However, after searching around, he couldn’t find it.
He had to dry his hair casually while calling Jasmine Yale.
Jasmine Yale had just finished breakfast and was tending to her plants on the balcony. She was surprised to receive a call from Sylvan Cheney, but more than anything, she was delighted.
"Have you co back?" she initiated the conversation.
"Yeah, just got ho, took a shower, but I can’t find the hairdryer."
"Oh, I put it in the second drawer to the left in the bedroom closet, check it out. Do you want to co over?"
While speaking on the phone, Sylvan Cheney searched around, "Found it."
"Good. Will you be traveling for work again soon? If not, do you need to co to your apartnt?" Jasmine’s voice was filled with joy.
On the other end, there was a mont of hesitation before he nodded, "Co over."
"Have you had breakfast? I made so snacks; should I bring you so?"
"No need, I’ve already eaten, I need to head to the office later."
"Alright." Jasmine Yale didn’t keep him for long, "Hang up the call, and dry your hair quickly, or you’ll catch a cold."
"Okay."
Jasmine Yale gathered her things.
There wasn’t much for her to pack; she just missed Sylvan Cheney.
Ten days...
Although he ca back once midway, she missed him dearly as they hadn’t seen each other for such a long ti.
She yearned for his face, she yearned for his voice, and she yearned for his scent.
The longing penetrated her very bones, leaving no way out.
Jasmine Yale took a taxi.
Perhaps she ca too quickly; Sylvan Cheney had just finished drying his hair and hadn’t put the hairdryer away yet when she knocked on the door.
Jasmine Yale hadn’t even tied her hair up, looking wind-battered and had forgotten to tie her scarf.
The door opened, and at last, she saw Sylvan Cheney.
The one she thought of day and night.
She didn’t say a word, just flung herself into his embrace, wrapping her arms around his waist, "Sylvan..."
She rested her head against his chest; he had just showered, and his scent was particularly enticing, making her want to nestle closer.
Sylvan Cheney hugged her, pulling her close with his large hand around her waist.
"Missed that much?"
"Yes, I missed you." Jasmine Yale wouldn’t suppress her emotions, her heart was racing, just like lovers reuniting after a long separation, "Didn’t you miss ?"
Sylvan Cheney rubbed her head, "Get up, let tidy up the bathroom."
"Okay." Jasmine obediently let go.
Sylvan Cheney placed the hairdryer back in its place and tossed his clothes into the washing machine, doing these tasks like second nature, very skillfully.
Jasmine Yale picked out a dark blue striped vest for him, "Wear more layers, don’t catch a cold. It’s winter now, unlike sumr, you can easily catch a cold. If you get sick, I won’t stay with you."
Jasmine Yale’s voice was soft and tender.
She even helped Sylvan Cheney put on the vest.
Having not seen each other for a few days, Jasmine Yale thoroughly observed Sylvan Cheney, her tender eyes never leaving him, unwilling to look away.
"What are you staring at? Looking at ?"
"I am looking at you." Jasmine Yale admitted frankly, reaching out to touch his cheek, "Why have you lost weight? Not used to Old York?"
"The workload has been quite heavy lately, maybe I didn’t rest well."
"Don’t work too hard, staying up and overworking can cause discomfort. I want you to be healthy." Her soft little hand caressed his face over and over.
Her gentle eyes were full of tender affection, as radiant as blooming peach blossoms in spring, beautiful to the extre, dazzlingly splendid.
