*~ Hazel’s POV~*

Finally, Mom and Dad were still upstairs, doing whatever romance they were doing. The door opened and Mother ca out first, descending the stairs with a calm expression while we peeked behind her. But Father wasn’t behind her.

"Where is Marcus?" I asked.

"He’s upstairs," she said softly, carefully taking Heather from my arms as if nothing had happened.

We all turned to Klaus. He nodded and went upstairs to check on Marcus.

"So... how is it?" Alice asked suddenly, leaving completely clueless.

"What do you an?" I frowned.

"You just talked with Marcus."

"Yes," I said. "We caught up."

"Hazel, I think he’s ready now," Lilith said firmly. "We should take him to where the vampires are so he can control them. We don’t have much ti left."

Aurora supported her. "We can’t delay."

I shook my head. "No. We’re not going today. He just transford. He needs to rest."

"Hazel, we don’t have much ti left," Aurora insisted. "You don’t know what danger the triplets are in."

"Trust ," I said, steadying my voice. "They’re not in danger. In fact, we need to leave them there a little longer. When I got there, the three of them were actually talking to each other."

"What?" Anna’s head snapped up.

"Yes," I nodded. "Caspian, Cayden, Cyrius—all three spoke to . They weren’t fighting, they weren’t tearing each other apart. They were actually talking."

Anna’s eyes filled with hope. "That’s... almost impossible."

Aurora hesitated. "Are you sure?"

"I promise. If we leave them a little longer, they’ll get used to each other’s company. When they co ho, they’ll be on their best behavior—no more family feuds."

"I think Hazel is right," Anna said softly. "Perhaps we should leave them there longer. Give them ti to heal."

But Aurora shook her head. "What if they’re suffering?"

"I’ve been there," I replied. "They’re not. They were sitting in front of the fire. They might be bored, but they’re safe. Just rest. Let every one of us rest today. Tomorrow, we’ll proceed with our plans. Dahlia’s already dead. There’s no danger."

I glanced at my twins. "They’ll finally reunite with their father and his brothers." My heart fluttered. "I’m so excited."

I rose to go check on Father, wondering if Klaus was tearing his head off. Behind , Aurora was still murmuring to Anna, trying to convince her that maybe letting the triplet say together for a while is a good idea.

"Hazel!" Aurora’s voice cracked like lightning.

I turned quickly. She was clutching her left palm, the entire hand trembling violently. Her face was pale.

"Hazel, I promise you this is not a good sign. You have to listen to right now—we have to go save the triplets. Now."

"Aurora," I said firmly, stepping closer, "we already talked about this."

"No, Hazel, no!" Her voice rose. "This isn’t just panic. Caspian is..." She pressed her hand to her chest, eyes squeezed shut. "I believe they’re in danger. They need help—now."

Lilith, who had been sitting on the rug playing with Heather, looked up. "Aurora, what’s wrong?"

Aurora spun toward her, still gripping her palm. "We need to go save the triplets!" Her voice shook as she called toward the stairs, "Klaus! Marcus!"

I rushed forward, grabbing her shoulders. "Aurora, what are you doing?"

Heather began to cry, a sharp, startled wail. Christian followed imdiately, his own sobbing echoing hers.

"See?" Aurora pointed at the twins, desperation etched on her face. "They understand. They feel it too. Sothing’s wrong, Hazel. Sothing’s happening to the boys."

I knelt beside the babies. "They’re crying because you’re scaring them."

"No," Aurora gasped. "They can feel the danger..."

Anne shot to her feet and stord over, fury in her eyes. "Are you doing sothing to the babies?"

"No!" Aurora’s voice cracked. "I swear—"

Before she could finish, Anne’s palm lashed out once, twice, striking Aurora across the cheek.

"Stop whatever you’re doing to my grandbabies, you witch!" she snarled, arm raised again.

I caught her wrist mid-air. "Enough!"

Aurora pressed her flaming cheek, tears brimming. "I’m not doing anything! I promise. The babies need help. I’m not hurting them."

The twins wailed louder, their cries rising like sirens. My stomach tightened. Aurora’s hand was still trembling uncontrollably, her breath shallow.

"Hazel," she whispered, "please. I can feel it. Sothing’s happening to Caspian, Cayden, and Cyrius. If we wait any longer—"

I glanced at my mother, who was rocking the babies in her arms, trying desperately to soothe their cries. Her eyes t mine—calm but worried—and I shook my head, gesturing that I didn’t know what to do. She gave a small, firm nod and tilted her head toward Aurora.

Aurora stood a few steps away, her hand trembling violently, eyes wild with urgency. I moved toward her and gently took her shaking hand. "Are you sure about this?"

"I’m very, very sure," she said, her voice low and hard.

"But Marcus is still healing," I argued. "He just beca a vampire a few minutes ago. I can’t push him to control an entire army right now."

Aurora’s eyes flashed. "Trust . I’m the one who made him a vampire. His power is already strong—he’s a Crescent vampire now, Hazel. He has every ability we could need. We can act imdiately."

I drew in a long, shaky breath. "If this plan doesn’t work, Aurora, it’s on you. I promise you, if anything happens, it will be your fault."

"I’ll take responsibility for everything," she said without hesitation. "But I can feel it—Hazel, they’re in danger. I can feel it in my bones."

Her voice cracked, and for a mont my own heart clenched. The image of my triplets suffering sowhere beyond my reach sent a tremor down my spine. If Aurora was right, if she wasn’t just panicking—then we couldn’t afford to wait.

I didn’t even think. My legs were already moving, rushing for the stairs. Aurora darted after , Anne close behind. Lilith scooped up the twins and followed, their little cries echoing through the hall.
