Lin Xixue sneered, her hand going to her round belly. She gave him a cold look and threatened cruelly, "Song Ke, I’m carrying your cub. If you dare betray , you can forget about ever seeing it!"
The color drained from Song Ke’s face. His jaw tightened, and the fists at his sides clenched so hard that veins bulged on them.

"Alright." Song Yi gave her a grateful look. After filling two large bowls, he vanished from sight.
When the food distribution was over, the once-crowded plaza gradually emptied out.
An Jin helped the remaining Beastn clean up the pots and bowls. Just as she was about to leave, she caught a glimpse of Chi Li out of the corner of her eye, leaning against a nearby wall.
He had produced a large Conch Shell from sowhere.
The Conch Shell was a shimring bluish-purple, with arcane, crimson-gold patterns winding across its surface. It was sacred, elegant, and incredibly eye-catching.
"A massive Demon Beast horde has appeared in the Southwest Mountain Area. Get over here, quick. The Beastn here need your protection." His fingertips traced a few patterns in the air above the Conch Shell, and he then lowered his head to speak into it.
A faint, shimring purple light coiled around the Conch Shell for a mont before vanishing.
"Didn’t you want Blood Crystals? This guy has plenty of them, so you can just ask him for so later." Seeing An Jin draw near curiously, Chi Li gave a mysterious smile and casually handed her the Conch Shell to examine.
"The way you say that makes it sound like Blood Crystals are easy to co by."
An Jin was speechless. She stroked the smooth, cool Conch Shell, a slight tingling sensation spreading through her fingertip as she brushed it over the mysterious patterns. "Speaking of which, can this Conch Shell really let soone far away hear you?"
’She could tell the Conch Shell was a communication tool, but how could sothing that, at best, was just a pretty shell possibly break the laws of physics and transmit a ssage over such a great distance?’

Chi Li clearly couldn’t be bothered to explain the overly obscure and complex principles of Rune Arrays and spiritual power, so he simply brushed the topic aside.
All it did was leave An Jin to her endless imagination, contemplating this magical world that had only just revealed the tip of its iceberg.
