"Desire denied." Ivy Linden said calmly.

Her calmness was in stark contrast to Chantel’s furious face at the mont, which enraged Chantel, who wanted to step forward and slap Ivy twice, breaking the calm on her face.

Chantel just raised her hand, and the pain from the injury on her chest made her wince. She gritted her teeth, leaving Ivy’s room angrily.

About half an hour later.

Ivy held her empty stomach, and the door was knocked.

"Mommy, are you there?"

It was Nicole’s voice.

"Yes."

After saying this, Ivy straightened her back, not wanting Nicole to see her in such a sorry state.

The door opened again, and Nicole’s petite figure walked in.

She ca to Ivy’s side and took out a takeaway box from her arms, the aroma of food wafting from it.

Ivy was very surprised, her stomach growling: "Nicole, how did you bring food over to Mommy?"

Nicole handed the takeaway box to Ivy. Inside was fried rice with egg, ham, scrambled eggs, and snow peas as a side dish, the sll was enough to make one’s mouth water.

"I heard the sound of things being smashed downstairs. I asked the auntie who brought , and she told that Uncle Howard was in a bad mood today and turned over the table. Nicole was worried Mommy didn’t have lunch, so I borrowed the auntie’s phone to order a takeaway for Mommy."

Ivy was deeply moved; this little girl Nicole was so considerate.

Ivy finished the entire box of fried rice, and her stomach was extrely comfortable.

At this ti, the maid ca over, and slling the scent of food in the room, she was surprised. Richie had said not to give Ivy food, but she hadn’t watched Nicole closely and didn’t know where the little girl had managed to get food for Ivy.

"Nicole, why did you co here? If Richie finds out, I’ll be fired." The maid ca in and picked up Nicole, intending to take the little girl out of the room.

"Let go of , let go of , I want to be with Mommy." Nicole struggled in the maid’s arms.

"No, you can go anywhere but here."

"I just want to be with Mommy."

Nicole couldn’t break free from the maid’s grasp, after all, she was an adult, so she pleaded with Ivy: "Mommy, save ."

Of course, Ivy wanted to keep Nicole by her side, but she was afraid that if Howard saw her, he might get angry again, and she didn’t want Howard to scare the child.

"Nicole, Mommy has eaten, and I’m a bit sleepy now. Why don’t you go play for a while, and after Mommy takes a nap, I’ll co down to watch cartoons with you, okay?"

When Ivy said this, Nicole obediently nodded, stopped struggling, and went out with the maid.

Ivy sat on the bed, unable to sleep.

However, Nicole’s visit gave her so inspiration. If Howard dared not to give her food again, she could just order food delivery herself. She really was foolish enough to forget that she could use her phone to order food.

She would spend her own money to order food delivery, surely Howard couldn’t control that, right?

Around four in the afternoon.

Howard returned to the villa.

He glanced toward Ivy’s room upstairs and asked the maid: "After I left, did she ask you to get her anything to eat?"

The maid thought Howard was referring to Chantel: "No, although we sent food to Miss Young’s room, Miss Young wouldn’t eat it. Richie, I feel Miss Young may be unwell, should we find a... doctor...."

Howard frowned and interrupted the maid: "I was asking about Ivy Linden."

Whether Chantel ate or not, what did that have to do with him?

"Ah?" The maid was taken aback, not reacting imdiately.

"Do I need to repeat myself?" Howard asked coldly.

The maid shuddered and quickly bowed her head, saying: "Sorry, Richie, I misunderstood your words. Ivy Linden has been in her room, she hasn’t co down to ask for food."

Howard furrowed his brows tightly; wasn’t she very hungry? She didn’t seize the opportunity to get so food while he was gone?

Howard felt a little irritated; why did he even care about Ivy? If she wouldn’t eat, she deserved to be hungry.

The maid saw Howard’s unpleasant expression and timidly asked: "Should we send so food to Ivy’s room?"

"No need, she has her own legs, if she’s hungry she’ll go to the kitchen for food."

After saying this, Howard felt annoyed again.

"Tell the kitchen staff to kick her out if she goes in."

"Ah?"

The maid was sowhat unable to keep up with Howard’s tempo; what exactly was wrong with Richie? Sotis he cared for Ivy, other tis he said things like this? Doesn’t Richie like Miss Young?

"Alright, Richie, I understand."

Seeing Howard’s impatience, the maid quickly replied.

At dinner ti.

Howard thought he would see Ivy; she would co over, starving, to beg him for so food.

But, apart from Chantel, Ivy didn’t co down.

Chantel was so hungry she was seeing stars, but without Howard moving his chopsticks, she didn’t dare to move, holding her growling stomach and painfully enduring.

Howard had no appetite at the mont, thinking about what that woman was doing in the room? Wasn’t she hungry long ago? Why hadn’t she co down yet?

Howard really wanted to go up and drag Ivy downstairs for an explanation.

Reason told him not to do that.

About an hour later, Chantel felt she would starve to death on the spot, Howard still hadn’t moved his chopsticks, and the food on the table was still steaming, having been reheated three tis by the maid on Howard’s orders.

"Uncle Howard." Nicole’s childish voice ca: "You haven’t eaten yet?"

Nicole ran to Howard’s side, was hugged onto Howard’s lap, she looked at the dishes on the table, and her mouth watered.

"Yeah." Seeing Nicole’s expression, Howard’s handso face darkened, he asked the maid: "You didn’t feed her enough?"

The maid taking care of Nicole was scared and said: "Richie, we’re innocent, how dare we not feed her enough?"

"Then you didn’t feed her well." If the food were good enough, Nicole wouldn’t show such a look seeing the dishes on his table.

The maid was so scared she was about to cry: "Absolutely not, Richie, the dinner standard for Nicole is the sa as your dinner standard."

Nicole showed a cute smile and said to Howard: "Uncle Howard, the auntie treats Nicole very well! Nicole ate too many snacks in the afternoon and didn’t feel like eating dinner, but now Nicole is hungry again."

Howard gently tapped Nicole’s little nose: "Naughty."

Nicole giggled.

The maid covered her beating heart, just now she was scared to death.

Chantel saw Nicole sitting on Howard’s lap, Howard treating her like his own daughter, gently hugging the little girl, picking food for her, and personally feeding it into the little girl’s mouth.

Chantel was jealous to death, according to what she knew, this little girl nad Nicole wasn’t Howard’s child at all.

Howard could be so good to a child not his own, it showed he would definitely be a good father in the future. If she could get pregnant with Howard’s child, even if Howard hadn’t fallen in love with her, he would, for the sake of the child, give her so status.

Chantel suddenly had a terrible idea in her mind; she wanted to get rid of the child in Ivy’s womb.
