The scent of heather perated the cave, faint but laced with a peculiar, arousing fragrance.
The clamor that had filled the air gradually faded. An Jin dressed herself and got up, intending to give him so ti to recover.
To let him process the imnse crash from that montary bliss.
"Ah Jin..."
Seeing that she was about to leave, he hurriedly grabbed her hand. His voice was delicate and soft, yet held a hoarse, suppressed quality.
Xi pulled her into his arms, enveloping her completely. He rested his sharp chin in the crook of her neck, nuzzling against her. "I like Ah Jin so much..."
"So, does it still hurt now?" She took a deep breath to steady her breathing, then reached out to stroke the reddened corners of his eyes, her gaze falling on the wounds on his body.
"Mmm~ It doesn’t hurt anymore. Nothing hurts at all." He took her hand and pressed it to his cheek, rubbing against it. "Ah Jin is so good to ..."
He smiled, completely sated. He grew even more attached to her body and her scent, resting his head below her collarbone and ssing up the clothes she had just straightened.
’No wonder those other male rfolk couldn’t wait to find a female as soon as they ca of age. So this is what it’s like to be with a female... it’s wonderful. Now that I’ve had a taste, I want more...’
His fishtail twitched upward, the fins of his azure tail tinged with a shy pink.
An Jin glanced at him, then placed her foot on his restless tail, pinning it down.
She pinched his flushed cheek and chided, "You’re a patient. You shouldn’t engage in any strenuous activity. You need more rest."
Staring at the slender fingers dangling before him, his Adam’s apple bobbed. He couldn’t help but lean forward, part his lips, and gently take her finger into his mouth. "But Xi still wants more..."
The wet, barbed tip of his tongue lightly grazed her finger.
A tingling electric shock shot up An Jin’s spine.
’This is bad!’ she thought, and subconsciously pushed back. Xi fell limply against the wall, his ssy blue hair sticking to his flushed, beautiful cheeks as he stared at her with misty, infatuated eyes.
An Jin moved off him.
She made a surprising discovery.
This was the first ti she had co away relatively unscathed... while the Little rfolk, by contrast, was left half-leaning against the wall, looking completely dazed with passion, the corners of his eyes red, his body sore and weak...
’Thinking back, not much ti had passed. Half an hour at most, right?’
"You can’t last very long, can you?"
Seeing him so lost in a daze of passion, a wicked thought popped into An Jin’s head, and she couldn’t resist taking a jab at him.
The Little rfolk froze completely. He stared at her, his eyes wide with astonishnt and on the verge of tears. The blush instantly drained from his face, replaced by a look of sha and anger. "Th-that’s not true!"
He scrambled to get up from the wall, but the fair, slender legs he’d transford into were weak and trembling. Neither his feeble tone nor his shaky movents did anything to support his denial.
"I’m just injured, that’s why..." His face flushed red again. He stole a shy glance at her and bit his lip. "Besides, it’s my first ti... being in heat. I’m not very experienced..."
’His first mating, and he couldn’t even satisfy Ah Jin. He was such a failure, an absolute failure. His entire life as a rman was now stained.’
’Would Ah Jin start to dislike him because of this?’
’Xi was devastated. Those other two were already stronger than him. If he couldn’t even co out on top when it ca to pleasing her with his body, then he had no hope of winning her favor.’
The Little rfolk, who had just been experiencing ecstasy, quickly sank into despair.
"Don’t be sad, I was just teasing you." ’Every species is different when it cos to ti. She’d kept fish before; for them, it was over in a flash. This was actually a little longer than she’d expected.’
She leaned in and whispered four words in his ear.
"Really?" Xi’s heart began to pound, and a blush quickly spread across his face.
"Mhm." Her fingers gently brushed across his chest, where a few faint red scratch marks remained.
Thinking back on the scene, the tips of her own ears couldn’t help but burn. She tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear and turned her head slightly to look toward the cave entrance. "There’s sothing else I need to confirm."
"What is it?" As strength gradually returned to his legs, Xi walked with so difficulty to her side, turning his head to look at her slightly serious profile.
"Don’t you find it strange? Why did that rman try to capture ? He even said he was going to offer to so ’master.’ At first, I thought he was sent by that man in black from before, but then... I saw sothing on him."
As she spoke, she changed the subject, turning to look at him with a hint of concern:
"Are your injuries any better now? Can you swim properly?"
After getting an affirmative answer, An Jin said, "Then we need to go back to where we were before. I have to look for so clues."
Xi nodded, his eyes curving into a smile. "Okay, I’ll do whatever Ah Jin says." He walked a few steps forward, extended a sharp nail, and popped the bubble that was holding back the seawater at the cave’s entrance.
A torrent of seawater instantly filled the cave.
Xi’s legs instantly transford back into a long, powerful blue fishtail. He quickly swam to An Jin, who was floating in the water, and reached out to wrap an arm around her waist to swim with her.
But she shook her head, pressing her fingers against his firm chest. "I want to swim by myself."
Xi was a little worried. His cool, slender, webbed fingers rested on her waist, and he was reluctant to let go.
"Don’t worry. Your Shark Pearl is inside , so I won’t drown. Besides, I already have experience with diving." ’Gazing out at the magnificent, beautiful deep sea, she truly wanted to swim freely, just like a real fish.’
"You lead the way, and I’ll follow right behind you." An Jin found a few tough strands of seaweed nearby, tied them together end-to-end, and fashioned a rope several ters long. Then she tied it to both of their wrists. "See? This way, I won’t get swept away by the current!"
"Alright." Only then did Xi relax. ’Although he desperately wanted to be close to his Ah Jin again, he respected her decision.’
Sniffing the faint scent of blood in the water, Xi narrowed his eyes. He looked straight ahead toward the forest of reefs, following his mory back to the site of the battle.
With their wrists bound by the seaweed, An Jin agilely moved her body and limbs, following Xi’s lead. She already had diving experience, and after being fused with the Shark Pearl for so long, her body felt as light and nimble as a real fish’s every ti she entered the water.
And since Xi was intentionally slowing down, she was surprisingly able to keep pace. Relative to each other, they were almost perfectly still.
Schools of magnificent, beautiful fish drifted past her, but An Jin had no mind to admire them. Her gaze was fixed steadily on the rman before her.
It was a look of endless admiration and wonder for the world’s most beautiful creature.
rfolk were already stunningly beautiful, with graceful, flowing body lines. His waterfall of blue hair seed to catch faint glimrs of light in the dark depths of the sea. Since she was so close, a few strands would occasionally drift across her face, tickling her slightly.
Even with his back to her, An Jin could see the sexy curve of his beautiful shoulder blades as they rose and fell with his movents. The deep arch of his lower back was smooth and sleek, and a slight sway of his narrow hips was enough to propel his long fishtail forward hundreds of ters in an instant.
He was so beautiful it was breathtaking.
