Jasmine Yale sat dazed on the balcony for half a day.
The rain outside had also been falling all day long.
Butler Santana truly couldn’t bear to see it any longer. What in the world was Mr. Cheney so busy with?
Hadn’t he vowed to take good care of Jasmine Yale? Why hadn’t he even called her while away on a business trip?
After sitting for half a day, Jasmine Yale finally ca to her senses. She ate the white fungus soup Butler Santana had cooked for her, then opened the docunts and materials in her hands, marking them diligently.
Rainy days are really troubleso; you can’t go outside.
She bowed her head and silently turned the pages of the docunts, calculating one by one from asset evaluation to building area.
She wasn’t good at math.
But there’s nothing that is inherently bad; as long as you are willing to work hard later, anything can be made up for.
Now, she was quite adept at these calculations.
In the evening, perhaps too tired, Jasmine Yale fell asleep on the desk, dozing off in a haze.
When Butler Santana ca in, she was completely unaware.
Butler Santana felt an intense pity for her. Though she worked for Mr. Cheney, after spending so much ti with Jasmine Yale, her heart had long sided with Jasmine.
Taking advantage of Jasmine Yale’s deep sleep, she took her phone, unlocked it with Jasmine Yale’s fingerprint, and secretly sent a text to Mr. Cheney: Miss Yale is not feeling well and may go into early labor at any ti.
After sending it, she deleted the ssage.
This was the first ti she had done sothing behind Jasmine Yale’s back that might not be right by her.
But she couldn’t stand seeing Jasmine Yale so heartbroken.
If Jasmine Yale blad her, she wouldn’t have any complaints.
She believed that if the work could be put down, it could wait.
But if he missed the chance to take care of Jasmine Yale, there might be no future opportunity. Mr. Cheney already had two children, and the possibility of wanting more in the future wasn’t high.
Thinking of this, Butler Santana felt especially sorry for Jasmine Yale.
She draped a warm blanket over Jasmine Yale, who didn’t wake up.
In this sleep, she was very peaceful.
She slept for a full two hours.
When she woke again, it was completely dark outside except for the rain that kept falling relentlessly.
"Butler Santana, I’m hungry..." Jasmine Yale rubbed her eyes, stepping out in her slippers.
"Miss Yale, you’re finally hungry. I really thought you didn’t want to eat anything. Is your appetite better now? The dinner is light, not greasy."
"Much better." Jasmine Yale, with her large belly, walked slowly, her cheeks flushed, "I can eat."
"Then sit down and eat, the dishes are just freshly made."
During dinner, Jasmine Yale was evidently much more cheerful compared to lunchti.
She ate the warm food and engaged in so small talk with Butler Santana.
"Butler Santana, will it rain tomorrow?"
"The weather forecast says yes, but it will be lighter than today."
"Then I still can’t go out."
"Better not go out; the wind is strong outside, and the temperature has dropped significantly. You easily catch a cold if you’re not careful."
After the al,
After taking a bath, Jasmine Yale wrapped in a blanket, sat on the balcony to dry her hair.
This rain, it’s pouring heavily. Outside, it’s so gloomy that you can’t see your hand in front of you, only the streetlights flickering faintly and erratically.
That night, the child in her belly was relatively well-behaved and didn’t fuss.
By the ti Jasmine Yale finished reading a story, she was thoroughly exhausted. The book was still in her hand, and she fell onto the bed asleep.
She even forgot to turn off the lamp.
Probably due to sheer exhaustion, she tugged at the quilt, her small head deeply buried in the pillow as she found a comfortable position.
Under the soft light, her fair face was serene and peaceful, the corners of her mouth slightly curved, with one hand resting on her belly.
