South of Fla City, at the Scorching Volcano District...

Even in winter, the temperatures never dipped below 40 degrees here.

Temperatures could climb up to about 50 degrees in the sumr.

It was comparable to the temperatures in the Class-2 abyss dinsional rift.

The difference was that the number of plants in Fla City’s Scorching Volcano District trumped that of the Class-2 abyss dinsional rift manifold.

Nurous plants that thrived in hot weather took root here.

A large number of plant feys leeched spirit qi from the constant flow out of the magma.

Thus, the spirit qi in the area was much thicker than in other places.

This resulted in many wood-type plant feys, which originated from other areas, evolving into wood-type and fire-type after spending ti in the Scorching Volcano.

These wood-type and fire-type plant feys beca Fla City’s specialties.

A young girl wearing a Redbud Interdiate Spirit Qi Academy uniform stood next to a massive sienna-colored rock.

She was commandeering an all-black, tal-lined wild bull that was charging amongst a group of Silver Fire-Spotted Wolves.

The Fire-Spotted Wolves were covered with brown fur that was ssier and sparser than other wolf-type feys.

After all, a thick coat of fur was disadvantageous to feys who lived in such a high-temperature environnt.

Flecks of red were dotted all over the brown fur, and they emanated fire energy.

Suddenly, a Fire-Spotted Wolf larger than the rest howled.

Other than the Fire-Spotted Wolf, which had its head smashed in by the black rampaging bull, the red spots on the rest of the Fire-Spotted Wolves lit up simultaneously.

The scarlet flas jetted out of the Fire-Spotted Wolves’ jaws toward the wild black bull.

The young girl dressed in the Redbud Interdiate Spirit Qi Academy uniform was Chu Ci.

When she saw the flas closing in on the Obsidian Iron Wild Bull, her eyes lit up, and she exclaid, “Obsidian Iron Wild Bull, use Pain Buffer.”

The Obsidian Iron Wild Bull’s originally black body radiated a gem-like luminescence—the legendary rainbow black color.

The Fire-Spotted Wolves’ flas descended upon the Obsidian Iron Wild Bull but failed to burn it. Instead, it seed to be subsud by the Obsidian Iron Wild Bull’s glowing skin.

The Fire-Spotted Wolves’ attack caused the ground around the Obsidian Iron Wild Bull to sizzle.

However, the Obsidian Iron Wild Bull appeared totally unaffected.

Flas wrapped around the Obsidian Iron Wild Bull as it charged toward the Fire-Spotted Wolves, whose red spots had dulled.

The Fire Spotted Wolves flew into a state of panic, having not expected their attack to fail.

Faced with the fire-covered Obsidian Iron Wild Bull, the Fire-Spotted Wolves knew they were in trouble.

The head of the pack bolted off in fright, despite the injury to its hind legs.

The ferocious Obsidian Iron Wild Bull suddenly let out a pained roar.

After the gem-like luminescence around the Obsidian Iron Wild Bull disappeared, the flas quickly started to consu its body.

When the Obsidian Iron Wild Bull was being burned, dots of green lights full of vitality appeared all over its body.

Chu Ci, who was standing off to the side, scrunched her face with worry and heartache.

The Vajra Butterfly that was on Chu Ci’s shoulder fluttered its wings.

At that mont, a pair of white marble-like hands patted Chu Ci’s shoulders.

A frost-covered woman carrying an air of immortality gently spoke to Chu Ci. “Don’t worry. The ability Pain Buffer, which your Bronze/Fantasy Breed Obsidian Iron Wild Bull advanced to Silver, is equipped with Pain Absorption. It is more than capable of taking this amount of damage. Besides, because it often feeds on tal spiritual ingredients, it allowed it to build its tolerance against flas like this and increased its body’s durability.”

Chu Ci’s worries seed to be significantly alleviated. However, the sa could not be said about the heartache she felt.

“The Obsidian Iron Wild Bull has already reached Silver/Fantasy I. I think my fighting abilities have improved considerably and will not be increasing anyti soon. It’s about ti for us to go back,” said Chu Ci.

Cold Moon looked at Chu Ci in admiration.

In the beginning, she had only co to Redbud City because of the Moon Empress’ order.

Cold Moon had long beco resigned to the fact that Lin Yuan was Moon Empress’s disciple.

Chu Ci was only riding on Lin Yuan’s coattails.

However, after spending ti with her, Cold Moon had realized that the ostensibly docile girl was actually extrely determined.

When she made her mind up about sothing, she was willing to put in more effort than anyone else in order to see it through.

She possessed a resilience well beyond her age of 15 years.

Cold Moon initially intended to take Chu Ci out on a training excursion during the holidays.

However, Cold Moon realized that when she trained Chu Ci, she was rely performing the responsibility of a guardian.

Chu Ci took care of every other aspect, even wilderness survival. She would even prepare Cold Moon’s share.

Cold Moon thought back to when she had first glimpsed Lin Yuan’s information, which included a section on Chu Ci.

The siblings support each other and remain steadfast despite the trials they undergo. It’s heartbreaking to watch them.

Cold Moon reached out her arm and gently pressed down the two stray hairs on Chu Ci’s head as she asked, “Do you miss your brother?”

Chu Ci answered honestly, “It’s been four months since I last saw Lin Yuan. I miss him.”

Cold Moon felt a pang in her heart. She could feel the deep sibling bond in Chu Ci’s words. It was sincere and warm.
