*~Leon’s POV~*

"No," I stretched my hands. "You must be lying. You’re lying. You’re doing all of this just to stop . Aurora cannot leave permanently."

"She can, and she has. That is it. She has gone. Leon, I would advise you, as a mother—because I can give birth to you—to leave her. I can support you in leaving your marriage with Sophia, and you can go find another person that you love and take care of. But as for Aurora, Aurora is gone."

"No!" I held back. "If anybody’s gone, it should be , not her."

"The council had no problem with you, but with Aurora, a whole demon ca to cosplay as her. Her still here is traumatizing the pack. Her presence is too powerful. The council have decided to let her go, and we have nothing to do with that. Leon, go find another woman."

"There is only one Aurora," I said. "And if I can’t have that one Aurora, then I will not have anyone."

"So you want to remain a bachelor forever? But as the Beta of this pack, you need to provide, and—"

"Hey, I don’t give a fuck about being the Beta," I fired. "I don’t give a bloody damn. If you think I give more than two fucks about being the Beta, do you think I would have escaped with Aurora?" I said, and while Lilith just stared at .

"No! I don’t! And I’m just begging you. I’m begging every single one of you. Just let Aurora leave," I said, tears starting to pour. Tears starting to pour from her eyes, while Lilith just looked at with pity.

"I’m sorry, Leon. My granddaughter needs to sleep."

She turned, taking Heather to her room, while I just stood there in the middle of the hallway.

They said Aurora is in Hazel’s chamber. I tried going, but everyone would be there, and it would be wrong for to go there right now.

"Dammit, what should I do? Who can help currently?"

I twisted my knuckles, clinking hard.

Who can help right now?

But every single person here can’t.

Then sothing caught my eye. I saw a black cat jumping in from the window.

Oh my God.

"Kovu," I imdiately rushed towards him. As then, he gritted his teeth at . He has still not gotten over his thing for .

"Kovu, I’m actually—for the first ti—I’m actually glad you’re here. I an, the second. You know, the first is when you saved and Aurora from those demons. Well, the thing is that Aurora is going to be getting back her mory. I don’t know where Aurora is currently, but I trust you to guide her to . Let Aurora co to ."

The cat just stared at while I ran my mouth with no control... I’m not even sure this is kovu, but judging by the way it stared at like it was understanding... Yes definitely.

Then he rubbed the cat’s back, and the cat jumped right into action, going to find Aurora.

Then Leon started thinking if truly Aurora will accept... It was Eric that loved him and accepted him, but Aurora?

*..... Aurora’s POV...*

Leon?

My head ached badly as my eyes struggled to flutter open. My heart was pounding in my chest. And then, I realized I was in a familiar place as my nerves cald down a bit. I gazed around to see where I was, but the room was looking a little bit too scary, but still familiar.

This is my chambers back in New Orleans.

What am I doing here in New Orleans?

I imdiately stood up.

How do I even know the aning of New Orleans? Have I gotten my mories back?

An outstanding headache flushed through my head as I gripped my forehead, managing the pain. I let out a sigh in pain as I imdiately stood up and rushed to the mirror.

My hair was still short. I was still dressed in a man’s clothes, but they had removed every iron rod that made my body built like a masculine man.

I was back at ho, and my mories are back.

The pain imdiately started returning to . My chest was tightening. The image of Darius flashed in my mind. The image of Leon. The image of my sister. Everybody was flashing in my head.

No, no, no, no. This is bad. Why now? Why?

I bit my tongue from yelling. And then, I turned to see the door open, and Hazel entered.

The minute she entered and saw that I was awake, she imdiately entered and locked the door behind her.

"Aurora, you are awake."

She was coming near , but I stretched my hands.

"Who brought here? What am I doing here?" I said, and Hazel looked around.

"You are back at ho, Aurora. We are finally free from those demons, and you are back ho. Are you not happy?"

"Happy?" I said. "Who brought back?" I asked.

"Caspian did."

"Why? Did I not tell him I don’t want to co back ho? I don’t want to co ho."

I knelt on the ground.

"This is not even my ho."

"Yes... yes." Hazel’s face was teary. "I know this is not your ho. And you will soon be going ho," she said, and I looked at her in confusion.

"What?"

"The council have decided you should no longer be staying here. Natasha and her daughter have had sothing to do with it, with bribing the elders with their bodies. Every council elder voted you out. and Caspian tried to stop it as the Alpha, but us taking your side ans we are forcing you on their mouth. It ans we are taking sides, and I am very comfortable with taking your side, but they suggested you be happy with living here, and which you are. You don’t even want to be here," Hazel said, looking at with pain in her eyes.

I was too even weak to consider her emotion. I had to put myself first.

"Yes, I don’t want to be here, Hazel. I don’t even want to be myself. I was comfortable with where I was."

"You were comfortable being a man?" She looked at confused. "You were wearing a man’s clothes. You cut off your hair. Aurora, that is not what comfortable ans."

"You don’t get to tell what being comfortable ans," I fired back at her. "My life was finally normal. I was happy."

Tears blurred from my eyes as I could not control myself from crying.

"I was beautifully living my life. But all of you ruined it," I said, and pain flashed in her eyes as she seed taken aback.

"You were in a pack that does not accept witches. One mistake from you that makes them find out you are a witch... you are gone."

"I had it under control," I said, my eyes blazing.

"No, you did not. They almost figured out you were a witch when Caspian ca to save you. That was what he said. You did not have it under control but rather your identity was a ticking ti bomb that would soon be revealed. Aurora, I know you are feeling sad right now but the best thing is for you to have your mories and start a new life. You need to know who you are before you find what you want. You want peace, but that masculine version of yourself won’t help you find that," she said.

Although I find the sense in what she was saying, I don’t have the ti to process it right now.

"I already need so ti alone," I said, and she nodded.

"I will give you every ti you need."

She went out of the door and then closed the door behind her, and then I turned to the mirror, gazing back at myself.

She was right, this is not who I am. Cutting off my hair, wearing n’s clothing, this is not my identity. And what she said repeated in my head:

You need to rember who you are before you find what you want.

I took that advice in, my heart swelling in my chest, and then I heard a sound coming from my door. I turned to see a cat entering, and I jumped.

"What is this doing here?"

Then I looked at it closely, then I noticed it was Kovu.

"Kovu!"

I rushed towards it, and I hugged it tight as it licked . It purred, and then I checked its body, if it was hard or anything.

It found . It ca to New Orleans with .

"Oh my God! Aren’t you a darling?" I said, hugging it again, unable to believe that I— that my one and only pet followed .

And then, it started purring loudly, like it wanted to tell sothing. What was it trying to say?

I tightened my coat.

"What was it trying to say? What is it, Kovu? Are you hurt?" I asked, but it just kept purring.

Then it jumped out of my hands and rushed to the door.

"Do you want to go?" I asked.

Then he rushed back at and bit my clothes, then started dragging .

What is he trying to say?
