"What would you love to eat?" He asked, standing a few feet from the bed.

"Anything you have, I’m just very hungry." She answered, yawning.

"I have sothing right here. If you like sausages at least." He teased again, wiggling his carved eye brows.

"You never stop do you?" She said chuckling. "So long as it’s chewable, I’m for it." She let a smirk grace her lips, while she looked him dead in the eye.

"Well, it’s not exactly chewable, but it’s got ice cream in it, that’s if you suck on it properly." He said shrugging, trying to hold back the laughter that tried to break through his lips.

"Well, that’s sad, Theodore. I’m only up for chewable sausages and sugary ice creams! Not salty ones, you goat!"

"Goat?!" He asked, looking at her in disbelief. "You couldn’t call any other na but goat. That hurts. And my ice cream isn’t salty!" He whined.

"It is salty and I’m about to call you a chicken, if you don’t get so fucking food." She barked, wondering why he was stalling.

"Fine." He said turning to head to the door, before turning around again, causing her to groan.

"Theodore, I swear to God-"

"I don’t know how to cook." He said cutting short her string of curses and in seconds, Bethany broke out into a long fit of laughter, her head falling backwards.

"It’s not funny." Theo said going back to stand by the mirror.

"Oh trust , it is. How do you survive as a bachelor then? You live on takeouts?" She asked when she was done laughing.

"I go to Troy’s so tis, but there are other restaurants I frequent." He said, turning to her.

"Hmmm, well I guess we’d have to settle for takeouts then, I’m not sure I’m in the mood to cook right now." She chid.

"Well, we could do that, or we could go to a spot not too far from here. Maybe when we’re done eating, we could stroll for a while. There are so many places I have to show you." He offered. "We can still order so food, then go out later, after eating." He added.

"I think we should go to your spot. It’s better. I could use so fresh air and space from testosterone." She teased, after thinking for a few seconds.

"Oh please. I’m going to be with you the whole ti. Can’t have your ass absconding."

"Absconding? I don’t even know this place. Don’t worry, I’d stick to you." She said smiling. "Until I figure out this city, of course." She added, winking at Theo whose expression was switching to a horrified one.

"I’m joking, Dummy." She said causing him to release a breath he didn’t know he was holding.

"You better." He said getting himself.

"Alright, you can leave. I need to shower." She said shooing him away, trying to get out of bed.

"No!" Theo exclaid, dashing to her front, his two arms stretched sideways, blocking her. Images of how he found her sitting by the tub in water flashed continuously in his mind.

"Uhh.. it’s just a shower, Theo. I’m not soaking in a tub or sothing. I’d be fast I promise." She tried to explain, while trying to understand while he was acting the way he was.

Theo sighed, letting his arms drop to his sides, his shoulders slouching. He realized he had just overreacted.

"Look. When I picked you, you were sitting by the tub, that was overflowing with water, which thankfully was warm, and you were half conscious, Beth. I panicked. I was so scared. And now that you ntioned shower, I couldn’t help but beco afraid again." He explained.

Bethany looked into his eyes, her expression solemn, even though she felt really mushy on the inside.

"I’m so sorry you had to feel that way. When it happened, I was sitting on the floor, beside the tub. I couldn’t muster the strength to stand up so I sat there. I didn’t know when I passed out. It wasn’t Troy’s fault." Beth pacified, holding his eyes with hers, so he could see that he had no reason to be traumatized.

"Okay." He said , softly, breaking the gaze. "You can go shower, I’d place sothing for you to wear on the bed."

"Alright, then." She said in a lighter tone. "See you in a bit."

Giving her a slight nod, he left the room, shutting the door quietly behind him.

Bethany released a breath she didn’t know she was holding when she heard the door shut behind him.

She let her body fall back to the bed, letting her stare into the ceiling.

She thought back to the drama that had transpired between she and Troy at his house. How the air between them had been alternating from the mont they t that morning.

She hadn’t thought she was going to pass out on that tub, honestly she hadn’t thought about anything, except how Troy had looked at her while he scolded her, without recognition. How dark he looked and how much pain radiated from him.

’Bethany, that wasn’t him. That was just all he was feeling.’ Maria tried to pacify her.

’It was so much, M. You saw it.’

’I did. And I know you wouldn’t be forgetting about it anyti soon, but if anything, it should motivate you to wait for them. I think whatever they went through was fucking dark, but you are the light for them. Don’t let those thoughts get to you. We all go through things, let them be ready to talk to you about it. Don’t push them, not even with your thoughts.’ Maria admonished, even the was feeling just as much pain as Beth was.

Sighing, Beth shut her eyes, swallowing the lump that had ford in her throat.

I have to be strong for them, no matter what.

Taking a deep breath, she sat up in the bed, untangling the rest of her body from the duvets. When she was done, she got up from the bed, stretching before making her way to his massive bathroom.

It was high ti she enjoyed her mini vacation.
