Heavenly Family Feys needed more than just spirit qi to evolve. They also needed energy from the natural world.
This was why Heavenly Family Feys were natural-type.
For example, once the Mother of Bloodbath evolved to the Sky Sundial Jade Spider, it would need to absorb energy from the sun.
Unlike the Sky Sundial Jade Spider, Gray needed to absorb the energy from various weather conditions.
The weather conditions could include clear weather, cloudy weather, rainy weather, snowy weather, and so on.
Gray would then need to absorb the weather into its cloud and produce a new ability.
This would allow Gray to create multiple new abilities.
There were also limitations to the abilities that could be created.
There would not be any new abilities when Gray evolved.
From True Data, Lin Yuan also knew that the created abilities could be strengthened continuously.
If Gray absorbed the sa type of weather more than once, the ability that ca from that type of weather would be strengthened.

Hence, Lin Yuan would not need to prepare a Willpower Rune for it.
Neither of the Willpower Runes available in Lin Yuan’s mind were suitable for Gray.
“Dad, I want to eat the fish you gave last ti.”
Gray looked rather bashful as it made its request, as though it felt embarrassed to be asking for food from Lin Yuan.
Lin Yuan hurriedly took out the fish from the amber-button-shaped fey storage box that he had prepared for Gray.

Since Gray had suddenly turned into a shell, Lin Yuan had stored the fish that Gray had not finished eating.

Lin Yuan laid out the 10 fish on the ground and said, “Gray, dig in. If they are not enough, there are still 20 more in the Diamond fey storage box. Now that you’re done transforming, your body has fully recovered, and you’ll be able to eat even tastier food. I’ll prepare new food for you over the next two
days.”
Gray replied obediently, “Thank you, Dad. I’m going to start eating!”

The cloud flew around the fish, and one of the fish soon disappeared.
