Florence Webb was stunned. She had been with Nolan Quinn for so many years, and though they had argued, even to the point where both sets of parents and relatives knew about it, Nolan had never spoken to her about divorce no matter how much they quarreled or argued.
Florence watched as Nolan walked away without looking back, his silhouette filled with cold determination.
Her eyes grew wet.
"Mom, I’m sorry."
Seeing his mother so sad, Jack Quinn felt a deep sense of guilt.
He was just too impatient. He shouldn’t have personally intervened to stop Leo Griffin. He should have calmly called on another doctor to intervene, and that way, his father wouldn’t have taken out his anger on him.
Florence felt for her son.
"Jack, you don’t need to bla yourself. This isn’t your fault." It was because she was old and no longer attractive. If she were younger, there was no way Nolan would have said such heartless words.
Back then, Nolan had turned red-faced with old Mr. Quinn just to win her over, even unwilling to accept the family business... Mount Cygnus Hospital.
In the end, Nolan prevailed.
Old Mr. Quinn lost, afraid of losing Nolan as a son, he could only nod and agree, allowing her to marry into the Quinn family.
Florence entered the Quinn family, and the next year she gave birth to their son, Jack. From then on, she gained status because of her son, even old Mr. Quinn, who had always looked down on her, changed his attitude towards her.
Florence thought of old Mr. Quinn.
She felt reassured, and she turned around to comfort Jack: "Your father said those things in anger, Jack. Don’t get angry at him. Your grandfather dotes on you so much, one day Mount Cygnus will definitely pass into your hands."
Florence gave Jack a sense of confidence, as if telling him that no matter what mistakes he made or what big shots he offended, as long as old Mr. Quinn was alive, Nolan wasn’t truly in charge of this household.
Jack was very clear on this point, so he didn’t take to heart what Nolan said in anger. He was just a bit remorseful that what he did wasn’t perfect enough, causing Nolan to take it out on his mother.
"Mm, I won’t be mad at Dad."
Jack said to Florence: "Mom, don’t overthink things either. Dad’s lived with you for so many years, he only spoke like that because he was angry."
Jack noticed the look of disappointnt on Florence’s face.
Jack mistakenly thought Florence lost confidence in Nolan.
Jack said again: "Mom, don’t worry, if Dad really dares to do that, I will definitely stand by you. Grandpa dotes on so much, for my sake, he will also stand by you."
Florence was moved to tears. If it weren’t for Jack’s hand injury, she would have wanted to hug her son tightly.
She was truly fortunate to have such a good son.

Ivy Linden received a call from an unknown number.
"Hello, who’s calling?"
"Guess who."
"How boring."
Ivy Linden hung up directly.
Soon, the call ca again.
Without thinking, Ivy Linden hung up again.
A mont later, a ssage popped up.
"Little Ivy, it’s your brother Howard. Forgotten so soon?" The other party’s tone was flippant, like a playboy.
Ivy Linden frowned deeply. Who was Howard? She had no idea who that was.
Ivy Linden deleted the ssage and blocked the number.
Howard Yeats didn’t receive a reply from Ivy Linden. He tried sending a ssage again, only to find... he couldn’t send it. His lips twitched as he tried calling Ivy, but couldn’t get through.
"Well, well! Little Ivy, you dare to block ?"
Howard smirked slyly, pulling another phone from his pocket and calling Ivy Linden once more.
"Hello, who is this?"
The opening line was very familiar.
"It’s Howard Yeats."
Howard gave his na directly.
Ivy Linden was silent for a mont.
Howard raised an eyebrow; had she finally rembered who he was?
"Are you the creep who texted earlier? Buzz off..."
After cursing, Ivy Linden imdiately hung up.
This person was truly boring; she blocked one number, and he used another to call.
Howard heard the "beep beep" from the phone and his dark eyes deepened.
Great, calling him a creep.
Great, telling him to buzz off.
Howard’s male pride was severely challenged.
Ivy Linden blocked Howard again, but suddenly a ssage popped up on her phone, from yet another unknown number. Ivy guessed it was definitely Howard again.
Ivy Linden held her forehead... Just how many phones did this creep have?
Ivy opened the ssage, intending to block the new number as well. But upon seeing the ssage content, her pupils shrunk, a panic rising in her heart. Not only did she not block Howard, she even called him back.
"What happened to Ivana? Tell now."
"Say ’Brother Howard’."
Howard’s voice was sultry, almost seducing Ivy Linden.
Ivy Linden bit her lip, utterly reluctant: "If you don’t tell , I’ll call Ivana myself and ask her."
Howard chuckled, casually saying: "If Ivana wanted to tell you, you wouldn’t be waiting till now. She doesn’t want you to worry, can’t you see that? Besides, she just had surgery, are you sure you want to call her now?"
Hearing this, Ivy Linden was close to tears.
She knew, she definitely knew.
An idol and goddess like her, always thinking of others.
"Little Ivy, if you say ’Brother Howard’ now, I might imdiately tell you Ivana’s hospital address. But if you don’t, I won’t be happy, and then you won’t find out!"
Ivy Linden secretly cursed Howard as a "bastard."
Ivy Linden held it in repeatedly, then softly said: "Brother Howard."
Howard’s face broke into a satisfied grin: "Huh? What did you say? I didn’t hear it."
Ivy Linden clenched her fingers, was he deaf? Couldn’t hear?
He was doing it on purpose.
"Brother Howard." Ivy Linden shouted loudly.
Howard frowned deeply, his ears almost going deaf from her shouting: "The sound is too loud, not gentle enough."
"Howard Yeats, enough."
"If little Ivy isn’t willing, Brother Howard won’t force you, I’ll hang up then!"
"Brother Howard."
Ivy Linden’s tears flowed out, this ti she spoke softly, intentionally gentle, mixed with reluctant stubbornness, a flavor all its own.
Howard was extrely pleased.
"Mm, Ivy is really obedient, brother Howard loves you."
Howard spoke sickly sweet.
Ivy Linden really felt like throwing up.
Ivy Linden’s voice was cold: "Now can you tell which hospital Ivana is in?"
Howard said: "Mount Cygnus Hospital."
Ivy Linden asked again: "Which room?"
Howard said: "Little Ivy, don’t rush, Brother Howard will wait for you at the entrance of Mount Cygnus Hospital. We’ll go see Ivana together."
His intentions were clear; he wanted to go with her.
Ivy Linden couldn’t bring her husband along.
Mount Cygnus Hospital, VIP Room 2.
Ivana Monroe was surprised to see the two people entering: "Ivy...you...why are you here?" Moreover, with Howard Yeats?
