"Trust , I am fine," he said, cupping her face in his palms as he assured her.
"Then let feel your emotions," she said looking into his eyes. He hadn’t let her feel anything from him for a few days and he was often away so she didn’t have the ti to have a proper look at him.
He stared at her with mixed feelings flashing across his eyes. There was that part of him that wanted to let her, that part that couldn’t keep anything from her but there was also the part that didn’t want her feeling the turmoil inside of him. He was often away so that the distance would help him shield them all away and she would be able to feel a thing.
"My love..."
"Let ," she said, cutting in between his sentences.
"You are right, I am not alright but it’s nothing that I can’t handle." he said, hugging , burying his face on the nook of her neck. "I don’t want you getting hurt because of this,"
"How bad is it?" she asked, her ti no longer as serious as before. She was pregnant, pregnancy and pain doesn’t go hand in hand, she had realized this now. "I just want to feel a bit of it," she said despite the reason she had earlier give to herself.
He broke the hug and kissed her. Stared into her eyes for a mont and saw how determined she looked and knew he would have to let her or she would not let it go. "Alright," he relented. He let out just a bit of what he was feeling and she broke into tears without even knowing it. Only realize g it when he wiped them off and sealed away his feelings again from her.
She looked at him and saw how calm he looked as if the intense pain she felt was not from him but rather sothing she imagined. "Darren..."
"I am fin... I will be fine," he said, cupping her face with one hand.
"Tell , what do you think is causing this?" she asked. He was fine since she knew him though there was sothing dark about him, it was nothing like this. She had always assud it to be because he was a lycan. Soone who was different from the rest of the shifters. Now she could not think of any reason why all of this would be happening. Was it because he died before or the spells from the Spellcaster before he died and the poison from the Abominations? Kora could not think of anything that could make the situation this serious.
"I think it has sothing to do with my curse," he said, letting his thoughts known. He had spoken with her about this befor, perhaps it was ti she learned how it all began.
"Curse? What curse?" she asked, sitting upright and staring at him. The look in her eyes told him that she was expecting an answer.
"The goddess, she cursed a long ti ago. Though the Spell casters might have contributed to this and yes, just as you have thought, dying may have catalyzed and worsened it, I believe it is the origin of the type goddess’ curse on ," he said. His jaws hardened when he recounted the ill-fated night where he encountered the goddess. Soone whom all shifters and even the witches looked forward to eting, he loathed her.
No one could bla him for that. The effect of their eting still lives on even now. He thought it was over before but who would have thought one thing or the other would rekindle it and make it worse? Make it physically worse.
Kora saw as his eyes glad over and beca crimson. A dark shade of red that surprised her because his eyes had been that dark before. "It is fine if you don’t want to..."
"I will tell you," he said, making up his mind. She had tried many different ways to help him but one was working, probably because she did but knew the root of the problem. He had tried to think that it didn’t have anything to do with the curse but he couldn’t keep fooling himself when he knew the truth a long ti ago.
He began marketing what happened to that exact cure that was placed on him. He made sure he didn’t leave any detail behind and picked all that he could rember. It all seed like yesterday, still fresh in his mind. Each ti he thought of it, he always had the desire to attack if he ever got to see her again. That seems like an impossible feat, but who knows, maybe one day, he will get the chance to et her again.
Kora listens and could not help getting angry at the goddess fur what sue had done to her mate. Even Gaia was not pleased with either and she could her anger through the link between her and Gaia. This was boy right all. It was those people’s fault for coming in his way when he didn’t even co for them or do anything. Was is that bad to be the only lycan? If they were afraid of what he was then shouldn’t they stay away from him?
"That happened and how it all began," he said and a butter smile appeared on his face. He was grateful to have his mate with and he felt relieved as if a load had been lifted off his shoulder.
"That was not your fault," she said, feeling the ache deep inside of her for her mate who was now suffering unjustly. "The goddess shouldn’t have done that," there was anger in her tone and he was not surprised to hear that from her.
"Don’t get worked up over it," he said trying to make her calm down before it before bad for her. "I alone am enough to loathe her,"
If others were to know whom he was talking about right now, they might understand his reason but he could say the to his mate because he knew she understood him and wouldn’t bla him for doing so.
