Tingfeng thought to himself that maybe he should deduct that soone’s bonus for this month. Since he had such a big mouth, he should teach him a lesson.

At the sa ti, Secretary Xia, who was imrsed in the joy of getting a pay raise, let out a big sneeze on his way ho. It did not affect his happy mood, as he continued to hum a song while he was going ho. Little did he know that his salary that had just been given a raise, was being deducted little by little into a negative number.

Su Qing saw that Mu Tingfeng did not respond for a long ti. Her eyes flickered and as she pressed on and asked, “Hey, Feng, just what are you up to?”

“What do you an?”

“Well, you and that ex-wife of yours. Don’t you hide it from . I’ve heard about all from Mr. Butler. You’ve been acting strange since you divorced that girl. I heard that you even asked the girl out for a eting not long ago. I thought you really hated her before? Weren’t you desperate to stay away from her? What made you change all of sudden? And you even attended so sort of banquet for her. You hated banquets like this in the past. Young Aunt dragged you to a banquet once in the past, in the end, you managed to shut every guest up in the banquet up with your cold aura whenever they tried to talk to you. Since then, Young Aunt did not dare to force you to banquets like this anymore…”

Before Su Qing could finish, Mu Tingfeng interrupted her. “I didn’t attend it because of her.”

Su Qing shot him a scornful glare before Mu Tingfeng finished his sentence. She had a ‘who are you fooling’ look on her face.

Mu Tingfeng was speechless. “…”

“Fine, fine, fine. If you don’t want to talk about this, let’s talk about your recent…” Su Qing looked at Mu Tingfeng with a vague smile on her face. “Feng, be honest with , you can’t possibly just realize that you liked her after you divorced her, right?”

Mu Tingfeng’s brows twitched and his expression slightly changed. “Does that seem possible?”

“Why not? You and she…”

“It’s impossible. We’re divorced!” Mu Tingfeng said it with an extraordinarily firm tone. It was more like he was saying that to himself, rather than to Su Qing.

Did he like that woman? How was that possible? That woman was his nightmare for four years. She was the biggest stain in his perfect life. How could he possibly fall for her?

His head was filled with all those good justifications, but a voice in his heart was implicitly reminding him that if he did not like her nor care about her, then what had he been doing recently?

He was not that kind of person who would ddle with other people’s business, yet he was mad when he saw a bruise on that woman’s body by accident. He even sent Xia Zhetao to check on her situation, and he had rushed over imdiately when he heard that soone was causing trouble with her.

He was not a wicked person, yet he provoked that woman on purpose. He even did sothing childish like being late to their eting on purpose, just to see that exasperated look on that woman’s face, and to see how she had to hold it back in spite of all her fury.

He detested those social banquets, though he attended the event on an impulse after hearing that that woman would attend as well. Not only did he almost lose his temper because of that woman’s behaviour at that banquet, he even took her ho personally and left her his coat in the end.

Everything he did was signaling an obvious fact.

As if he was stung by sothing, Mu Tingfeng jerked to his feet from the sofa. He said to the person by his side with a tense expression, “Weren’t you hungry? Have an early night after dinner. If you need anything, talk to Uncle Zhao. I’ll take you to your prenatal check-up tomorrow.”

After saying that, he did not even give Su Qing ti to respond. He had turned around and strode upstairs. He seed a lot like he was…bolting.

Su Qing was stunned for a while before she ca around. Staring at Mu Tingfeng’s back, she suddenly covered her mouth and laughed out in a low voice. “Hahahahaha! I can’t hold it back anymore! This is so hilarious! This is the first ti I saw such an expression on his face! Hahahaha! No way, I can’t be the only one who knows about this. That would be unfair. I must tell Young Aunt about this.”

Su Qing laughed a little longer before she could compose herself. She took out her phone and made an overseas call. “Hello, Young Aunt? It’s , Qing. Yes. I have sothing to tell you. Feng divorced that woman. Yes, right. Over a month ago. She got custody of the child. Well…Calm down, Young Aunt. That’s not the biggest problem here…After Feng divorced her, he seed to have realized that he was in love with that woman all this ti.”

There were a few seconds of eerie dead silence on the other end of the phone. Su Qing’s lips curled into a gloating smile as she enunciated slowly, “So I’d like to ask if you’d like to co over with my mom… to enjoy a good show, Young Aunt?”
