"We heard your tribe’s Clan Leader can remove these Poison Needles!"
One of the long-ard apes was among the group of Beastn who had attacked Hu Che previously.
He glanced at the fully recovered Hu Che in the crowd, and a spark of hope reignited in his murky brown eyes.
’News sure travels fast in the Beast World.’
An Jin didn’t deny it. Instead, she lifted her light brown eyes and looked coolly and rationally at the oldest, most imposing long-ard ape. "I can remove the Poison Needles from Beastn, but why should I help you?"
"If I’m not mistaken, you got those Poison Needles on you while trying to attack our tribe, but your plan backfired and you ended up hitting yourselves, didn’t you?"
Their intentions exposed, the expressions on the long-ard ape Beastn’s faces turned grim and conflicted.
They exchanged glances, rendered speechless, and cast a terrified look at the Snake Beast behind the female.
As if on cue, the Snake Beast lazily turned his red eyes to et theirs. His thin lips curled into a cold smirk as his taut, black-and-red tail slapped the ground behind him in a clear show of force.
With a few THUDS, several of the ape beastn collapsed in fright, yelping and crying out.
Their bodies trembled, and their faces were as pale as death.
"..." An Jin didn’t understand why the long-ard apes were reacting so strongly.
She followed their gaze to Gu Yin behind her. Recalling his frequent disappearances over the last two days, she started to piece together the reason.
The beastn fud. These disgusting monkeys had used Painful Bees to ambush the tribe, and now that they’d been caught in their own trap, they actually dared to co to them for help—how shaless!
The Beastn shifted into their fierce, powerful beast forms, ready to take a few chunks out of these shaless monkeys and drive them from the tribe.
But to their surprise, An Jin’s reaction was unexpectedly calm. She waved a hand to stop the agitated Beastn, then turned to the long-ard ape Beastn with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes.
"I can help treat your Beastn."
The female’s voice was gentle and lovely, soft as a cloud or a flower petal, and a pleasure to listen to.
The long-ard apes were overjoyed.
The tribe’s Beastn, however, looked at the female in confusion. But since it was the Clan Leader’s decision, they would support it unconditionally.
"But I have my conditions," An Jin said.
...
The long-ard ape Beastn, who were covered in Poison Needles, were carried into a vacant hut. An Jin dismissed those who weren’t essential, sending them off to prepare the ’conditions’ she required.
’It was true that these long-ard ape Beastn had ambushed the tribe. Their dispositions were also greedier and more cunning than those of ordinary Beastn, making them poor candidates for burying the hatchet. But she could also see how desperately they craved her help. Beastn were, by nature, more primal and straightforward. They wore their hearts on their sleeves, attacking tribes they disliked and showing imnse gratitude to those who helped them. At her core, An Jin was a true child of Huaxia. When reconciliation was possible, she would always favor peaceful diplomacy over military conquest. The Long-ard Ape Tribe was large and located very close to her own. If the two tribes beca enemies over this, it would be a major obstacle to her tribe’s future developnt. If the two tribes could forge a friendly diplomatic relationship, it would be a great help for their mutual developnt, for defending against beast tides, and for surviving natural disasters in this harsh environnt. If there was any chance of peaceful coexistence, An Jin was willing to try for it. Of course, that was all assuming the Long-ard Ape Tribe didn’t betray her goodwill. If they resorted to such insidious sches again and forced the two tribes into a conflict, she would be more ruthless than anyone.’
Over the next few days, An Jin went to great lengths to remove the Poison Needles and treat the injuries of the long-ard apes.
During their recovery, they were given the sa food and care as any ordinary Beastman in her tribe.
"This Clan Leader is so kind, and this tribe is so welcoming..."
The long-ard apes touched their wounds, most of which were already close to healing. A bittersweet feeling welled up inside them.
They felt an imnse sense of regret for their earlier, despicable ambush.
’If not for this tribe, they might have been paralyzed by now, just a bunch of pitiful, crippled monkeys.’
During their treatnt, the Beastn needed high-protein food to encourage cell regeneration and speed up their bodies’ healing process.
So, An Jin would cook them a large pot of at and vegetable soup.
The Long-ard Ape Tribe sent so Beastn to bring their injured mbers ho. Following the enticing aroma, they arrived at the hut. Their eyes fixed on the large pot of fragrant at soup steaming by the entrance, and they couldn’t help but swallow hard.
