Chapter 110: Pregnancy?

Vineyard had not been waiting for her.

It stood where it had always stood, only now it looked less like sothing clinging to life and more like sothing that had decided it would survive whether anyone believed in it or not.

The walls were thicker. The paths were cleared. Guard posts sat at deliberate intervals instead of wherever soone had last panicked and stopped walking. Storage areas were labelled in chalk instead of guarded by hope.

Soone had started thinking long term.

Felicity noticed all of that in the way she noticed most things. Gently. Without turning it into a problem.

Then Rose took her hand and the rest of the world stopped mattering.

Warm. Solid. Real.

Felicity’s smile returned like it had never left. Bright and open, the kind that did not ask permission to exist.

Rose did not squeeze her hand like she was afraid Felicity would disappear. She held it like she had decided Felicity belonged beside her and that was the end of the discussion.

Felicity’s steps grew lighter without her aning them to she skipped once, just once.

A small lift of her heel that made the hem of her skirt flutter before settling again.

Rose saw it.

Rose said nothing.

Instead she looked past Felicity and began to assess the n walking behind them.

Damien she knew.

Victor she knew.

Voss she knew.

Tommy she knew well enough that she could predict when he was about to say sothing stupid and when he was about to pretend he hadn’t.

Sarge she knew too.

The rest she did not.

Her gaze moved across unfamiliar faces. A silver-haired man with the posture of soone who expected to be listened to. A younger one with sharp eyes that flicked constantly. A heavier one who moved like he carried weight even when he didn’t.

Others behind them too. n she had never t who still walked like apex.

Rose leaned slightly toward Felicity without breaking stride.

"Who are they," she asked loudly.

Felicity followed her gaze and brightened imdiately.

"Oh," she said. "They’re Snow Team."

Rose looked at her like she had two heads."That wasn’t what I asked."

Felicity blinked and then laughed softly.

"I know."

Rose’s eyes returned to the n.

"You’ve been busy."

Felicity’s smile turned sheepish but not apologetic.

"They helped."

Rose’s gaze slid to Damien’s tail as it moved slowly behind him "They still are."

Felicity nodded.

"Yes."

Rose let that sit.

She watched the unfamiliar n for another mont "Nas," she said.

Felicity turned her head, calling lightly without raising her voice "Ivan my husband."

The silver-haired man stepped closer imdiately, not crowding, simply present.

Rose watched him approach watched the way he carried himself.

Watched the way the others adjusted around him without thinking.

She did not offer a greeting.

"I’m Rose," she said.

Ivan inclined his head slightly.

"Ivan."

Rose nodded once and moved on without caring. "Legend," Felicity called next.

Another stepped forward. Taller, broader. The sort of man who looked like he had outgrown softness a long ti ago.

Rose looked him over too.

"Pope," Felicity said, pointing gently toward another.

"And Marx. And Sam."

She turned slightly to gesture toward the last two "Shadow. Draco."

Each acknowledged in turn.

Rose watched them all.

Then she looked back at Felicity.

"You collected," she said.

Felicity laughed "They ca with Snow Team."

Rose’s mouth twitched "And you let them stay."

Felicity’s smile softened "I wanted them to, they are family"

Rose studied her for a mont.

Then she nodded.

"Good."

Felicity blinked "Good?"

Rose’s tone stayed flat "I didn’t drag you back from death for you to keep pretending you don’t get to want things."

Felicity’s smile faltered just a fraction before returning "I wanted you too," she said.

Rose snorted.

"I know."

They continued walking.

People began to notice rose holding Felicity’s hand rose not walking with her own mates.

Rose not maintaining distance it shifted the air.

Felicity felt the looks but she didn’t shrink from them she held Rose’s hand tighter instead.

Rose felt that too, She did not comnt.

Instead she looked back at the unfamiliar n again "They look like they’re preparing for war," she murmured.

Felicity glanced behind them "They always are."

Rose’s brow lifted "And you."

Felicity smiled, bright and unbothered "I don’t think I need to be."

Rose watched her for a mont.

Not convinced.

But not dismissive either.

They passed a small group of Vineyard residents. One moved like they ant to greet Felicity, hand lifting casually toward her shoulder.

New Snow Team reacted imdiately bodies shifted.

The hand stopped midair Confusion replaced familiarity.

Rose noticed everything.

Her gaze slid toward the n again.

"Protective," she said.

Felicity nodded.

"They worry."

Rose’s tone sharpened "They don’t trust this place."

Felicity shook her head gently "They trust ."

Rose looked at her again.

Felicity t the look.

Smiling.

Rose exhaled slowly.

They turned down the next lane together, Rose still holding her hand, still evaluating every unfamiliar man who thought he had a place near her.

Because if they didn’t deserve it she would know, they did not get far before Rose said it.

Casually.

As if she were ntioning the weather "I’m pregnant."

Felicity stopped walking so suddenly Rose’s hand was yanked back, There was a beat where the words seed to hang in the air, as if Vineyard itself had paused to check whether it had heard correctly.

Then Felicity gasped.

A real gasp, bright and uncontained, the kind that ca from sowhere deep and untouched by fear.

Her hands flew to her mouth.

Her eyes widened "You’re—"

She didn’t finish the sentence because she was already moving.

She jumped actually jumped.

A small, delighted hop that made her almost trip over her own feet before she threw her arms around Rose and squeezed with all the strength her smaller fra could muster.

"You’re pregnant!"

Her voice carried not loudly, but enough, enough that the n behind them heard.

Enough that Vineyard heard.

Rose made a noise that might have been a complaint if she wasn’t already steadying Felicity with one arm so she didn’t topple backwards.

"Yes," Rose said dryly. "That’s usually how this works."

Felicity pulled back only long enough to look at her properly, her eyes were shining.

Actuallyshining "When?" she asked, breathless.

Rose shrugged "A while ago."

Felicity’s excitent didn’t dim "How did you know?"

Rose blinked "I’m not an idiot."

Felicity laughed, delighted behind them, the new mbers of Snow Team were not laughing.

They had not expected this, they had expected reunion, tension, perhaps politics, they had not expected this bright explosion of happiness that felt... dostic.

Victor sighed softly, it was resignation.

Felicity was about to ask questions many questions "Was it your heat?" Felicity asked imdiately.

There it was.

Several of the n behind them stilled.

The word landed differently to those who were still adjusting to the reality of what they had beco.

Heat.

It was no longer taphor.

Rose did not lower her voice "Yes."

She said it simply.

Felicity blinked "You blood?"

Rose snorted.

"That’s one way to put it, but it was worse, overwhelming."

Felicity leaned closer, fascinated "What was it like?"

Rose looked at her like she had asked what drowning felt like "I was insane," Rose said.

Felicity’s brows lifted "In a good way?"

Rose huffed "In a way that nearly got

into trouble."

She didn’t elaborate right away.

She didn’t need to.

The implication was already spreading through the space between them.

Felicity tilted her head "How?"

Rose’s mouth twitched "I was so worked up I nearly took two guards to bed before I ca to my senses."

That did it.

Several of the new Snow Team mbers visibly froze.

Behind them, Damien’s tail stilled completely.

Victor’s wings shifted once before settling again.

Ivan’s expression did not change, but his breathing did.

Felicity stared "You did not."

Rose raised a brow "I absolutely did."

Felicity clapped a hand over her mouth, eyes wide with horrified delight "That’s terrible."

Rose shrugged "It’s biology."

Felicity laughed again, softer this ti "I can’t believe you."

Rose leaned slightly closer "You will," she said.

Felicity blinked.

Rose’s tone didn’t change.

"You’re due soon."

That landed differently.

Behind them, the shift was imdiate.

Damien’s jaw tightened.

Victor’s gaze flicked toward Felicity and stayed there.

Ivan’s hand curled slightly at his side.

Felicity blinked again.

"I’m not," she said automatically.

Rose’s eyes were steady.

"You willbe."

Felicity looked away briefly, processing, then back again with a thoughtful little hum, behind them, the new n were learning fast.

Learning what heat ant.

Learning what blooming ant.

Learning that Felicity was not simply soone to protect.

She was soone who would trigger biological realities they had not yet fully faced.

Felicity squeezed Rose’s hand again, softer now.

"I’m really happy for you."

Rose nodded once "I know."

They resud walking.

Felicity’s gaze drifted ahead and then suddenly lit up.

"Oh!"

She slipped her hand free before Rose could stop her and darted forward toward a familiar face.

"Lena!"

The woman turned, startled, and then her eyes widened in recognition.

Felicity reached her in seconds, throwing her arms around her in a quick, delighted hug.

"I thought you were gone," Lena said.

"I thought you were too," Felicity replied.

Behind them, Snow Team braced.

Victor sighed again.

Not because Felicity was greeting soone because she had run, into open space, alone.

Instinct, fear all collided at once.

But Felicity only laughed softly and pulled back, speaking warmly, asking quick questions, catching up in seconds like ti hadn’t fractured.

The people she greeted lit up in return, they rembered her.

Not as a symbol.

When she returned to Rose’s side, still smiling, still warm, Rose looked at her for a long mont.

"You left as sothing fragile," Rose said quietly.

Felicity tilted her head.

Rose’s gaze shifted to the n.

To the way they watched.

To the way Vineyard watched.

"You ca back as sothing everyone willorbit."
