*~Cyrius’s POV~*

I dived out of the room, my heart pounding so hard it drowned out every other sound. My feet slamd down the staircase, barely touching each step before I hit the floor below. "Alex! Sobody! Anybody!" I shouted, voice echoing off the walls. "Help!"

But there was no answer. No movent. The entire house was silent..eerily still, like every living thing had been sucked out of it.

"Oh, shit," I muttered, spinning around. "What’s going to beco of now?"

And then she appeared.

A few feet away, naked, her breasts staring at hungrily.

Her smirk was pure sin. "Why are you running, Cyrius?" she purred, her tone teasing and cold. "You can’t run faster than Nature. Just co. Let’s settle this like adults."

"Fuck you!" I barked, stumbling backward as she reached for my hand. I shoved her hard, my palms burning from the contact.

She laughed beautifully, like it was all a joke. I turned and bolted for the door. But before I could reach it, her fingers closed around my arm, nails digging into my skin.

"If you leave this house," she hissed, "you will never see again."

"And that’s exactly what I want."

My fist connected with her face before I could think. She fell back with a grunt, and the world around glitched—the walls flickering, lting, reforming. I stumbled, dizzy. The air shimred, and then—

Everything went black.

When I opened my eyes again, I was on the ground, gasping like I’d just clawed my way out of the ocean. Hands gripped mine—strong, warm, real.

"Cyrius! Are you alright?" It was Cayden’s voice.

I blinked, the world coming back in pieces—faces, lights, the scent of pine and blood. Cayden and Caspian were kneeling beside .

I sat up so fast it made dizzy. "Hazel," I croaked. "Where’s Hazel?"

"Calm down," Cayden said quickly. "What’s happening to you?"

I turned and saw Aurora, Lilith, my brothers, and Marcus, all gathered around the twins, who were lying on the floor, unconscious.

And then Aurora scread, "Oh my God—the babies!" She bent down, trembling. "They’re awake!"

The twins’ wails filled the air, sharp and haunting. I pressed a hand to my chest, trying to steady my breathing. "What just happened?" I rasped. "What the hell just happened?"

Caspian crouched beside . "You broke out of the illusion, didn’t you? What did you see?"

"Nature," I said, my voice rough. "Nature tried to test ."

Cayden and Caspian exchanged a look. "A test?"

"Yes. It used Hazel." I swallowed hard. "But I won. I didn’t fall for it. I didn’t give in to the lust. That ans..."

Lilith turned toward Caspian, her face pale. "That ans he must be going through their tests right now too."

Caspian’s jaw clenched. "And what happens if he don’t win his tests?"

Lilith hesitated. "I don’t know. But I think... Nature takes the soul. Along with the vampires."

"What?" Aurora gasped, clutching the babies tighter.

"We need to get out of here," Cayden said, his voice rising. "This place, it’s not safe. The babies."

"But Marcus hasn’t woken up yet," Lilith interrupted. "He’s still trapped in it."

Caspian sneered. "Then maybe the bastard’s failing. Let him die for all I care."

"No!" Lilith snapped, spinning on him. "We can’t leave him. Not like this. He’s going to make it. I know he is." She knelt beside Marcus, shaking him gently. "Marcus! It’s just a test. Wake up!"

His body trembled, muscles twitching like he was fighting sothing none of us could see. His breathing ca in ragged bursts.

Lilith’s voice cracked. "Wake up, Marcus, please!"

Cayden’s hand closed around mine, tight and urgent, a twin crying against his shoulder. Caspian held the other. "We need to go, Cyrius," he said. "Now."

"I can’t," I muttered. "Not without him."

"We just have enough ti yet," Lilith said, her voice trembling. "They didn’t draw data. Well... I don’t see a ticking ti bomb around here. We can just wait. I’m sure he’s going to win. I’m sure he’s going to co back to us."

"The test isn’t a joke," I said quietly. "I almost failed. I was tested with Hazel—my biggest weakness. Who knows if he’s being tested with you—"

"Maybe he is," Aurora interrupted softly, completing my thought. "Maybe he’s being tested with you, Lilith. Maybe that’s what’s happening. Maybe he’s falling for it right now. The love you two share... it could be the trap."

Cayden folded his arms, expression cold. "Or maybe Cyrius was just lucky. Either way, it’s more reason for us to leave. We’ve wasted enough ti."

"I cannot leave my husband here!" Lilith’s voice cracked, full of despair.

Cayden’s tone hardened instantly. "They were going to leave you behind, rember?"

Lilith glared at him. "Why are you so heartless? This is your babies’ grandfather!"

"Silence," Cayden snapped. "This sa man tried to murder my babies. The sa man who tried to trade —and them—for power. The sa man who tortured my wife from the day she was born. And you expect to give him a second chance? Are you out of your mind?"

"Then fight back!" Lilith shouted, her voice shaking. "If you’re not staying, then leave! I am going to stay with him."

"Really?" Cayden smirked, dark energy flickering under his skin. "Fine." He turned toward and the others. "Cyrius, Caspian, Aurora—let’s go."

"No," I said sharply. "We can’t leave her behind. What is Hazel going to see when she wakes up? She’s going to lose both her parents at once. She already grew up without them—she can’t survive losing them again."

"I’m sure these two barely count as parents," Cayden snarled.

"Watch your tongue," Lilith hissed, stepping forward. Her eyes glowed faintly. "I don’t care if you’re my grandchildren’s father or my daughter’s mate—I will put you down if I have to."

"Oh, I’d love to see you try," Cayden growled, veins darkening along his arms, shadows crawling up his skin.

"That’s the only thing that makes you scary?" Lilith scoffed. "You think I’ll bow to that? I made you who you are, boy."

Cayden’s lips curled into a dangerous grin. "And I’ll destroy the one who made ."

"Enough!" Caspian barked, stepping between them, his voice slicing through the tension. "This isn’t the ti. Can’t you two put your damn fight aside?!" He turned toward Marcus’s body, still motionless on the glowing floor. "Just carry him. Let’s get out of here."

Lilith shook her head violently. "No! We can’t take him away from this holy ground. If we do—and he is in a test—he’ll automaticallyfail. And then he’ll die. You hear ? He’ll die!"

Cayden threw his hands up. "Maybe that’s the price to pay! He’s just as guilty as Dahlia! Why are we acting like this man deserves saving?"

"No!" Lilith yelled. "It is not over without him."

"We’ve already won!" Aurora said, stepping beside him, her voice strained but firm. "Lilith... the triplets are back. Nature accepted our sacrifice. The babies are alive. Hazel is alive. What more do we owe him?"

Lilith’s voice broke. "But my husband..." She dropped to her knees beside Marcus, her hands trembling as she brushed a strand of hair from his face. "We just reconciled. I just got him back. I can’t leave him again. I can’t."

"Then stay with him," Cayden said, his voice low, calm, and cold. "We’re not forcing you to follow us. But rember—Hazel will need her parents."

He turned away, eyes dark and unreadable, and tapped Caspian on the shoulder. "Let’s go."

Caspian nodded once, and Aurora moved to guide us toward the grounds exit. I lingered behind, my heart twisting as I watched Lilith sink beside Marcus’s still body.

"Please... wake up," she whispered, her fingers brushing his face. Her voice cracked under the weight of her tears.

I stood frozen, torn between following my brothers and staying with her. My heartbeat thudded in my ears, heavy and conflicted. These were Hazel’s parents—both of them. Whatever they had done, she still loved them. She still needed them. She needs to experience parenthood.

"Please don’t leave yet," Lilith sobbed. "Don’t close this ground. I can’t leave without Marcus. I just got him back."

Her tears splashed onto his chest, shimring faintly as they sank into his skin.

I knelt beside her, gripping her trembling shoulders. "I’m sorry, Lilith... but we have to go. He’s not going to make it." My voice shook despite my resolve. "He’s going to fail the test. I know what I saw—it wasn’t strength that saved . It was luck. And not everyone is lucky."

I swallowed hard, forcing the next words out even though they hurt. "Maybe this man has to pay the price for his sins. He’s done too many horrible things. Maybe... karma’s finally caught up with him."

Lilith’s breath hitched. She stared at , eyes wide, lips trembling, but no sound ca out. She just held Marcus tighter, her tears falling faster, heavier.

Then, with a broken cry, she threw her head back and scread—a sound so raw it tore through the air like thunder.

"Marcus! Wake up!"

Her voice echoed through the grounds, shaking the walls. I could barely stand it. My chest felt tight, my throat burning.

When she didn’t stop, I stepped forward, wrapping my arms around her. "Co on," I whispered. "We have to go."

"No!" she fought weakly, hitting my chest. "Marcus, please wake up! Marcus, we just t again. Rember what we said—we promised we’d fight for forgiveness together. We promised we’d experience parenthood again... with our grandchildren. Rember every promise. Rember !"
