1702 Battle That Cannot be Lost!
The rules of Capture the General were more complicated, and it was a more important segnt of the Major Federation eting than the group battle was.
Capture the General was broken down into three rounds
The first round was a three-versus-three battle in which each three-man team had to choose one amongst themselves to get a general that the other two had to protect.
Besides injuring or killing the other team’s general, each team’s general could decide whether to proceed with the battle.
The second round would proceed with the sa generals while one of the other two mbers of each team would swap out. The battle would proceed in the sa format as the first round. A team could win by killing the other team’s general, or a team’s general could concede defeat.
The third round would be a one-on-one fight between the generals of both teams.
The fight would only end when one side won by killing their opponent or lost by conceding defeat.
Although the rules involved three rounds, one side could also claim victory early by winning two consecutive rounds if their general remained alive.
If the general of either side was killed, victory would be directly awarded to the other side.
As such, each team’s general had to be a spirit qi professional who was competent in all areas.
Normally, a spirit qi professional competent in all areas would have less impressive abilities than one skilled in only one area.
However, they would be able to perform well in Capture the General because the chosen generals were not allowed to receive healing throughout all three rounds unless they or their teammates had healing abilities of their own.
However, if they sent a healing-type spirit qi professional or support-type spirit qi professional to be part of the team, the already limited combat power of the team would diminish even more.
For Capture the General, picking the general would be a challenging problem.
Including the general, there would be four people in total from each side who participated in Capture the General.
The other three mbers of each team could not participate in the following group battle, but the winning team’s general could.
This ant that a spirit qi professional with comprehensive power was needed to lay the ground for the following group battle.
The best choice for the Radiance Federation would be to send Liu Yifan to participate in Capture the General.
If Liu Yifan volunteered to participate in Capture the General, Qian Yu would definitely step in.
Moreover, Liu Yifan was not a jack-of-all-trades type of spirit qi professional. Thus, he was not suited to be the general.
Li Yang had suggested Capture the General because he recognized this.
But besides Liu Yifan, who else could take up that position?
In order to participate in three rounds, the general had to be able to control the drain of their spirit qi to ensure that they had enough left over for the final one-on-one fight.
Regardless of whether or not their opponent still had a lot of spiritual power left over, their loss would be guaranteed if they ran out of spirit qi.
But before Liu Yifan could speak, the elderly man seated on the center golden pillar swept his gaze across Liu Yifan and the young people standing behind him before he said, “The Radiance Federation has no reason to turn such a request down. Li Yang spoke up imdiately after. “I was afraid that the Radiance Federation would ask to hold the friendly match on Star Web! A real battle is much better for demonstrating a spirit qi professional’s character. Fighting while knowing that you can’t truly die is a completely different feeling from knowing that death is a real threat. It might be a friendly match, but attacks can’t always be fully controlled. I hope the Radiance Federation will be understanding in the event of an accidental injury!”
From the mont that the Radiance Federation accepted the format of Capture the General and group battle, Li Yang stopped bothering to hide his fangs.
The comnts streaming into Star Web had slowed. All of them were holding their breaths and silently offering moral support to the Radiance Federation.
The Freedom Federation and Radiance Federation had started coming up with their own strategies.
Liu Yifan looked at Liu Jie, Lin Yuan, Zong Ze, and finally Lin Yuan before saying, “Is there any among the four of you who can take on the responsibility of being the general? If none of you wish to do it, I shall.”
Liu Yifan had participated in nurous Capture the General battles and knew how much pressure the general had to withstand.
Hence, he only asked to hear their opinions but was ready to take on the role himself.
His decision ca out of a place of consideration for Zong Ze, Liu Jie, Lin Yuan, and Gao Feng.
Capture the General was very dangerous and led to death very easily.
Additionally, none out of the four of them had experience with Capture the General and did not know how to control their spirit qi in the first two rounds.
At every Major Federation eting, there would be federations that sacrificed the other three mbers in order to give the general a chance to claim victory in the final round.
This was because conceding defeat was not allowed in the last round.
Normally, one of the generals of the two battling federations would end up dead.
Given that Liu Jie’s goal was to protect Lin Yuan, he did not volunteer.
After a mont’s consideration, Zong Ze felt that his battle style of explosive power did not make him a suitable candidate for general.
It was not even a question for Gao Feng as there was no way a support-type spirit qi professional would be able to survive when surrounded by three attackers.
As for the rest, they were mbers of the Radiance Hundred Sequence, but they did not even have Diamond/Fantasy feys. They would be nothing more than sitting ducks if they took the role.
Just as Liu Yifan was about to take up the role himself, Lin yuan took a step forward and said, “I can be the general! As long as I have a breath left in , I will do all I can!”
Lin Yuan’s words pulled the attention of Liu Yifan and the other mbers of the Radiance Hundred Sequence to him.
Liu Yifan did not investigate the power of Black’s feys.
All he said was, “Do you know the risks of Capture the General? Once you’re out there, it will end with either both generals heavily injured or only one survivor. You won’t be able to concede then!”
